SUDDEN IP-BLOCKS? (merged topics)

  • Which store page, the game or the cash shop? There has been an absolute ton of issues with the latter.

Just recently from steam store page, I am from Indonesia and i have my friends want to play Soul Worker from steam. But they said they can't find Soul Worker on steam, they try to access directly from the website and it said was not currently available in your country.
So i guess it will be IP Block later on, but im not sure.

This is a issue with your country and not the game itself. I've heard stories of where people from your country are region locked when it comes to paypal etc too. it's most likely because the game does not meet your countries standards and therefore it's not available, this might change later on.

But it could be that. and if thats the case you'd need a vpn sadly.

  • Confirmed IP blocks in Brazil, Australia, NZ, SEA!

Did they just block every IP outside the original server regions?

    Source?

Info from other players and checked the store with multiple VPNs of the said countries.

Needs testing on official website though.

I still hope that this is just a temporary thing and there will be a fix.

    wrong

there have been ppl in NA region that got blocked aswell but that count towards Southern America for gameregions

IP blocks are only gamebased. Maybe a company bought the right for SEA and oceania and therefore they decided to ban those. Its a common thing in asia mmos to ban the regions where other companies try to make money out of those (black desert, dragonnest, kritika, MU legends - though there its webzen for all and they just like to restrict ppl...) it's stupid yet sadly its standard.

Ofc there are banned games for countries.. but those dont include whole regions but only a country in its own unles they have an altered version (f.e. WoW where they removed skeletons, Pubg where they made blood green.. in china)

  • I can say with some certainty from what i experienced working with My(dot)com back in 2016-2017 that there is this type of work ethic in European countries among the video game industry in which the weekends are the universal "Let's all go to the pub" days for video game devs and publishing staff.

I don't know if that's fully the case with GameForge, but it's probably a safe bet. xD

  • They should really address this.

If the IPblock is official what will happend to those who already playing and can still play?

The worst case scenario is players outside NA, including me, will be block too on official release after open beta :(

This is what im thinking too. I cant bring myself to play the game with this looming around....

Was planning on playing the game this weekend too, I really enjoyed it tho I only played for a short time...

  • You just basically said what i did????

A country being banned means that its IP blocked. and only way to access it is through a vpn

And this game is represented by Gameforge, meaning that the company decided to ban THE GAME in the country thats restricted

You can't go and tell someone that they are wrong and then say the same thing just put in different words.

  • Same. I really got hooked to this game when I tried it.

Now based on the replies that I''ve read above, I think the probability that SEA gamers might likely banned in official release since there is a SEA server announcement since 2016: http://mmoculture.com/2016/09/…st-asia-region-announced/

But I'm tired waiting for SEA server so I really hope this is just a temporary thing and there will be a fix just like what Haise said.

  • Ahem it's not just a country anymore which is region blocked. Did you even read my post above?

  • That doesnt have anything to do with Indonesia being banned???

We're talking about that country, not NA, not Australia, But about Indonesia.
And his country is banned from the game. What are you even talking about?

I don't see why you have any need to tell me im wrong and go "no it's wrong because its banned in more regions" Then it isnt wrong from the beginning. he has no use of that information to why he's ip restricted it wouldnt help him.

  • Do you honestly believe they will just ban Indonesia? No, I don't think so.

Indonesia is also a part of the SEA, that's why he wasn't able to find SW on steam anymore.

I never said they will ONLY ban Indonesia, i told him he can't connect most likely because they banned his country.

What is the point of this like?????

  • Let's just wait for their official announcement on this matter. I just wanted to confirm the region block in many countries is real and many of us were overhyped to play SW after it's release on NA and EU.
