Mergers of servers

  • Hello ;3 How are you? <3

I wanted to talk about the issue of server fusion. Before putting it in suggestions, I wanted to know a bit what you think. I think that since the beta of SoulWorker, the game was starting to need a little audience in each of the servers to fill it more.

We had several problems in the game since they blocked certain regions by unknown issues. In the forum we began to notice that lack of audience over time, we had very hard moments where there were hardly any people, others, very good where we commented a lot, and we were of opinion in different threads. I have seen, and I can say, what I feel since I registered until today, and great people have come here to comment and play, but something is missing, and I think, that ... that something is a fusion of servers.

It would not only fix the forum, but also, the economy of the game, the union of players who are alone on a server and have no one to play with, finding the scenario more easily, playing with people, is what I think we want today, play with friends and see how more people are playing SoulWorker and share laughs. I want SoulWorker to be the SoulWorker that we have been waiting for a long time, with the merger of servers, I think it would fix it. I would like very much to be able to know your opinions, what do you think? <3

  • It will be a good thing for new players coming up to the game as they will see more people; however, this is different from the people already playing. I don't think most of them like the idea. Regardless, if that were to happen, my guess would be NA & EN and EU servers. I'm not sure if they can handle the whole population in one server smoothly, I could be wrong though

    Is EN a big Server?

Yeah, got UK(supposedly), all balkans, at least 3 times more russians than all of us combined, wkwk land and a few asian people. We're the coolest.

  • Hello everyone,

a server merge is already included in our future plans, since it is true that some of our servers have lower population at the moment compared to Tenebris for example. In any case, when there is something more specific planned, you will be informed in advance. :)

  • Aren't you ashamed of yourselves to reach this point? I would be.

  • I don't see why they should be? From the beginning it should've been 1-2 big servers. As far as I am aware, they are the only publisher to host 6 servers.

  • I'm surprised you used Tenebris as an example. I play on NA and it seems very empty. I see the same people day in day out.

I've tried playing on some of the EU servers just to see how bad the lag is and the lag isn't that bad. So have you guys considered consolidating down to just one super server? That would save you money from having to support servers at 2 different physical locations and help with player population at the same time.

I mean would the combined playerbase we have now across all NA/EU severs even come close to what we had on NA server during it's first week of open beta? You would save a lot of money by supporting just one server and could use a bit of your saved money to upgrade that one server if needed.

  • I hope it's not EU->US merge. Don't want my ping go even higher than it already is.

They're based in EU, so if they merge to one super server it would likely be US->EU. I'm in NA and I don't notice much difference when I try playing on an EU server, so I don't think it would be that bad.

  • May not fit in the current topics, but I believe if the Soulworker Team can bring up a recruiting event or recruit a friend event that works, it could help work to stabilizing a playerbase.

The issue with most F2P games that I have noticed is that there isn't enough advertising, let alone any events to encourage people to play.

SoulWorker itself has great gameplay. It's just that the lack of any presence in the online world hurts it. Steam? Barely any attention.

Streamers were once the idea of advertisement, but in order to bring that in, need to start at the beginning and bring in new people that are looking for a good hack and slash.

If the server merge is inevitable, things can still be done to bolster more players to potentially keep NA and EU on their own servers, since merging them could cause latency issues.

Not sure if a merge for NA and EU will happen though.
