Gold Spammers

all we can do is report them to death.
Is there a report featuree? When selecting them I only see a block function.
There really should be a Report function in game.....

become the most secure game. then the bots will be stopped

Can't you just force all players to use their cell/home phones? Confirm through their phones after sign up via text or call. Put a block on free phone services or disposable number which shouldn't be hard.

isnt that a thing they do in KR/JP just to prevent ppl from "botting"? also don't they also ask for your SS# as well?

Yes, I do believe they ask for something similar to a SS# but we don't need to go that far xD
edit - basically, an attempt at botting registry won't happen unless they get several sim cards which cost money. This will be a hard blow to botters I think. Ofc the same number can't be used either.

Maybe not "force" directly, since lot of players won't even go further inscription
How about :
You can play the game as you want without your phone but to enable trades in game you have to register your phone ?
It will increase account security btw

Yea, thats even better actually.

The one way to truly stop bots is to not invest into them. If noone purchases gold, the bots cease existing. No matter what countermeasure you can think of, there will be a workaround. ie: special individual numbers being stolen by botting companies to be spammed at every new mmo that comes out.

There's lots of countermeasure that they can try. They just need to pick a few and implement them.
- Banning phrases or website links
- Banning phrases that are repeated over a threshold
- Banning accounts under a certain level that are overly spamming chat
- Automatically updating blacklist of phrases
-
Its 2018...how is this still an issue in some games?

its a cruel cruel world my friend. It happens to a lot of games. BnS, Mabinogi, and other games that require money in game. (i haven't seen it in Closers yet. thats a plus.)

My favorite method is what Black Desert does where you can make your own word blacklist. It's been extremely effective for me.

Human error factor.

Gold selling is almost entirely a western market, so generally only western devs/pubs make stopping it a big priority.
