What’s your opinion on the game so far?

  • I agree about the movement. It's awful at first. It gets better though. And the lack of skills is bad. That annoyed me on the JP servers too. You feel so clunky until later on when you can unlock some passives and new skills.

  • From what I've read in guides, some skills are aimed to be single target for bosses while others are AoE for mob clear. Since lower levels are mostly just mob clearing dungeons, it makes sense that we unlock AoE skills first - to help speed up the process.

Due to the lack of mobility, since you played DN, it reminds me of how DN is at low levels. Before the revamp in DN where your Dodge skill was max CD, you could only level it up every 10 levels. And at lower levels, your Dodge skill had like a 10 sec cd vs 3-4 sec at max level.

It's the same here, our "dodge" skill consumes 25 Stamina at lvl 1, and each lvl the cost goes down by 10. So by end game, dodging stuff should be a lot easier. (I've gotten stuck in AoEs because I had no Stam to dodge at lower lvls :C)

  • SoulWorker is definitely going to be one of my long time MMOs that I play! The combat is a lot of fun and sometimes the bosses are really challenging too! I hope the game stays alive long enough so that more people can enjoy it as well.

  • i got to level 11 and thats it . i had to log out and stare at my ceiling and relax.. man the dungeons are insane ..!

i myself like to play solo, and when i do.. if a group of monsters just barely touched me .. i'm almost dead. like literally 75% of my HP is gone in less than a second.. I KNOW THE GAME IS FOR PARTIES .. ITS DUNGEONS DUH !

but hope monsters' damage gets nerfed a bit when the game launches xd..

and so far i haven't completed 4 or 3 story quests in peace . i have to grind to the next level so i can continue the story quests. and thats me still in lv 10 !!!!!!! GOD what happens at high levels idk honestly
and yes i do side quests. and the same happens.. the XP acquired from the quests is so low compared to the story quests and the dungeons. it needs a little bit of fixin imo.

as for money. . Danzi or w/e its called, i think its a lot . like quests and dungs give WAY more money than they give XP
and the amount of gear that just drops randomly from mobs is disgusting :D 2 runs and my inventory is almost full.
if they make the drop system by like Greed Need Pass.. its gonna be better i guess.. idk

    But despite
EVERYTHING i said. the game is still foking awesome and amazing although i'm sad i got the black pants from the box lv 1 or so.. its so not fitting with anything i wear :(..

    In Progress . . <3

  • Maybe its because I'm getting old but I can't play games as long as I used to. I tend to get sleepy pretty quick. However, I think SoulWorker is a good casual game with a bit of difficulty as long as they keep adding content.

Its not often that I play an mmo where I actually have to try to dodge and not get killed. Normally I would just button tap and run though attacks cause the enemy don't do any damage from the start/mid game. But on this game, they do damage and attack often.

The fact that they limit your stamina on your dodge makes things interesting.

I called this causal cause there is no pvp. Normally I would never play a game without pvp but lately I've became more of a casual gamer rather than a pro gamer so your perspective on games changes depending on how you want to game.

Overall, I'd rank this fairly high.

  • other than running out of quests half way through a level, it's pretty good.

dont like needing to do 10 dungeons without quests to get to level 12 from 11 tho.

Other than that the game is great, but i cant grind something like this out, the level 10 grind wall is higher than most games level 40-41 or even 50-51.

if i cant find what im doing wrong or the game changes by level 15 im pretty sure im leaving.

  • SoulWorker Online is like CLOSERS Online but with actual 3D environment and free roam. Everything is great and more than sufficient, more than one could expect from a Anime MMORPG. Only drawback of this game is the fatigue system, which limits hardcore and competitive players like me from clearing all dungeons on all difficulties given.

I rate this game Corgi/10 because there is a Corgi in towns that run to you as soon as you appear. Corgi for days man, corgi for days.

  • I’ve played this on the JP server before and it was really enjoyable. Since then, I’ve been waiting for the NA release! Now that it’s finally here and I’ve been able to play the OBT, I have a few opinions.

As everyone said, it’s pretty grindy. Reaching level 10 took much more effort and runs than I’d had hoped. After two day’s worth of stamina, I’m barely level 17. Soloing in this game is kinda difficult, but at least people are using the auto-match function. justpraythatastellajoinsformanicmode

Also—I greatly underestimated the damage of bosses early on and used up most of my res stones... RIP. Hopefully there will be more opportunities to obtain res stones in the future.

Excited to see what PvP’ll be like. I mostly main PvP in MMORPGs like Soulworker, but PvE (with friends) is growing on me.

  • This topic is about decisions made by Gameforge that Alienate or repulse more players than they attract or keep.

ps. i got to level 60 with 3 chars in closers which is literally soul worker in 2d

I created this thread because i really enjoy the GAME itself (more than closers) and want it to be successful but

    2. far to many things outside of playing the game feel really, really, bad

    1. game has 7000 players on steam, gotta keep SOME of them if the game is going to live

The LEAST WRONG with dev decisions in this game are all the Korean MMO quirks they kept....the least wrong....the least.....

like Fatigue and Costumes dont change with equipment and enhancement, all terrible things that should never have existed.

starting at level 10 (even before) completing ALL quests will net half an xp bar, completing the easy dungeon by yourself will get about 1/20th of an xp bar. This can be fixed by running purple dungeons in a group and suicide at boss but this is defiantly going to repulse more players than it keeps.

The game in hard and monic mode are much more difficult at level 10 than most MMo's at max level, not bad in itself but this is done in a very punitive way, just getting 2 shot, or even 1 shot and with all the other problems (like leveling and lag) it feels really bad. change it so you get enough xp from quests/ normal dungeons and save the hard stuff for when the game is more deserving.

this one can't be changed but servers, why? just why?

the only thing i can find that game forge did well was translate the game without any critical failures. everything they touch is just "how can we make this as bad as possible" ive been waiting for this game for awhile and it's really good when it's working bust just uuuhhhnngggg

    All of this! Even with my gear some bosses'll do 4k+, rip all of my res stones ;__;

Same here.. The res stones I’ve wasted on lower levels would be really useful now. :(

However, I’ve come to the conclusion that +HP stat is one of the more important ones when grinding for gear and also learned to more cautious when fighting manic bosses.. due to my singular res stone sitting in my inventory

  • Finally someone said something right! ya mobs and bosses are unbalanced acutally i played JP server from CBT not only Closers also RH and never died fro low lvl dungeons, nor used lots of HP pots or need party just for 40+ dngeons sometiems or Raids in SW but they surely need be nerfed also takes ages to lvl to 10 in JP you are lv10 in less than 30mins! and 50 in just 4 days if spend for vitamin

  • IKR ? ... i used all of the pots they give me at the start. and i used all the respawners.. its just too hard !!.. i'm sure if i played ONLY with team that all wouldnt happen. but still its low levels come on xd

    In Progress . . <3

  • It was certainly easier for early progression in JP, granted one of the bigger reasons for this is that many players started playing JP during events which made leveling and progress significantly easier (e.g. burning fatigue).

The soloing experience gets easier as you reach Candus City. It's pretty tough in Rocco Town. Then after Candus City you start to see difficulty again depending on your class and how much you prepared when it came to gear, or if you decided to splurge on enhancements or not.

It's refreshing to play a dungeon crawler MMO where you are penalized for being hit, as opposed to numerous others I've played where it pretty much felt like mobs tickled until endgame. I think the movement and hit detection can be jarring for new players, but it's something they get used to by the time they reach the second city for the most part.

  • EXP Rate is way to low

Forced to play with others to even get some decent exp

Why do they always do this fiddling with % where they have no clue what they're doing

im already tired of this can't be botherd

Playing in a party is not always better. Dungeons get stronger with more people in the party resulting in possible slower runs and lower scores which then leads to less exp.

    LMAO:sleeping:

  • So after several disconnects in the dungeon(s), and login issues, I'm gonna hold off playing until OBT matures more. I hate wasting time playing a game that I get disconnected and/or can't log into. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the game, but not like this. I feel if I continue to play this 'version' of the game, I'll not want to play it when it comes out 'live'. For now its BDO and SoulWorker [JP].

Solo for days man, solo for days. Only if Fatigue System wasn't there though.
