Waited 4 years just to get an IP Block.

  • You have no idea how pissed off I am right now. This was my most hyped mmo ever since I have heard about it. In fact, I was ready to spend some money to support the development of the game. Honestly, now this gives me more reason to hate Gameforge. Not only did they decide to region block the game, but they gave no prior announcements regarding this. Now I am stuck with no way to play the game since I am in neither Korea, Japan, America nor Europe. Thanks.

You can now lock this thread like you always do.

  • The beta starts without any region-lock and they announced to apply this filter for legal issues, it means "someone push for this". The GF need to respect the laws @@

Vorrei che fosse oggi, in un attimo già domani, per reiniziare,

per stravolgere tutti i miei piani, perchè sarà migliore e io sarò migliore ,
come un bel film che lascia tutti senza parole .

  • They could ignore the rules and laws laid onto them and put all of us out of a game to play, or follow the regulations and put only a fraction out of a game to play.

    7/10 players versus 0/10 players.

Yeah it obviously sucks to be part of the 3/10 that can't play anymore but you can't expect them to break contract and risk even greater problems for everyone.

If you're in AUS, play JP. You'll have a much better connection to it anyway than NA or EU. If you're in SEA, well, LionGames does have a licence ready for the region, who knows when a publisher will pick it up though. Just pray it isn't CherryCredits :saint:

  • I'm in Aus and playing fine... IP block doesn't matter these days

  • Well, u can use vpn if u want

As Nezumi said, vpn is your best option, however, there are some vpns that won't work now a days. Developers have started to block vpns so you will need to find one that actually works.

  • Its been stated in the official announcement, but Gameforge does not legally own the rights to publish SoulWorker anywhere apart from EU and NA.

From the way things happened, this IP block is most likely something Lion Games pushed for. Gameforge has no choice but to enforce it, or else face legal action and possibly lose their rights to publish the game period.

While I do feel sympathy for your situation, its not something that can't be worked around, if you catch my drift.

It's against the ToS to use VPNs, which means you're gonna get the hammer eventually.

  • brother, the best solution looking another games to play without region block.

no need using VPN coz that will harm u and im sure the connection not really good.

many out there games like SW or more better without region block. try look @ some site with MMORPG online games list.

Let's be honest here, how many games have you ever seen that banned people for using VPNs? 0.

No publisher is going to ban possibly paying customers from their games, most publishing companies certainly don't want IP blocks at all as more costumers = more money. I've seen a lot of people say this kind of thing here, but after the initial ip block unless you are hacking or using external programs you are not going to get banned, this kind of action against VPN never happens although people love to preach the ToS card.

Furthermore in a game where you don't need VPN at all besides to login in the launcher or open the cash shop, there might as well not be a ip block considering how effortless it is to bypass it. (And it was the same in JP when they had ipblock so chances of this changing here are pretty low)

  • Hm? But I thought people have already been banned? That's what I've been told, not like I can find a reddit where people whine about bans for this game. Also, IP blocks are super easy to bypass! Do you understand what VPNs are so amazingly good at? Bypassing terms that you've agreed to by signing up for an account on SoulWorker! Wow, never saw that one coming.

I'm excited for the recent JRPGs and KRPGs out right now. They look really fun, but sadly not localized or translated.

No direct bans happened as far as I know, LATAM and SEA are still playing from steam without using a single VPN, btw.

In any case, I don't see the point in arguing about the importance or how serious publishers even apply their ToS or not, but if anyone really believes that they are going to be banned just because of VPN they are just being too naive. Just do it quietly and enjoy the game, there is no extra lag because of it and there are still active communities from ipblocked places anyway.

They have full rights to ban you if they find proof you have used a VPN, also that's quite alarming that SEA and LATAM players can play without a VPN. I hope they can teach me their underhanded tricks.

The only bans I've heard about are the temporary 3 day bans for that minor exp glitch/exploit
