Make Cash Shop items tradable ingame

  • Hey,

so since the cash shop opened, a lot of topics have been coming up. But none seemed to talk about this specific issue.

Some items on the cash shops are for the person who bought them only. Which in my opinion, is a decision that doesn't seem to have much thought behind it, like pay to watch Youtube channels.

If the trading block wasn't there, the items could be made available for people who might not have the money, but would still be bought from the cash shop. So Gameforge would still earn money from them. You might even have people buying items they don't need or wouldn't have bought, just to sell them and make money off of them. So in the end, everyone in the playerbase as well as Gameforge would benefit from it.

What is your opinion on this?

  • It's a decent gifting option although i'd rather prefer a "gift" button if that was an option.

It does create openings to buy Dzernai instantly, but in my experience so far getting more Dzernai isn't an issue for me.

  • i don't know how it is with costumes(am not ingame right now) but when i looked at hairstykes....it said tradeable

i am pretty sure that goes for costumes too...seeing there are fashion tabs in the market

The fashion items yes, but one very important item, the skill reset, isn't. Those are the kinds of items people might actually really need. You can already get a couple of costumes ingame. Maybe I should rephrase my OP.

ah sorry ...i only thought about the fashion items...because in most games in know, that are like soul worker (anime style)nothing except for fashion was tradeable... and sadly i am pretty sure that will stay that way here too

    o) over here

    It's free real estate

But yeah on the sidenot, I would think a skill reset should be something tradable. Since costumes seem to be, that looks good to me.

  • To be honest I am not a fan of making CS items tradable. It makes money flow to fast and in to high quantity from one person to another. For economic reason I want the large "piles of gold" stay were they are. Complete F2P a game is an illusion and a very naiv way of thinking in my opinion. So yes, I would actually prefer if noting would be tradable.

Don't get me wrong, I am completly fine with gifts if it is forbidden to take money for those. I simply don't want ingame cash to change persons with as little effort as loading up for a cash shop item. The value of ingame money should be bound to things produced by playing the game only.

There have been games in the past like Black Desert Online that had a perfectly stable economy even though all the outfits and cash shop items were postable on the market. Although, I think a more logical solution would just be to add a simple gift button option for everything instead of making everything tradeable or not tradeable, it will eliminate the swapping of large amounts of money and fix some concerns.

Also RMT is an issue every mmorpg faces, be it free to play, subscription, or buy to play. If people are so worried about RMT and how it affects the ingame economy just don't do it lol.
