Gameforge vs JP server [UPDATED 2018.3.11]

  • Honestly, I find the game great as it is at this point.

Only thing I would like is maybe little more energy per day, say 300?

    1) Prices in shops are average compared to other games on this market as far as outfits go.

    2) The three free resurrections is a bad thing in my opinion. Learn to play your class and don't die, its as easy as that. Normal mode is easy so you wont die, manic is hard as it should be, maybe would be nicer for it to be even harder, and as I stated before, I would like for us not to have resurrections for it.

3)Materials thing is not a problem either, just means you will need to work a bit harder for your outfits

4)Leveling is not an issue, rather it gives you possibility to learn how to play your character better compared to brain dead rushing and face tanking through normal dungeons till max level

5)Personally don't care about login rewards, they are not that big of a deal anyway.

All in all, JP version to me at least seems easier than KR and EU/NA version.

    Is that heresy I see?

  • Don't say that :))) There will be an always overwhelming number of complaints than suggestions on this foru

I am the handle of my gun

Speed is my body and bullet is my blood

I have created over a thousand guns

Unknown to Myriam, nor known to Lex

I have withstood pain to create many relationships

Yet,those hands will never hold anything

    So as I pray

    Unlimited gun works!

  • 1.Where have u seen 20$ for a hairstyle?

2.It doesn't matter, anyone can forget for a moment about the monsters or the boss mechanics, and even get insta'd if they didn't get mediqubes/proper equipment. And the death is worse if u forgot to take mediqube in the last bar of boss hp,take dmg,die and can't take the loot

3.A bit harder?Materials are hard to grind,lol...hundreds of mats for one piece of outfit?Neah, doesn't worth

4.We are talking about farming a single instance on manic to get as far as u can on lvl for that instance, but sometimes it seems that it doesn't worth the effort

5.What? XD There are respawners and the mats, lol.

Maybe you are right, this region is trying us to learn the game through the hard way,but Japan has a lot of benefics, and even balanced systems. But,this is beta, let's hope they will make an between way for both the medium-hard difficulty of EN/NA region and some benefics of JP server when the live will release

  • I played the JP version it's fun as balls! Way funner in the beginning than here. Feels like a f*cking grindfest early on. Felt like I was lvl 45 on JP when I'm lvl 11 on this server.

Doesn't matter what I say though. I'm just a random scrub. In any event, I don't think it will matter that much as people do like the grind (I only like it later on, not early on, but that's just me). And the beautiful fluidity and combat/animations will make people want to continue to play so it's really not going to be that big of a detriment I feel.

That is all that matters. But there are still things that needed to be fixed there and there

  • Forgot to mention that there are no XP\Money books and so on in the premium shop on JP server.

But maybe with this maintenance that is going just now, they will be removed here too.

    Added: Heh, nothing changed.

  • The whole point of a beta is to test features of a game and give feedback, you don't wait till release after everything is finalized to give the feedback that kinda defeats the purpose of a beta. Also saying the whole JP server is a suggestion is perfectly fine feedback, it just means the JP server has done some things better than the KR server and that gameforge should look to the JP server to make improvements on our version of the game.

If i was asked which version of the game i recommend to play, i would absolutely say JP if you can get a good connection there. The JP server is way more player friendly then our version and the KR version of the game.

  • Even if this version is based on the Korean one, that's no excuse. The Korean version failed, the Japanese version didn't. We have the right to request all these benefits. We're beta testers. We have to give feedback to make sure the proper release is as good as it can be. We can't just suck up everything they do.

    Couldn't said it better.

  • You know, I could have sworn I replied to a post like this last night.

Leaving aside the hairstyle price issue which is correct,

    2. Free respawners are fine and all, but lets face it, they are basically a crutch, accident fixers. Anyone who plays far enough into Steel Graves automatically understands that prevention is better than the cure.

    3. The worth depends on the person. I personally am working on crafting the pieces I want. 2 left to go.

    4. If you think this is grind, you have seen nothing. Pre Big Bang Maplestory? Original Ragnarok Online? THAT'S GRIND.

    5. I feel the standard brooch transmitters are the best part. I have enough EP and I already addressed respawners, so...

Comparing different versions is already a moot point. The devs are Korean. The build they gave us is Korean. Korean build requires the exact same amount of mats.

I don't mind if they change things to make it more in line with JP, but I'm also fine with the way things are at the moment. I think the only concern I have is hairstyle prices and what their plan for free EP pot distribution looks like into release and beyond.

  • Do they got Brooch Puncher with real money or in game currency on the jp server? Just want to know, since I think brooches can boost your stats quite well. And having them only for money... well, doesn't that make them pay to win? Since you need 3 sockets on fashion to benefit of the bonus you get from ordering them.

You have to buy them with real money on all servers.

  • My 2 bit: Nice side by side, OP.

The people saying that it's just a complaint and not a suggestion: The suggestion is that the NA(GF) servers need to be MORE inline with the jp version vs the kr version. I think that has been the thoughts of everyone that has made the comparison.

I'm guilty of a bit of over-hyped based anger on here myself, but I really feel that those of us that are into double digit posts or higher just REALLY want to see Soul Workers make it.

Yeah, we are heated, but it's from love of the game.

I've personally decided that I will (TRY) not to make another ranty post of any kind till after I hit end-game and/or we move into 'release' or just farther into the beta.

    Have fun!

    Remember fun?

    Have it!

Yes, it costs 100 JPY there (around $0.93).

Just found that login bonus counts separately for every character.

  • Our version is based on the Korean one.

That literally doesn't change anything. The japanese version is based on the korean one aswell. This argument is invalid at it's finest. Just btw... the korean server is almost identical in all the things the thread owner mentioned.

How about we give a chance to this game? Let's wait for the OPEN BETA to be finished.. and see what happens.

Do you really think gameforge will lower their cash shop prices, increase the F2P friendliness at this point? A lot of whales are purchasing items and their income is great. Nothing will change unless all the f2p players are quitting and their numbers are significiantly decreasing. Your beliefs are delusional at its best.

I will be surprised & very happy if something will change in a better way.

The problem is that people just complain without actually giving suggestions, always comparing to other versions.
And thats why i wanna wait for the beta to be over, to see if something actually changes.

Isn't a whole JP server is a suggestion?

I was talking about the countless complaints thread. You have some good point, but if we get changes they are probably based on KR server

Yeah sure, they'll change the things they didn't even get from the korean server. To go into more detail: The korean server has the same login rewards, same crafting costs and similar cash shop prices as the japanese version. They were never different thus your arguments are invalid. They made the changes themselves to increase their income upon cash shop introduction.

That was actually kind of annoying to read as you seem to have no clue about the korean server whatsoever and state incorrect arguments.

I can definitely agree with wanting to make our Soulworker the best game it can be.

But just out of curiosity, what do you mean in regards to the Korean version of Soulworker? I have not been following Soulworker these past years so i am not aware of whats happened to the other localization's.

The korean Soul Worker is still alive just like the japanese one. Both are suffering in population though, you could say SoulWorker is barely alive (and on the edge of dieng if its not for the west)

The Japanese version (which actually was released first, unlike what some people think) was successful in Japan. Not cultural phenomenon levels of successful, but it had strong playerbase and the game kept getting updates constantly and overall people cared about it. The Korean version though... not many people liked it. There was no interest in it, I don't really know if it was because of how stupid it was compared to JP or not. But the end result was, Korean version was pretty much a failure.

  • Actually no, Kr ones and ours have the same cost and material requirment for crafting, a guy just posted pics few days ago.

I guess what i am asking is; was it permanently shut down? I have personally experienced MMOrpg's and various other online gaming shut-downs, and they are not fun to go through.

So due to the choice of words; i am having this knee-jerk reaction of fear looming; the word: "Failure" is kind of a heavy one, and I've watched even the most critically-successful online projects get shut down over really stupid or unforeseen events.

So was the Korean version shutdown or not?
