Character Slot Visual Bug (merged topics)

I noticed this happens occasionally, I'll log into one of my characters, and when I log out to Character Select, all my characters are gone and I have to change servers and back or quit the game and reopen it for them to appear. Currently I'm able to resolve it on my end, just wanted to point it out.

Definitely not game breaking, a minor annoyance at best.

You can see the Server is the same, but I can't prove anything other than that.

Seems like it's just a bug with character select. Instead of going to character select when you want to switch character, it seems to be faster to reload the game instead of switching servers and back again.

I just encountered a bug after logging out of the game to character select where both my characters were not showing and was given the option to create a new character in their place.

Closing the game and opening it again cause my characters to reaper.

Think twice before making a new character if this happens to you idk your old character may be deleted in favor of the new one.

Mine when I selected change character in options, then I can no longer/ use the Quit Game button since it doesn't work, after I restarted the game, the characters are back.

Yea, same. I have to close/open every time I want to switch characters.

I noticed that after clicking on the button that says "Switch Character", the game client says "Disconnect in 3.. 2.. 1". Afterwards, I am brought back to the character selection screen where I cannot see any of my characters. When I am on this screen, I can no longer click on any of the buttons besides "Settings".

I noticed that when you try switching characters by clicking on "Select character", you get a pop up that says "Disconnecting in 3.. 2.. 1..." However, upon disconnection, you are put into a screen where your characters are not available nor can you click on "Quit game" or "Change server". However, you are able to click on "Settings".

My guess is that the account is fully disconnected instead of being in the "logged in" stage, thus resulting in the dysfunctional buttons.

Is there something going on with the NA server? I"ve been trying to login but I've been getting errors such as this one:

The NA server might be having issues, so it should be down for now.

So my game now has fullscreen again but all of my characters are gone . along with the server i was on ?

I no longer get this bug when I switch characters but instead I get this bug

I could be pressing the wrong button without realizing it but I'm certain it was switch character

It's not 100% of the time but it happens repeatedly.

This might be a temporary solution to the problem.

I found out if you go change character and don’t press the log out button immediately and instead let the timer run out, you won’t encounter the bug where your characters are missing.

This has worked every time for me so far.

After change into character sceen , i didn't see any of my chars are display on screen , and i have to reset game's launcher to make my chars available again .

this bug is so annoying that force me to restart the game

After several maintenance this problem persists, even waiting for the countdown to change character does not work because it can happen that you do not appear all your characters. In error extremely annoying and potentially serious error for those who give you to create a new character.

When selecting "Select Character" from the in game menu (Already playing a character at this point), I get put into the character screen with all my character not appearing. While in that screen you can't make a new character, select switch server, or close the game. At this point you're force to close the game via Task manager and reopening it.

Way around this is to return to server select then return to the server you were in, lastly select the character you want to play. hope this get fixed soon.

Edit: After rewatching that video, i saw a messege. Interesting so it the same bug with when trying to switch servers aswell.

The messege says "The game is being stopped becuase of an attempt to log on the account"

So, it seem the game get confuse when i try to switch chars.

In a technical perspective, I'm assuming the program sends out two or more request to enter the character screen thus resulting into this error.

Well, it will send out multiple request so it can reach the server(standard networking), but the problem is when the server end up recieving the same request multiple time and it does not know that it was sent by the same user(uselly cause by delay on one or more request messeges). Thats the main problem. So, need to either reject consecutive request in a small time frame or add another layer on the request messege that identify that its the same user sending the request and using that to determine that the request is just a dupe and resend a recieved messeg to the user that sent the request.

Original Post: Character disappearing from character selection screen.

This morning, after creating a pair of dummy characters and logging out of the game without any problem, I found the unpleasant surprise of seeing that, on the login, my main character was misteriously disappeared from my list, leaving behind a tab for the creation of a new char. I didn't delete it, and my friends in game report that they still see my char in their friends list. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

I already submitted a ticket, 'cause I really hope that my char is not gone since, as I saw in a post before this, on deletion it says that the info about every character are effectively removed from the servers 7 days after deleting them in game.
