Yet another game without delta patching.
But considering it's from 2011, I guess we shouldn't be that surprised, even if it still has no place in this day and age.
-
-
We're still going to have a lot to download on official release, probably best to get used to it. That is, if everything that's supposed to be included is included day 1.
-
If you really wanted to(and seriously this is sort of a pain in the ass), you could get friends to setup a torrent of the current version and get it from them. Then just dump the files in. It could be more efficient if you knew what files changed.
If you actually went through all of that, then the hashsums should check out and you can just play.
Or if someone just made their own patcher with delta patching.

There there Alzii *pats head*

Downloading it atm, 2 minutes before completion. 1.27 gb downloaded.

-
It is quite annoying to download 2GB of patch especially for people with slow connections, hopefully this will be fixed by the end of the beta.
-
Why are updates on steam every time 2.7 GB like it need to download the game again?
-
Just saw my steam tab downloading something and it was a gigantic 2.7 gb update for SW out of nowhere. I checked around and haven't seen any news about it.
Anyone else got that?
-
That happens everytime an update for SWO happens on both steam and the official client. Seems like the game unpacks everything after every single update.
-
steam is always large do to it having to reinstall or something like that
-
Bah, line op mentioned, we need redownload every .v file.
-
You can't just switch to the standalone client, can you?
I recommend reporting it as a bug and hope it gets fixed.
-
They said they are working on it (at least the spanish CoMa said so)
And this is the reason i never play mmos on steam, specially F2P ones, had the same issue with PoE that every little update had to download the whole folder.
And also no, u can't link or transfer steam to stand alone and vice-versa
-
so i have noticesd thats steam will download 2.7gb
but the stand alone only some few mb but paches then ~ 3gb.
on steam it coult that they cant realy pach the few mb in, so it will DL the wohle pached client
the stand alone make this on your PC.
-
there is a really easy(and lazy) fix if they want
add little Patcher to steam client >> steam open the little Patcher instead the Client.exe
all fixed

like tree of savior
-
hmmm so basically if you switch from steam to the stand alone you will lose your account ? or what i don't understand what everyone is talking about , and 2.7GB is annoying if it's unnecessary .
