Was skipping cbt worth? (merged topics)

  • Yeah, I think there should've been an CBT.

The servers have way too many issues and they were not ready for us to play.

But it's too late now. At least things will get fixed as we find them.

Based on what issues can you justify a CBT?

    W-erwin.png

  • the point of close beta is exactly to find those bugs and issues and try fix it early to avoid problems such as what we are having right now...its not just about the content....

What kind of problems are we having right now that CBT could have fixed?

Some minor issues like translations because from what i've seen theres still some korean texts in the game. Also if they had a CBT they would probably have an idea on how big the interested population in the game is.

OBT is for fixing minor text issues, they have a whole Localization forum section here to deal with it.

When you put a game on Steam, you will never have any idea about your server population. Let me give you an example. Black Desert Online was released for over 1 year, and the moment they put it on Steam over 100k new players joined the game out of thin air. This is not a joke. We had lags on the servers for over 1 month because of this huge surge of new players.

CBT will not help you there.

there’s actually tons in the first 5 mins of me playing lol in TUTORIAL

And what are this problems exactly. Saying tons doesn't really says much.

I'm not sure why it feels like you're trying to insist the game is fine lmao
just because 1 player is doing fine doesnt mean the majority or the rest of the players are the same...
like Leet said, there are still other (minor) game-related issues such as untranslated texts/description, dungeon bugs ( boss getting stuck, mobs not dying)... and also if they had a CBT they would probably have an idea on how big the interested population in the game is and fixed some/most of the issues we are having right now.....
if they did a CBT or atleast a 'server test week/s before the "Open Beta", people wouldnt have high expectation and will be fully aware that there's a possibility the game is still in the process of completion...that way, it wouldnt cause a commotion and tons of terrible feedback..

I'm not sure what you mean.

But we have alot of issues that shouldn't be in an OBT.

    Crashing when equipping certain items.

Intense Lag in dungeons & everywhere.

I'm sorry but the moment I hear "Alpha" or "Beta" in a game's release. I'll be well aware that the game is still under the work of being worked on until it reaches a point where the developers and staff agrees to launch the game as "stable launch". In the case of being unaware would be the fault of the user themselves for simply jumping the gun and making assumption which can understandable be the cause of one's hype for something they want.

You have to be pretty reasonable and understandable of a situation before judging it.

^ Fixing these minor issues is PART OF CBT.... this" OBT " is like displaying and selling an untested prototype gadget and saying "this gadget is working fine! BUY IT NOW"..
its basically like the "No Man's Sky pre-order" issue (MMORPG) edition lmao
CBT is basically handing this prototype gadget to a certain number of people to check/test its functionality, stability ect... to make sure things are working fine...
    anyway you get the point..hopefully..

All the issues are related to the server stability, and this is what this OBT is for including the minor issues with Localizations. Which is were all " terrible " feedback is coming from.

People were expecting a game release, but for the first time they actually got a Beta version of the game that needs testing, so they are freaking out, cause they don't want to do any testing and just want to play the final product.

I'm not judging the game....i'm simply suggesting a more common alternative solution that they could've used so it wouldnt cause these feedback....I'm aware that this OBT is still in alpha... but for some people, OBT means its "playable but still has few minor bugs".......

probably because, for most of these players, this is the first time they played an actual OB = T and caused them to panic and " AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" lol...they could've atleast be more descriptive with their announcement so they wouldnt have to deal with these tons of non-nonsensical complainers..

  • Yea i dont really see any issues aside from server stability.

Maybe its just me but I havent seen any issues in game? Everything went fine. Im only lvl 16 but still, I dont expect any problems to arise that would make me quit.

    LMAO:sleeping:

  • Game crashes even during game release. That's why they do this massive OBT so they can get as much different computer builds systems together to find those where it crashes.

You can't do that in CBT because the number of players is very limited. So CBT is pointless at this point to fix this issues.

I'm sorry, I didn't meant to word it as if one would hate the game. Just the underlined part is mainly what I was really focusing on.

I understand that everyone has their own idea of what any sort of beta is but at the end of the day, as long as it's in a beta, it's going to be proclaimed as something broken and need fixing even if the issues are minor or worse.

It's just more or less a post to everyone with that sort of mindset and not just you if you understand what I'm getting at.

  • In my opinion an Open Beta is a nice move. The issues we'r having right know are minor and expected from an OB, the problem comes with Closed Betas that last forever, let developers/publisher work in a lazy mood and kills the game population aka hype before launch making the game doomed.

The only complain I have, is all those negative reviews from obnoxious ppl that don't have patience and therefore doesn't reflect the actual game.

exactly....but unfortunately, there's always this people who cant wait will be like "aaaa this one thing that i'm doing and cant figure out how wont work...so its broken..THE GAME IS BROKEN EVERYONE!! LEAVE NOWWWWW" lmao

and yeah...unfortunately they're always there....lingering in the shadow ...ready to type the work ' b r o k e n '...even tho the game is still in god damn alpha/beta/test..

  • The thing with open beta is strange considering that publishers usually try to sell "founder pack" that let you access game while it's in closed beta. Strange move considering the fact that everyone says "gameforge is known for their p2w cash shops".

They're just not ready to put out the founders yet :3 probably don't know what "p2w" items to put down on the founder. I'm the kind of guy who would be just extremely happy to own a beta/founder title alone so I can let everyone know how much I care about titles xD

  • Not worth at all.

Sure I'm happy its out and I can actually play it, but the lag in missions for the NA server makes it unplayable.

Well almost unplayable :P Should gone with a closed beta first.
