I get this is obt and even a game that has gone threw cbt into obt will still have some form of issues. But couldn't some of this have been avoided if we had a proper cbt-obt-launch
Like lets be for real the game isn't going to pull in that many people but I feel It will have or try to have a steady player base. But from what Ive noticed lately when it comes to gamers 1st impressions matter and srry this a bad start for a game that delayed its cbt/obt in the first place. Just a lil disappointed I guess ![]()
Was skipping cbt worth? (merged topics)

I feel that most of the problems (if not ALL) would be solved if they had a proper cbt-obt like you said. It feels like the problems everyone is having right now its not because the servers can't handle the amount of players, but because the servers wasn't ready at all.

What kind of none server related problems are you seeing that would justify another CBT?

Because I can guaranteed to you that if this was a CBT we would still have the same problems. Strees test or not, the servers wasn't ready at all. Simple.

I'd like to know what kind of networking background you have.

You see the German server, Spanish, French - you can log in to them now, and play with out issues if you are in Europe.
They are working fine.Servers are fine. I am guessing We just need more English servers to spread the population and get ride of the issues that EN and NA are having.

I always look forward to suffering through random disconnects and gigantic ping spikes. Thanks, Gameforge!

Exactly this. It has nothing to do with "Servers not being ready at all", whatever that actually means. If a server is running, the server is running. Overload and capacity are really issues and it's pretty ignorant to think that some inherent malfunction in the server would be the genuine issue when they were working fine until everyone got on and the influx of players began. Networking is complicated but these issues happen with almost every release of a new MMO. The initial playerbase is always much bigger than the playerbase ever will be.

I dont know why Gameforge decided to skip the close beta..which in my opinion is a crucial step before publishing a game....
quickly going and saying "Open Beta" while the game is still in ALPHA placed a lot of hype and high expectation...and as a result, the game got butchered and had a TERRIBLE feedback on its first day....
they should've at least considered doing a close beta test for a number of players> then for a limited number of week, do this public test>then gather opinion and try to fix bugs and other severe game issues that people are having on the FIRST DAY of the game and not launching it and say "NOW OPEN BETA!" while the game is barely near ALPHA.....
I dont wanna jump to conclusion so i'm gonna wait for a little bit..... but they should consider closing the game for a while and fix the issues..the game is clearly not ready yet and its already going DOWNHILL with all the negative feedback on its first day... -
Alpha test is not applicable to this game, since it's already fully featured (the content we have right now will be exactly same (or with minor changes) as content we will get when official release happen), just have bugs, and that's exactly what beta test is for - to test and fix bugs.
btw. so far i had no experienced any lags (but i haven't played so much yet - only like 1-2 hours), I play on EN server.
-
the point of close beta is exactly to find those bugs and issues and try fix it early to avoid problems such as what we are having right now...its not just about the content....
-
I was talking about "alpha" not "closed beta" and its still "open beta" so it is natural that game have problems and bugs.

ahh...nevertheless they should've atleast consider a 'test week' or close beta first before going 'Open Beta' so it doesnt give most people the wrong impression..... or atleast be descriptive with their announcement lol
-
Really makes you wonder what made them think it's a good idea to skip CBT. The steam store page isn't even listed as early access so every bad reviews will probably stay like forever.

What kind of problems are we having right now that CBT could have fixed?

And what are this problems exactly. Saying tons doesn't really says much.

Some minor issues like translations because from what i've seen theres still some korean texts in the game. Also if they had a CBT they would probably have an idea on how big the interested population in the game is.
-
Yeah, I think there should've been an CBT.
The servers have way too many issues and they were not ready for us to play.
But it's too late now. At least things will get fixed as we find them.
-
To be honest, my only main concern is server lag (feels like I'm playing in Korea). I have not noticed a bug as of yet. If you put server lag out of the equation, unless there are some noticeable bugs, an obt can be understandable.
Besides, don't you want this game to be released sooner? :3
(In all honesty tho, it all depends on how rapid their work on the game is going to be.)
