Dissatisfied already with the information policy in this game

  • Hi,

this thread is not about when the servers are coming back. It is about the bad wording of many of the latest announcments.

    1. The policy regarding server wipe was not good communicated. Theres no real info if the servers will be wiped. It just states vague that sever wipe is a possibilty.

I found this in regard and with comparison of other MMORPG companies poor communication.

You could either declare if a server wipe was planned from the beginning of if a server wipe will only be done under certain conditions.

Thats the minimum information you should provide and which other companies usually provide. This has not happened.

    2. If you communicate that servers will be back in a short time, then specific it and give a timeframe (it can be generous) but give a timeframe.

I know you sometimes cant give a specific timeframe. Then say it. But dont say short time, it is misleading!

If you say you need 6 hours, i can do somehting else and i wont be mad if it is shorter than 6 hours.

But telling me its a short time is vague and makes me check every 10 minutes. Thats bad!

I have some very bad experiences with gameforge and i'am extremly sceptical.

  • Meh i think the guy is right they say a sort while that was over 2 hours ago there lack of feed back is just pure bad.

Many of us will be looking to put money in this game and for us to do so we need to be happy we know we are putting money into a game that will last and our money has been well spend.

They released the game to the general public and the server is beyond ready and has crushed the reviews already on steam lets be real here if gameforge has any chance of making more money and keeping this game steady they need to up there game and treat there customers with respect.

  • Just another bellyaching post.

Nice the white Knights without any arguments jump to the rescue, where no rescue was needed.

I see a new game making all the mistakes other games made before. You think i didn't saw Archage sink. I was there when Warhammer burned down. I was there when Gameforge burned a whole universe to the ground. So i speak my mind, if you really have something to add beside white knight trolling. Do it.

This is not 1990, where we can all be thankful to have a free game, which this is not, they are a monetized buisness model.

I just ask if theres a better customer service possible. Compared to the other games out there. If not my disposable income will be spent elsewhere.

This is not the only anime hack & slay MMPORG out there, but admitingly the best looking one so far.

  • In all fairness, there is nothing really vague about how they worded things.

They've outlined the basic things we need to be aware of while playing, so expectations of a stable, bug-free experience shouldn't really be on anyone's mind- unless they haven't read this post yet.

To ensure the live release is a smooth one, we need your help. Test the game in the open beta and give us your feedback.

We will be looking at and tuning the balance during the test phase. As a result, it may well be that the release version of SoulWorker then ends up somewhat different to its beta form. We will also be testing the server stability, which may lead to server issues and emergency maintenances.

The in-game shop will only be stocked with a selection of free test items initially.

Get plenty of them, and above all, test to ensure that you actually receive the test items.

Note: There is a possibility that we may have to reset all accounts. We will provide more details on this as soon as we are able to.

  • Threads like this is starting to feel like spam (like my post since I'm posting in it . . . sowwie). Either way, because the game is in beta for testing and fixes. Depending on where the road goes for us, we'll get a wipe if something that's deemed necessary while on the other hand, with it only being minor problems such as lag and translation; we won't get a wipe.

You should know you approve of this since you decided to play the beta. Don't worry about anything until it becomes official.

Again, Beta. The point of which is to expect bugs/miscommunication etc. This is not a full release yet. We the players find these problems and report them, it's how a beta works.

We lowkey really need a Feedback area on these forums.

  • It's GameForge, set expectations low & be happy the game is being localized.

I understand it can be frustrating, but they're known for being vague on the details. No point in debating other users about it, threads like these never change company policy.

Furthermore, it's a little too early to start this discussion anyway. It's launch things are hectic & broken. Servers are down, they're frankly pre-occupied with getting things working, as they should be.

Once we're out of beta, servers are stable an they start to monetize things. Then sure it's time to have this discussion, until that point it's honestly a waste of time.

  • Hello,

I can understand it can be frustrating but saying “yes” or “no” right now will just lead to misinformation. Since we are in the Open Beta phase, we can only mention “if it’s needed”. We will make sure to provide a fixed answer as soon as we are able to.

Regarding maintenance announcement, as mentioned in the Open Beta news, we are also testing the server stability, which sometimes lead to server issues and emergency maintenances. Giving a timeframe for an emergency fix can be really complicated (and lead to false expectation!).

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Amen, it's sickening watching the little kids show up to screech at the one person actually writing out proper criticism. It's like they see well written dialogue and something in their brains just goes off and they lose their minds.

    "Beyond ready"

It's Beta. How do people skip this piece of text?

Beta does not excuse the lack of communication with players. In fact beta is when good companies communicate MORE with players coordinating to make sure the game launches as smoothly as possible. But Gameforge doesn't seem interested in communicating, and judging from responses like yours and kajidourden I'm beginning to understand why they might stay away.
