Help me choose one character to main

haru is melee sword dps

erwin is ranged dps.

if you like melee dps go with haru but if you like ranged dps go with erwin..

I'm not an expert on either but my favorite thing about Erwin is his extreme mobility compared to everyone else. Haru I'm not exactly sure about but I can say she does quite a lot of damage and most of her attacks can break super armor pretty quickly from my experience.

Beyond all that it's probably best to look up videos or guides on how they operate and it'll be easier to form your own preference on them.

you should at there advancements and see if that helps you decide

Haru is the god of panty shots :v

Erwin specializes in high consistent bossing damage, and is very very mobile compared to other characters. His attacks have focused hitboxes and require some aiming with the crosshair. He sometimes struggles with mobbing because of this, but when played right is nigh untouchable.

Haru is an all-rounder; she does decent in everything but isn't the best at anything, and this is both good and bad. Her attacks have decent attack and SA break, and are very useful for mobbing, but don't do anything special for bosses. She is sturdier than Erwin but on average does less DPS than him.

I'd clearly recommend Stella to pretty much anyone. But I'm weird that way so that's ok

If I'd have to choose between those two I'd go for Erwin. More survivability due to not necessarily having to be close to the enemies. Also he seems to pack slightly more of a punch.
