Pay 2 Win

  • So pay to win is more of a slider than it is a Bullet point.

let's be realistic here. Cash shops sell an array of things, It's where the player themselves decide to draw the line.

    From one extreme: Cosmetics only

This whoooole lot of empty space in here is where players decide where to draw their line of what's "P2W"

To Another extreme: Making it so the best gear in the game that takes months to get is outright purchasable be it RNG or direct buy to inventory.

However a word to the wise, If a game is FREE TO PLAY expect there to be a lot of purchasable items via their cash shop as that's how they're making their profit. So whatever they put in there is honestly up to them and is a bit difficult to get them to budge on that.

now if the game is BUY TO PLAY or PAY TO PLAY then the players should have much more swing on the decisions and processes behind that.

But again, it's all falls to where the player decides to set the bar for pay to win.

As it stands right now Soulworker does not come across to ME as pay to win. At least not right now. The top layers in the game right now (at least the majority I've talked to or have seen posting on here) Haven't dropped a dime on the game.

  • People just upset the cosmetics cost more in US version than Asian version

They don't realize that outside of NA people play in netcafes and have to pay for the computers, so a lot of mmo publishers get money partnering with netcafes. They lower cash shop prices and have lots of perks for playing the game. Since the target customer also have to pay the netcafe, it explains why the cash shop prices are cheap otherwise nobody could afford it.

Also in Asia p2w is seen as more of a "oh well, it's life" and people are OK with p2w. In NA you have diehard players who will proudly tell you they never spent a cent even though the game needs money to operate

How dare you use logic on people?
