Question for the people who play all day on NA server

  • I work full time and only play in the evenings for a few hours and specifically on the NA server.

My question is, is the server terrible all day or just in the evenings? I have a hard time progressing my characters because something is always messed up for lack of better words. The other day the server wasn't even showing all night and I gave up after 10 restarts or so. Last night I got to play a bit then this message spam came on and couldn't enter any dungeons. When I actually get to play the game, I get kicked randomly from dungeons or the server crashes multiple times an hour.

I admire those people who have patience for this but mine is wearing thin. I really enjoy this game but it feels like a lost cause playing in the evenings.

Is it always like this? Are the other servers this bad?

    Thanks for responses 8)

  • I play on the Tenebris server and yes while i did experience some of the problems you got like having to restart the client 89024375967 times, or randomly getting drop from the dungeon, i haven't really experience that in the last 2 days. During those two days, the servers were okay for me. Granted it still hiccup every now and then (randomly getting booted off and using in game features only to get kicked off [i am looking at you dismantle button!!!!!])

The game is fun and i would encourage you to wait for the game to come out of open beta. Hopefully by then the bugs will be iron out and these problems would be a non-issue. However, if you want to experience the game now and see all the problems in the world, by all means, go for it.

  • I took a personal day from work yesterday (snow day), and had no problem logging in during the late morning/ early afternoon. However, around 11 pm (EST) NA servers were not available.

  • Hmm, maybe bc ur network. I even live outside NA, still get good ping experience even with VPN

It's just this game. I have excellent ping when I can play and never lag. Connected via cable, not wireless.

Going to continue to play but I'm looking more for info on if it's better during the day or pretty much the same? It could be the timeframe I play is when most people get off work (6pm to 9pm est) which increases the server traffic? I don't really get these problems during the weekends as much. Game is hella fun but I spend a lot of time restarting like you said lol.

  • The servers have been going down quite a lot especially on the evenings. I was online when the message spam you are talking about was happening.

    SilverLinings - Beluga - NA

  • Considering your free time, i didn't really notice any lag during that time.

  • Play on the EN server, you'll have a better overall experience. The latency shouldn't be that bad, it will be higher, but the game will be more stable and certainly playable. The NA server, when its up and running is fine latency wise now, only issue I get is random disconnects when the client tries to access some database (most like located in Germany).

  • I play at all different hours on the NA server, and regardless of time of day I get random disconnects and crashes. I have seen the servers not available twice which a restart fixed (both times late night). It's definitely frustrating but at least they seem to be doing maintenance every few days and not weekly/bi-weekly.

  • Xandorai I will give the EN server a try, the ping might be 150ish for me there but if the server is more stable I will keep my sanity :)

WillnSpace this is the response I was looking for thanks. And yes I agree the server NA has become more and more stable since release imo. Hopefully won't be long till its running smooth. #betaissues

  • Yea as person who started up two characters in NA this puts a wrench in things but hearing that EN or others might have more stability makes me want to try out the others just in case you know haha.

  • I was considering moving to EN as well, but losing all my progress as well as all the money I've spent in NA is a big deterrent from moving. I was ok with all the NA issues during beta, but now that we're in full release, I expected better. I'll give it a few more weeks to see if things improve. After that, I might jump ship considering we'll be blessed with a new mmo next month.
