Make sure the capitalization is 100% correct.

even if i click their name and whisper to them it doesn't work for some reason, i have to add them to friends before itll let me o.o

Theres chinese words after their name and apparently u cant just type their name to whisper them.. i have to be close to them then right click > whisper or befriend them.. other than that i cant pm.. its pretty stupid really..

weird thing is i can delete the chinese letters, or korean, the non-english stuff lol, put the bracket back and itll still say not on the same server. so i don't know if its my client, steam or some strange thing
Theyre Korean, but aside from that did you perhaps put it in a whisper setting like only whispering friends?

Just leave the korean there and type your message. That's what worked for me. I assumed its some kind of "whisper to" kind of thing or other they didnt get to.
Or maybe its supposed to be a hidden server designation.

dont ( /w name message ) work for you? never had a problem with it myself

I tried whispering someone after deleting the korean, it just takes away the first three letters that i type instead. The only time I got the message (just tested it 2x) is when someone is not online, so its probably just bad translation unless you tested it with someone onlin? If so then /shrug.

have the name Yuki so you have write /w Yuki
the 3 sings after the name on whisper means wisper to or from

You dont have to do /whisper you just type in the name then your message

The /whisper name message thing doesn't work for me. Is it supposed to work? I always thought you had to either Shift + R to reply or manually whisper someone through your friendslist.

if you are in Whisper mode then dosent work /w ther you, not sure, you can write the name direct.
in all other chats user /w name text
