Junk Hive guide

  • Questions and Answers

    Q: This guide is TL;DR.

A: Protect the generators at the start for 3 minutes, then stand in the light circle to receive a buff that'll protect you against the explosion. In the second room, activate the mechanisms in side rooms to give everyone a big damage buff. Use this buff to kill the miniboss. Make sure to inform your party members when you're going to activate a device. Also take care to save all of your most damaging skills/cards for when you have the damage buff. Only activate one buff at a time, and go for another buff if your current buff runs out. The rest of the dungeon is easy, remember to destroy the cocoons that will heal all enemies/boss in range. Read the rest of this guide if you want to learn how to clear it fast and efficiently.

    How to access Junk Hive

Junk Hive is the 2nd casual raid dungeon, located on the left part of Candus City. To access it, you must finish the previous casual raid and proceed with the chain of raid quests. The quest to unlock portal to Junk Hive is given by Brock in Candus City (she will give you this quest as long as you completed all previous raid quests). This dungeon is pretty easy. Focus on protecting the 4 generators in the first room. Apart from that, make sure to follow the advice below to clear the dungeon as fast as possible. Making the dungeon take more time than necessary is not appreciated by anyone in your party.

    Recommended Gear/AR Cards

The dungeon is easy enough that you can clear it even with level 45 blue gear. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need Steel Grave MK II or MK III gear for this dungeon. You should pick up gear that has HP bonuses, Crit Rate, Crit Damage, Attack, Attack Speed. It doesn't matter if it's level 45-55 blue gear or level 35-55 yellow gear. As long as it has some of the good stats mentioned above, you'll be perfectly fine.

For AR Cards, pick up Deus Ex Machina/Junk Knight/Arachnis to deal AoE Damage. Other good cards are the standard ones: Glutton Army, Rita, Big Puppet, and other AR Cards that give you more damage capabilities.

    Drops

This dungeon, similar to all other casual raids, drops:

    - Tritanium/Irregular Stones/Common Materials (used to craft Raid gear)

    - Blueprints to craft Raid gear

    - Raid Accessories (which come in 2 different sets)

    - BP (Booker Points) - you get more BP with better dungeon rank

    - Elemental shards (only in Elemental Mode, which will be available in the future update)

    - Tickets to enter Golden Citadel (not guaranteed - we might start off with an update that removes GC ticket altogether, so you won't need any ticket to enter Golden Citadel)

    First area

Activate the device in the middle to start the dungeon. In this room, you'll have to protect the 4 generators from enemies for 3 minutes. Each generator that gets destroyed will add 1 minute to the timer, which wastes a lot of time. If all 4 generators are destroyed, you'll fail the dungeon and be teleported outside.

The key to protecting those generators is to grab the aggro of mobs. You do it by hitting them once/twice, so they start following you. By doing so, they will no longer try to attack the generators. Keep an eye on where the mobs spawn and keep hitting them to get their attention away from the generators. You don't have to kill them at all, they will automatically die once the timer runs out, and they will give you drops as well. Keep focused on hitting mobs that are moving towards the generators. If you have multiple party members, assign positions so that two people don't end up going for the same mobs. You can also use AR Cards such as Deus Ex Machina, Junk Knight or Spider Queen to attack enemies in a very large area. You can also try to use Asphalt Golem (3-star version) to grab aggro of mobs, but it's not required of course.

The generators will change color to indicate how much HP they have left. Gray/Blue color means it has high HP. Yellow means it has about 50% HP. Red means it has critical health and will be destroyed after a few more hits. Don't let any generators die, or you'll have to defend the rest of them for additional 1 minute.

After the timer runs out, stand in the center (inside the yellow circle) to get a buff that will protect you against the big explosion. Once you get this buff (green icon near the top of your screen), you are free to exit the yellow circle and collect the drops while the explosion is taking place. You don't have to stand in the yellow circle all the time during the explosion.

    Second area

The miniboss in this area has a lot of HP. The only fast way to defeat him is by operating the devices in the side rooms to give your party a damage boost.

Have one or two people run to the left room, while someone activates the device in the middle. People on the left have to kill all mobs in that room, then activate the device to give every party member a huge damage boost. The damage buff runs out after approximately 15-20 seconds, so make sure to save all of your most damaging skills/cards for when you receive the buff. You can see the remaining duration of the buff by looking at the buff icons at the top of your screen. Make sure to inform your party members when you're going to activate the device, so that they don't end up wasting their most damaging skills when they don't have the buff. If you inform them a few seconds before using the device, they can summon their Big Puppet gold balls before they get the damage buff, so they can break the gold ball to activate no-cooldown right when they receive the damage buff.

If two people went to a side room, it's best if one of them goes back to the middle room before the second one activates the device. This will maximize your damage potential. If your damage buff ran out and the boss is still not dead, proceed to the room on the right and repeat the process. In that room, don't stand in the middle or you'll be silenced for a few seconds and you won't be able to use skills. If the second room's buff wasn't enough to kill the miniboss, proceed to the room to the north and repeat the process.

    Third area

In this room, the most important point is to drag all mobs to the area connecting the corridor and the big room, so that you can quickly kill all of the mobs at the same time with AoEs. Have one person go to the hallway and wait there for a few seconds until all the mobs spawn. Another person should stay in the big room to aggro mobs that will spawn there after about 10 seconds. Once all the mobs have spawned, drag them all together to where the 2 rooms connect. Use your AoEs to kill them all quickly. Make sure the mobs are not standing in the healing pods, otherwise they'll keep getting healed and waste your time. Also, don't use your Deus Ex Machina cards too soon, or you'll paralyze the mobs before they can group up together, which will end up wasting a lot of time.

    Fourth area

In this room simply drag all the mobs together and kill them with AoEs. They will spawn in a few waves, so keep killing them. Don't bother with killing the tentacles, they are not required to proceed to the next room, and they don't drop anything.

    Boss area

First of all, kill all healing pods so that the boss doesn't get healed. Once that's done, try to armor break the boss before he digs underground. Use your skills that have the highest SA Break stats. You cannot damage the boss when he's underground, and it wastes a lot of time if you let that happen. Once the boss is SA-broken, use up all of your most damaging skills/cards to hopefully kill him quickly. Repeat the process until he's dead. He doesn't have any dangerous attacks or mechanics, so it's not worth mentioning them.
