What’s your opinion on the game so far?

  • Stream reviews indicate the game is severely lacking proper maintenance

I forgot we can review the game. Rip the people who ruin their own mmo by giving it bad reviews ON A BETA.

  • EN server wouldn't work for me last night, NA server had some strange bug/lag spike that broke the tutorial. So stopped playing for that day.

Today servers are down, so not great so far. Hopefully it picks up.

I mean they literally said the servers would be down.

I wasn't claiming that they haven't. Just that through various events I haven't been able to play.

Or what I have played broke on me so far. New MMO I know it's common, but it's my honest experience so far.

  • This game is truly astonishing. Locations are made with solicitude and characters well animated. Gameplay is also nice, of course if u are able to connect and avoid disconnecting after several minutes. But well, it's still in beta, so it can be forgiven. Really enjoying it...

  • Alright, with playing this more I'm actually appalled at the leveling, unless I'm doing something horribly wrong I'm level 11 I need to be 12 to do the next "zone" for my main quest and I get about 10% of a level per trash clear.

This is actually :!: ridiculous how does anyone play this game, I'm not even having fun anymore.

  • SoulWorker is a pretty neat game. I like it. Though I just want to go to episode 2, but it just won't let me. I can't enter the bloody R square zone xD

Looks like I'm just going to be sitting in Control Zone 43 spamming a bunch of Maniac runs to see if I can get uniques. Already got 2 pieces, hell even found a blueprint.

EDIT: I was able to finally get in R Square after many attempts! Wee, Currently trying to farm out some Uniques before moving onto the next area. They drop like the money you receive from enemies, it's wonderful!

Edited once, last by RubyRose: typo hehe. fsdjakfhdsja ().

  • I play closers pretty activly and I would not compare both to each other that much.
I can see a differnt appeal in each and everyone of them.

Tbh I love the atmosphere of Soul Worker, since the music and the artstyle is more becoming of an anime(even though I prefer japanese voice acting and hope they will allow or make it possible to change) I love the combat, even though it is a bit slower you at least have to dodge and keep moving(even if you play the gunner like me)

I hope that the game won't rely too much on the cash shop to be sucessful in the game. Otherwise I wouldn't mind to throw in some bucks for a good costume.

I am just waiting for a bit for stable servers before I get full into the game. As for right now I will be on the forums and playing other games waiting for Soul Worker to evolve!

  • Absoultly hate it!!! (as you can tell from my avatar :P :P ) ... Since playing on the [JP] servers, I've enjoyed the game a lot. So much, that I HAD to get the Valentine outfit !! .. As for lvling, some tips I can give - each town has main story line quests, but there are side quests that can be done also. Along with that, I've seen about 4-5 'repetitive' quests from 2x - 4x each. Not bad rewards and mats for crafting. Finally, each town also has Daily Missions (little icon up by the mini-map) that reset once a day. Again good rewards and XP.

I normally do all the main / side quests and once finished, I'm way ahead of the lvl of the mobs in the dungeons.

  • Well... to be quite honest

    What I LOVE:

    1) Graphics and voices, well I just love anime

    2) Combat is quite fun and every character feels different

    3) Fashion

    4) Cutscenes with drawings. You know... the ones that tell you the character story after creation. I love it!!!

    What I HATE:

    1) In "game like" cutscenes my character is not looking like my character at all. That's disturbing : /

    2) Enviroment does not feel interactable at all. There is like 1 object I can destroy, I cant jump on almost anything in districts, I cant go into any hole I see, invisible walls are EVERYWHERE.

Its square flat room after the square flat rame room and the same room and yet again the same room with different enemies in it.

    3) Skills are too flashy, when in 3-4 people in party, I can't see smaller enemies at all.

Soo... I enjoy the game and I have fun in it, but to be quite honest if it was not the best anime graphics I saw in MMO ever I wouldn't play it at all.

I wish for standard MMO, not dungeon crawler, with similiar graphics. I'd love it more probably :P

  • There's a beautiful loli with a guitar, so far i'm enjoying it.

  • I mean, you're grinding from level 1 in every single mmo-esque game you play, assuming you have any interest AT ALL in the end game. So, bit of trick question there but you could at least be honest.

Secondly, you're comparing open-world traditionals to instance-based brawlers which are entirely different. This game's "grind" isn't odd for the genre, at all. If anything i was poking some fun at you, you're complaining is equal to me saying there is too much micro and macro in an RTS game like starcraft 2. >>

  • I agree that a action brawler is different. These games are rare these days. I miss the days of tons of anime MMOs being made and ones that has controller support!

  • Too early for me personally, most of the struggles I have had have been to be able to play it. I need to experience combat at a higher level and see how fun it is to fight Also I want to enjoy playing with guildies.

If this thread is still popular when all these things have been met, I will share what I think of this game.;)

  • Invisible walls and triggered environment all over the place. It looked bad even back in late 90s... Can't destroy much too. And as it was noted already, why do characters look different in movies?..

I got no idea, why asians consider little girls living solely for the purpose of consuming sweets all that great. Might seem cute once or twice, but mindless animalistic behaviour patterns like these are so utterly disgusting overall. The plot itself is naive and half-assed. Some small kids turning into nearly almighty entities and saving the planet just like that..Ugh, trite at best.

While I generally trust Gameforge, cash shop seems ambigious so far. I just hope, that it's possible to enhance all the way with ingame currency only. But only time will tell. The launch is horrible so far too, but that's no big news

    .

Overall, the game looks fun, following in Dragon nest's, Hero of the obelisk, Arpiel, etc footsteps, but it's still a rather simple dungeon crawler with limited content. Not quite as well balanced as Kritika too.

I'd call it 5.5/10 for now. Only time will tell. I definitely enjoy unique characters, non-target combat, difficulty, FP system and its style. Wish, interface was friendlier tho.

I dunno, how you rate this 10/10. I've yet to encounter a mmo like that. Imho, even monsters like Vanguard, WoW, Lotro, L2, similar were never even close.

  • Only thing I can say, is don't let this OB make your final decision on the game. IMO more thought on going live should of been the first topic when pushing a game out. Do not use OB to do the initial 'stress test' of the servers or the login mechanics. This should of been done in a CBT environment. Unfortunately in a open forum test, now people will get the wrong idea of the game because of the crashes, down time, lag, being stuck when entering a dungeon, etc... I know your anxious to get the game out, but PLEASE rethink the OBT! First impressions are always the ones that stick in gamers minds. Trust me, this isn't my first rodeo with OBTs :P

  • I'm sorry? I was being dead honest. Most modern games start with 1 but some old games would genuinely start you at 0. Just because you never experienced an mmo that done that to you doesn't mean it's not real. Please take my post more seriously if you think I was just wasting time.

Also, you never said it had to be specifically an "instanced based brawler". There is nothing wrong with my statement of mentioning an mmo that I've played. In fact, it doesn't even go against what you said by the slightest as all I explained was my mmo (Endless Online) makes you grind the moment you make your character.

With that all said and done please read my post correctly so there will be no misunderstanding :3 The grind in this game will probably be compared to any other stamina included mmorpg game. Grinding doesn't bother me one bit. I survived Grand Chase season 1 and 2 ;) (the grind on that too was pretty atrocious).

Sorry, can we be friends now? I don't want to throw this thread off topic or anything but I just don't like odd misunderstandings.
