Justifying hair prices.

  • Erwin2.pngI had an epiphany!

    Why are hairstyles $20?
It's because you're stuck with it forever unlike other games.
Once you buy that hairstyle....you can still freely switch to any other hairstyles you own.

Normally a reasonable hairstyle price will be $10, but if you got bored of it or saw something better. You'd have to pay another $10 AND lose the older one you previously bought.

You're paying $20 for a hairstyle that will last forever....even if you buy a new one.

You're free to change between them.

$40 bucks for a costume though. I can't justify that.

  • I guess that's justifiable but, it's still pretty overpriced if you ask me. Hairstyles in Vindictus are only 10$ for example, and in that game, you can switch your hairstyles as they are an equippable item of the sorts. In the other versions of this game (inb4 lol na is supposed to be different), they're 5$ or so. And you can most likely switch at will. Not even remotely close to 20$. So, in perspective of that, we are quite literally being ripped off for no actual reason at all.

  • Im not the type of player who is a costume maniac but its my first time seeing/hearing someone says that you will lose your hairstyle if you change it with another one.. afair most games i played you can completely change your hairstyles to however you want without losing them.. not to mention their prices are like 8-10 bucks..

The only case I could really name is Dragon Nest. I haven't heard of other games doing it since they usually have a hairstyle costume slot to begin with.

I agree with you there, but it does make me feel alot better when it comes to supporting the game.

Black Desert, arguably one of the more popular "recent" MMOs don't let you keep any hairstyle you want. It is about 8USD a pop. Probably more than that since you can't buy an exact 8 dollars worth of pearls, so just say 10 dollars per change.

  • So...what's the difference between this and a hairstyle costume piece that you can equip...? That costs at most $10 in other games...?

  • I think i'm just really used to games not having a fashion slot for hairstyles. There are games like Vindictus that i've played that do have one, but it didn't cross my mind.

Still something to think about i would hope.

I do feel a bit better about it, but I still feel ripped off. At least there's a pro to it.
The problem is not only it's price, but how we get less for our dollar. Not a lot of people are gonna spend money on this game, and I hope they realize that. Whales will, but for how long...?

If they made our ratio's 1:1 w/ the soul cash, 500 for 5$ USD, this problem would literally alleviate itself. + 1 free skill tree reset would also be amazing, since we don't get one in our level box for some god forsaken reason. Just give it at the level 55 box, or let us get one for free in the cash shop, one per character.

I know with the Soul Cash ratio, we're getting less for spending 5$ because USD is worth less, but if they even made it 500 soul cash and you had to spend 6.21 USD (which is what it converts to), then I'm sure a lot of people would be fine with that too. The main issue we're facing is how much we have to spend because we have to buy *multiple* times, or just a 50$ to get *2* items, which in turn, costs much more money.
As it stands, spending 100$ and getting 17000 or whatever it was, when EU spends 100$ and they get 22500 is a rip off. I'm sure a lot of people would rather spend the 120$ and get 22500 because of EU conversions.

I don't think a lot of people would mind spending an extra 10 buck for a 50$ if they had the same Soul Cash ratio's as EU, and same as I said earlier, an extra 20 for 100$.

EDIT: Add a 25$ option too, that's definitely needed. That, or 30$. You have to have an inbetween from 20 to 50.
