Nor'easter Storm Quinn Causing widespread power outages on East Coast.

Right now the North East is being rocked by one of the worst Winters we've seen in years, and we know that the Data Center for NA is located on the East Coast.

With the very high amount of power outages occurring, i would not be surprised that some of these Data Centers in key locations are being impacted by this storm.

So if people are not seeing the North American server in the server selection screen, (And this is just me speculating now, but..)Winter Storm Quinn could very possibly be one of the reasons behind it.

Hmmm this is the first i'm hearing of this storm. Still the NA server isn't just down for some.. its down for all. So i don't know if this could be a cause but if it is. Would be nice if some form of message was given to the player base letting us know that. Then it could totally be understandable.

If their server is located in the North East that's the server for everyone, if that is down the NA server in general is down. It's not a server for each part of NA.

Anyways, I knew about the storm but didn't think about putting the two together. Although before the servers actually went down we were getting that repeated announcement in game, which shouldn't have anything to do with a power outage since if the power is out... it is out.

Either way, let's hope things will be fine.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason but they could just tell us that instead of merging threads into an older thread that isn't relevant to the issue.

According to trace-route / ip lookups, the NA server is in West Virginia... maybe.

Yeah, this has been a weird start for year in terms of Weather.

Although Texas takes the cake for weird weather hands-down; my WoW friends tell me all sorts of wild tales regarding Texas's unnatural weather patterns. xD

Oh yes!

I heard it snowed there before and I was like "waaaaaaaaat", cause that's usually not a good sign, it means the wind speeds up there must be crazy for it to snow, it usually means hurricanes, and look what happened, 7 hurricanes came in a row lol....

I'm 100% sure there will be another topic about why NA server is not working. :))

Some poeple don't bother to read sometimes.
