SUDDEN IP-BLOCKS? (merged topics)

  • The only company to blame here is Smilegate who owns the publishing rights to SEA and South America. It's clearly they are behind this IP block.

And I'm pretty sure they don't have plans to release servers for these regions anytime soon and yet they don't want us to play in another server. Funny, huh?

  • I would like to release the game for the region of Latin America, being more specific Brazil. Well on steam he is not "liberated for your region" and I really liked what I saw in taisers and trailers, I would like to be part of the game, play, help and have fun. Thanks and good game to all.

  • Information regarding region block

    That is why.
Nothing GameForge can do about that.

My 'why' was rhetoric, I know the the reason. It's just a stupid and bullshit reason. I really hope all my progress isn't lost and if LATAM gets a server I get to play again with my account. I don't want to start from scratch after so many good drops and much progress. I was almost level 30 a few hours ago.

    Bullshit reason?
It's in their contract to do this if the developer or other publishers tell them to do so.

I understand it's frustating but that is how business works.

There is nothing this forum or GF can do for you :(

  • Holy shit, they just blocked Latin America a few hours ago. I can no longer play, why!!

Still working for me. Where are you from, and what error do you get?

I'm from Brasil, SP. I'm blocked too! Although steam version steel works, all my progress was on the official client account! Sad =(

Oh maybe that's why. I'm using the steam version.

Unless your account was banned, your progress still remains. You just gotta find a way *wink* to download the steam *wink* game *wink*.

Did you logout in the past hour?

    I just logged in.

  • Who're from NA/EU saying they gonna go back JP, you did pretty well.

I won't be surprise if GF gonna ask the publisher from JP server put an IP block back to us aswell.

Keep in mind, if some publisher can ask GF to blocked SEA player.

GF also have a right to ask other publisher to block NA/EU player for playing JP aswell.

  • you guys from blocked regions are seriously overestimating your contribution to the game lmao

Couldn't it be you're the one underestimating it?
Of course, not everyone from the blocked regions will splurge on the cash shop. However, the most important thing you're missing is population. Those servers which had a lot of players from the now IP blocked regions will suffer greatly.

There are the EU servers, for example. Half of it's population was from South America, if not more. The NA servers, as well, have a lot of people from both SEA and SA.

Nothing's worse than playing an MMO that feels like a ghost town. Sure, right now it might not be noticeable, but give this game a year or two, and you'll WANT more people to play.

  • You should know the answer. I'm not at liberty to say anything more than that, the internet censoring is real. If you don't get why, you should spend more time in real world rather than sit at the computer all day.

Taking in consideration new anime-esque MMORPGs are born each year, this could apply to every game launching in 2018. Unless they're updated actively every 2-3 weeks It's bound to turn into a ghost town in about 2 years and It could stay for about 4 years If the game is original (which, sadly, doesn't applies to SoulWorker, as It's mostly Dragon Nest with a post-apocalyptic skin).

It's simply bound to happen, by default.

People tend to overestimate the popularity of this kind of games, but commonly the non-casual players go play MMORPGs with great population and communities, as FFXIV, WoW or GW2, for example, as most of the time there won't be a clone launching in a year or two. Just look at the MMORPG subreddit: people really hate anime-esque games in there, due to how generic and easy to clone they're.

I don't really support the IP Block tho, as I think more people playing is always better.
