Hey team,
Virgin player here - really enjoying the game thus far. My question is: should I be concerned with crafting/enhancing gear at lower levels (currently lvl 18). It seems that by just progressing, better gear is inherently acquired and I should't bother with crafting aspect yet.

At best make unique weapon +4/5 and change it every 10 levels or so
Not particularly. Leveling speeds up once you hit Candus City and you'll change gear quickly, but it dies painfully about halfway through Grace City.
The only good thing to craft in lower levels is the lvl 16 weapon with the 10% xp boost. Upgrade it to +4 or higher if you feel lucky about it .

Really? It was dead for me in Candus and speedier for me in Grace.
I only upgraded the weapon so far, but I play Stella so I can heal if needed. I wouldn't waste my time crafting anything, besides the Steel Grave set starting at level 35. From what I have seen you can craft that one 35 -> 45 -> 55 -> 55 (better).
There is gear, well blueprints, at the last stage of every City that gives a % damage boost to all the mobs of the next City. That's the only thing you should be crafting until level 55.
So from Rocco town it would be the Concentrated Lab Essence Set
From Candus you'd be leaving with the Bestial Roar Set
And from Grace City it would be the SoulMate set
There is also a set for the last city as well called the Vicarious Calling Set
There is a weapon for each set as well but I didn't feel like looking up the names.
