Can't get past Char select.
NA Server Down? Stuck on Character Select

I think Gameforge has more important matters to attend to than caring if you can connect to the NA server. They need to make sure they get that money.

i cant enter the game srsly

this ish the second time today failforge has screwed the NA server, the last time this particular problem has occurred and they had to reset the server the last time after it was down like 7-8 hours, so dont expect much especially since were supposed to have maintance in 4 hours, we probably wont be able to get on until after that, because failforge doesnt care if you missed the event dailies because of them, because they are free and they make no money out of them.

It really shows that this is apparently the only NA server they have for any of their games when this keep happening. It's always the bloody NA server with problems, and it always happens when I decide to play, seriously, there have been times it apparently started shortly before I went to log on. Give up on the idea of running a NA server, move our stuff the English EU server, and toss the NA server in the trash where it belongs.

Im not exactly happy with that suggestion. you do realize if they were to do that, knowing failforge, if you wanted to keep your character data they would make you have to pay for it right? and i dont want to have to start over with my stuff, more then likely if they did that id leave failforges servers period and go to jp servers.

It's not at all uncommon for companies to do server mergers, and it's absolutely absurd to think that any company would charge the player to transfer player data under those circumstances. It's a completely different matter when a player elects to transfer their data from one active server, to another, when that service is offered, companies charge for that, but not when they're closing a server down.

though you have a point, i also, like many others, think the reason failforge ported the game for a global release ish nothing more then a cash grab scheme, as they have a history of that. though it may be an absurd thought, doesnt mean greedy people dont do absurd things. and if or when the global release fails (depending on which portion u side wif) it will just be added to a long line of games failforge has done that to.

These days, short of maybe the odd exception, pretty much all online games feel like cash grabs, as they aren't made to last. So many of them are just reskinned versions of games we've had many times before, they do well for a while, then the player base shrinks as they go off to the next reskinned version of a game we've had many times before, which keep getting pumped out in rapid succession. Companies just don't tend to make online games to last these days, they make them under the expectation that they're disposable. You only have to look at the absurd rate at which new online games hit the market these days to see that, there's just no way so many games could all be sustainable, and they know it.

i understand that but soulworker isnt on of these reskined cookie cut outs right? and i could understand if failforge started negelcting the servers after the player base declined, but thats not the case, they are one of the major reasons the player base ish declining.

Dungeon Fighter Online, Continent of the Ninth (C9), Dragon Nest, Elsword, and others are all largely the same game, that handle things in about the same way, with the same sort of profit model, and so on. Some are 3D, some 2D, and some 2.5D, but functionally, that tends to be the biggest differences in online games within this genre.

ok, fair point. Still find it idiotic from a business stand point to purposefully kill a game, even if its a reskin, which is what failforge has been doing. I could understand them neglecting it after its starting to die, like i said, but failforge ish one of the major reasons the game ish dying. not them neglecting it because its dying, rather its dying because their neglecting it.
