Did someone notice enemy hit harder than the Japanese version?

  • Don't think it's a matter of masochistic tendency, though. There's something nice about a boss that poses an actual threat to me as a player.

Though, yes, I do agree that getting one-shot by an early game boss isn't pleasant, especially with the revives being quite limited as it is. Maybe when the game gets its official start, there'll be more ways to get those revival items.

  • are you kidding me, raid bosses should be the one's who one-shotting you, not low level bosses, its so frustrating getting half ur HP drained from one hit and the another to finish u off when u don't have a nice stack of rez T.T why do u all think its enjoyable and rewarding to be killed easily, are u all masochists?

This sounds elitist, but I really don't mean it that way - learn to play.

    That's the tl;dr.

Everyone has to start somewhere, I get that. I'm not a veteran myself, even though I've played on JP before (didn't get far however). I guess a good way to start would be to pay attention to boss animations. Bosses, as well as some monster, have Super Armor. Meaning that they won't flinch when you hit them. You have to be extra careful, don't get greedy with damage dealing. It's better to take two steps back to prevent a hit, instead of going all out in hopes to kill the enemy.

You have a ddge mechanic for every character. It's different for every character. Learn to utilize it properly. Don't mindlessly dodge, play it safe. You dodging is bound to your stamina, so make sure to have an eye on that. Trial and error. You will get the hang of it, I'm sure about that.

Also, most attacks have visible indicators on the ground. Make sure you avoid those! Red means danger!

If you still feel like it's too hard, play in party and bring a Stella along. Stella can switch her stance with right click and send out powerful healing spells, most prominent ones being Phantom Trail and Orb Song.

That's all I can think of for now. If you still struggle, maybe check the Guides section or watch some Youtube videos.

Any of y'all remember this little dude?

Without a doubt the most annoying boss I've faced so far. He'd fare better as a high level boss, giving this little shit as a low level boss to newcomers is sadism. That's just asking to get kidnapped and beaten to death for creating him.

It's clearly not intentional to make it so hard but seeing as it still uses the old old korean build it's quite unfortunate.

Nah, It's just nice to finally have a game in this genre that is actually challenging. Are people's learning curves different? Yeah. But I mean you can always party with folks, plus learning how to dodge and do stuff early will benefit you since knowing endgame stuff will be even harder than this stuff.

I also think.. that is a fault of the creators these days. They really cater to the casual audience to the point where stuff is too easy to beat even if it's enjoyable, you naturally lose the side that yearns to pushed to the edge during a fight. Having something like this will make players realize not all games are easy and it's good to have a game that pushes players to limits, especially helping folks learn to not get hit at early game... trust me I dislike going endgame and watching people get smashed because they think they can tank stuff like early/mid-game.

He is also in Steel Grave a lot in Chapter 5 and up >.>

I actually learned how to dodge his skills from doing Steel Grave xD You can use your dodge to dodge through his bomb, since your dodge is an iframe so you won't get stunned foooorrreeever >.>

  • High risk = high reward?

If somebody think that it is "TOO MUCH" then there's always normal difficulty for you.

I find it silly how those causal games just make you "-pfft..." on all those red circles, cones etc. on the ground, when you just can take all damage in your face and keep beating that poor boss with no mercy, who can't do anything to you. I think they must wear purple ribbons how easy difficulty bosses do in "I wanna be the Boshy".

There we have Closers where you can put coin between keyboard buttons press right/up/left arrow and it clear all early dungeons with highest score on highest difficulty for you, but there's no fun in that.

Can't clear dungeon? Then you need level/gear up little bit more or learn mechanics.

  • Look.

I'm playing this game because Ilike a challenge. I like things to be mind-bogglingly difficult, because I feel that much better when I beat it.

SoulWorker is not mind-bogglingly difficult. But it is challenging enough that I don't feel like I was handed the boss kill along with my bib and baby formula.

This game is not Dark Souls level of bullshittery; its very fair in how bosses telegraph their attacks, and most can be easily handled as long as you anticipate whats happening next.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is...

  • Now, now. No need to slam the "git gud" Yamato. I believe you made your point quite clear with your statement without the pic.

  • Is it only me? because when I played the Japanese version last year I barely use any potions at all.

It feels to me like the Defense numbers on gear do not scale very well right now, so that i believe is definitely something that could be looked at.

I don't know who or how many Devs they brought over to work on this version, but Defense is definitely broken somewhat.

  • I never died with Stella ever on steel graves on any of the 15 lvls and i did 6 times today on ch 10 amaryllis of this version of the game, some enemies on that thing are just disgusting tbh, she one shoted me with ONE single projectile from her spinning attack, and i have 24k hp and 5.7k def, that is just absurd, not to mention the bug of stella ulty on amaryllis is still present making the fight even more of a joke to do, meanwhile the rest of the chapter could be done by my dog playing the game, shrugs.
