Vicarious Calling set impossible to farm at lvl 57 and above - drop logic is flawed in general

  • My case is simple and yet I can't help myself because the game has bad loot algorithm.

I have a goal of completing Vicarious Calling set on every character.

Sure it's not mandatory and aiming towards power-leveling and raid gear could be more optimal but I should be able to farm a specific dungeon without my chances being WORSE with each run.

Loot chance on set blueprints are almost zero after reaching lvl 57. Handicapping oneself with weaker gear does not help, level seems to be the dominant factor.

To my dismay, the character I care to suit is Iris, who had the least chances for drops because I leveled all previous characters before her release. I had multiple copies of BPs for the rest of the bunch and now I miss two parts for Iris with no perspective to farm it in fair conditions.

    Of course I can:

    - delete one of my characters and level up new farmer to 54 (repeat at nauseam)

    - buy loot drop chance enhancers

    - when not getting visual golden beacon drop, leave mission to avoid leveling up or Alt+F4 from the game and restart

Maybe some see it as non-issue but for me it's a major flaw in loot distribution.

Even buying additional character slot for a spare character would help but we still are stuck with tight slot number.

Another solution would be adding pre-orders to player market but even then there's no certainty someone sells it.

Overall, loot chance heavily handicapped by level factor should be revised. Maybe add gear power to equasion to balance out overleveling? This could also help those who want to help new players without completely robbing them of loot. From my experience even 10 lvl difference can leave weaker team member without any drops.

    :/

  • This topic has been brought up somewhere before and there was a suggestion of an xp-storing system which imo is a good way to go about it. Basically, either store the xp you get from dungeons now and level up later once you're done farming, or a different version where you can level down temporarily, which also has other uses. However, I doubt any changes regarding this could be implemented. Boosting newbie guild members and such could be a more popular case, but specifically going for some gear set and running into your problem is something I've only heard a few times. Honestly I'd just get a more practical goal or spend that time elsewhere entirely.

  • You're better off skipping vicarious and going straight for aurith or AOV hard gear. AOV hard is probably the quicker option (the ultimate goal right now is aov manic gear) but aurith is cheap on the market and could help you get a bit tankier to farm hard if you're finding it difficult.

  • I think what they could do is make it so that there is always a small chance of getting loot so that it never drops down to 0%. Maybe make it so that it never drops below 20%. (This number is just off the top of my head, it could be lower or higher.) This game is content starved, doing this will give more reasons to play lower content.

This will also help out with marketplace supplies. If there was a reasonable chance for drops for running lower content, then lower dungeons may be farmed by higher level players for gold gear to supply the marketplace,
