Make Star / Mono Coating drop from 55+ content too

  • Hello,

Ever since I got level 55 the Star/Mono coatings don't drop at all anymore from any 55+ content (rookie raids, GC, Primal, GCC districts). Ark Ship was the last to drop them.

I believe this is a design flaw and Is it possible to add them to at least the GCC districts if not raids too?

  • its not a design flaw, gc and rookie raids already have a set drop list and i think they should stay as is, though i do agree it might have been a design flaw for gcc and agree they should be added to gcc, but if you notice, gcc doesnt have hidden quests, or boxes, they do have grutins but thats about it. and do not ask them to be added to primal, the legendary drops from primal are already hard enough to get.

  • you dont get it, adding more additional loot will lower the chances of getting what we want, im pretty sure that if people start getting those in primal, which im not alone in thinking they are a trash drop, people will complain and rage because they were added. honestly if you want them, farm ark. you still get exp and you get drops, gcc ish another matter, but dont suggest adding drops to primal or gc, at least not until you understand how rng works. adding more drops will only lower the chances of getting what we as players need, which ish not trash drops for the housing. Hell people complain about getting wuc, and that can at least be sold for profit or used to make ourselves stronger. so i agree with your suggestion of maybe adding those drops to gcc, which just drops trash anyways, but leave gc and primal alone. Let me explain something while i have the thought in my head. drop lists consist of percentages that add up to 100%. what happens if you add stuff into those lists? the other percentages get reduced. and what do you think failforge will reduce first? legendary drops so people have to farm more and will possibly buy respawns, drop books, and other items.

  • There are more ways to add something to a loot table not just to make it drop INSTEAD of something else.

For example if a boss drops X items now, make it so it drops X items but also a small additional chance for coating on top of that.

I mean it's not like I know how exactly loot math works in this game but it shouldn't be too hard to do.

And once again I am not suggesting for coatings to drop INSTEAD of something else, but as additional loot on top of what we have. If they nerf drops by adding them, then I don't agree to that, and I'd rather them not add it in that case.

  • ok ima break it down since you didnt get it. lets say there are 5 things that drop, one has a 40% drop rate, one has a 20% drop rate, 2 have a 15% drop rate, and 1 has a 10% drop rate. thats a typical drop rate table, though in all honesty thats a very basic explanation and the percentages are usually very different and not that clear cut, but anyhow, to add a 6th item, you have to remove the percentage of the drop from the other things, in a company prioritized by cash grab like failforge, its normally reduced like this, the 40% becomes 35%, both 20%s are reduced to 17% the 15%s to 13% and the 10% to 5% making the new thing like the housing mats which arent very useful in the game itself into a 25% drop rate while everything else is reduced and the legendary items are reduced by 1/2. Thats basically what your asking to have happen, do you understand now?

  • I get what you're saying but your logic is flawed. You're assuming every boss drops only 1 item always, but they drop multiple.

Let's say a boss drops 3 possible items rn. 1st is a common crafting material (rng which), 2nd is a rarer drop like WUC or AUC with a chance to be nothing, and last one is either nothing or a legendary with very low chance.

In this case if you add a 4th possible drop (low chance for coating) it does not impact the other 3 whatsoever, it's just extra possible loot.

I'll use a more realistic example. I didn't play this game at end game before Primal was added, but I assume the Primal tickets were not dropping in GC before that update? So when they added the ticket, did they ruin the loot? I'm willing to be it's just an extra drop on top of what already was from GC.

  • my logic ish flawed from a clearly stated stated simplistic example, right. well if happens, drops get worse, and we get the coating trash, ill know exactly who to blame and at that point will inform the other players on who exactly was responsible for ruining the drops even further since you refuse to understand how rng works, and want to add in a useless drop to primal and gc because you dont want to farm ark, and for the record, yes the gc drops got worse because failforge messed with the drop rates not because of the tickets, and multi drops ish another factor in rng, i didnt state it in my example because it was a SIMPLISTIC example. to explain that since you obviously will try to pick apart whatever i say unless i go into detail, although youll also probably ignore whatever i say that refutes what you want. rng works like this, theres a loot table and a random number generator as well as a randomized drop amount, the randomized drop amount triggers first which determines how many drops you get, then the random number generator generates numbers for each drop determined by the random drop amount, those numbers are then compared to the loot table and then what the numbers correspond to ish what you get. you want to change the loot table and add drops that any player focused on getting stronger rather then their house will consider trash, which lowers the possible chance to get legendary drops buy adding something else the number generator can land on and reducing the percentages for the other drops. also the "nothing" drop ish already a spot on the loot table. you fail to realize or purposefully ignore failforges stance on drops, which is do whatever will make the most money for them. so if they do add that into gc and primal, the following things will be affected. aurith blueprints, aurith accessories, primal legendary drops, weapon upgrade chips and armor upgrade chips, and possibly the cores, though the cores maybe not so much because u can farm a lot of them in gcc. this is so they can make people farm more, have more chances at dying and make people wanna buy respawners, drop books, ep potions and things like that from the premium shop. so unless they add a second loot table, which im guessing is what u think they will do, (and ish what they did for the tickets because they were a required entry piece, which they still set at 99%, not 100% and a drop was set permently for just the tickets in the random drop number generator, so it went from being set at 0-? to being set to 1 towards the ticket table and 0-? for the first drop table), which they wont because they are not required to enter or run anything in the game, they are a crafting item.

for the record i agree that they should add coatings to the gcc districts, but never to rookies, gc, or primal.

  • Could you both please stop discussing for a moment? I think it is clear, that housing materials shouldn't drop in raids generally. So you don't need to repeat and repeat and repeat...just stop.

But I support Alisaa's idea, that the housing materials should be added to the areas in Grass Cover Camp. When you farm the materials in ruin fortress, you loot 1-2 materials per run sometimes. Most of the time no materials dropp at all. It would be a nice addition for faster farming, when we can loot the materials in Grass Cover Camp, too.

What do you think about it? threea

  • Why not make them sellable on the market? Some people don't care about housing and could make profit from selling them and people who do care will find it easier than farming the same dungeon for xxx times to just craft one piece of furniture.

That's actually a good idea too, no clue why they're not tradeable...

agreed, and i also know why they arent tradeable, they want you to farm the xxx times so that you have more chances of dying and so they can try to get you to buy respawners, ep pots, and the like.
