For a game recently released I must admit..

  • Just FYI, once you're about 55 grinding dungeons for drops and blueprints, steel graves for drops and blueprints, you don't always get the blueprint for your character, so you end up making more than a million a day just on selling items not for your character alone, not to mention DZ drop from dungeons by themselves I make around 1~1.5mil a day. Although that is with using mats and vitamins, maybe it's somewhere around 500k~1mil for someone who doesn't.

Anyways my point is, grinding DZ isn't supposed to be easy either. It might take you what, a week or two of farming DZ at 55 (or less if you're lucky with drops), to get the 20mil+ cash shop item you want, but it's possible.

I got around 20m in just 3 days so far, as an example. Let's just say I was very lucky with steel graves drops. It's definitely possible to make money, 20m+ in a week or even less.

Yep pretty much. If someone wants to make money fast you just use all your entries on the level 5 stage of Steel Graves (or 10 if you're sure you can farm it consistently without dying), to get blueprints to sell. Even more so if you have alts.

That's a really useful info, why don't you make a guide for all new players? Even if it doesn't solve the cash shop problem, which are definitely too high prices, it could reduce the frustration new players feel.

  • I've played both Vindictus and Kritika and while I can agree that Vindictus has the best action combat system of any game to date, I still find Soul Worker more fun, mostly due to the fact that while Vindictus has amazing combat, the game is optimized like a toaster even on high end pcs. It's gotten a lot better recently, but it's still a laggy mess sometimes.

As for Kritika, I played pre-NA release and loved it. Played post-NA release and felt I was wasting my time.

  • you're paying to keep the game alive too

"Are you saying it isn't possible to support the game without it feeling like a blatant cash-grab?"

Why twist my words and then get offended? You can support the game by dropping money on it or just playing to keep the community alive.

Let's not kid ourselves, haircuts go for 1.5m to 7.5m. If you pay 15 - 20m, you're responsible for scamming yourself. The price of haircuts is justified, you just need the patience to look for cheaper and new listings. I check the market after every dungeon run.

  • Yes I did, just because the game is "Free" doesn't mean I can't complain about the disgusting store prices. Justifying the current prices is sad & you will lead this game to failure

You can complain all you want. We just find it ridiculous how you think your point is valid.

When you say current prices, I can only think of haircuts, since outfits are normally 30 dollars and hair dyes is like 3 dollars.

Listen to yourself, if you're claiming that $20 haircuts will seriously destroy this game, I dare you to show us some evidence.

And yes, lower prices = more buyers, but will the extra buyers cover the losses from lowering the prices? I only see speculation and your own opinions.

  • I can't believe you're supporting these prices lmao.

  • Isn't it also just your own speculation and opinion that lowering the prices would have a negative effect. How do you know the current prices can cover the loss of the customers that refuse to buy anything due to the high prices?

  • I do agree with your statement. Outfits in general are cosmetics and what they are a addition to the gameplay. Enhancing the gameplay for people to enjoy it better. Their something extra not the core values of the games. The game itself is a PVE/PVP game fighting NPC/People i highly doubt the game was mainly intended for dress up only. Like every game has some type of cosmetic their just look something to look upon to our wild dreams.

People in the end of the day will do whatever they can to get what they want. That being said they probably make more money from their desires. I've seen it in real life on drugs I can see it with lust :P. In the end I highly doubt the game would lose profit because of high prices. It's more like spreading the income rate more even throughout the months. They'll probably spend it better than receiving it in big chunk of money.

People could just be frustrated because the prices are just so different from other games they play that they are hesistant. As of right now people are just hesitant of buying the cosmetics since the biggest chance of changing the prices is during beta.

Nah, if the prices don't change then I'm not buying jack crap. Other games at least don't cost $30 for a f'in haircut & $30 for the outfit that is mediocre at best?! The reason most people are pissed is because this company is so damn Money Hungry.

"Oh but they need money to help keep game alive" Won't be a damn game if the company is this crappy & doesn't give a hell about their community..

Hell, Cash Shop isn't even the only issue right now! Don't get me started on the crafting compared to Japan.

This is coming from a guy who enjoys the game but can SEE that the company in general doesn't care about the community.

It's sad that I have a well paying job and I still refuse to spend a penny on this game until the Company changes, I can only imagine the people who don't make much money.. I feel even worse for them dealing with this.

Stop agreeing with this Company's ways & make a change, you're only killing the game.

The prices for cosmetics like hair i do kind feel like they do need to lower the price of it. As haircuts in general do not compared to other prices in the game. At the very least they can make it a rarity thing loot boxes for example for well designed haircuts. Not all of the haircuts are $30 probably the very good ones are. Tera got their version of having unique outfits and other cosmetics in loot box version.

I also want to mentioned the outfits aren't character bound are they? even haircuts? Most games have that to make people buy more. (Character bound meaning just bound to that specific ID character)

There's even loot boxes as well like i said for unique outfits and other cosmetics.

Too early to say that. Its Beta... That's a lot of strong words o.o I doubt that can be a reasonable argument when its just beta. More like rage and upset.

That's fine if your working in a good job but your situation. People will spend their money their own way regardless of the process and ways they do it people got different motives and priority.

Stop agreeing with this Company's ways & make a change, you're only killing the game.

Killing the game? only thing i see as the biggest threat to the game is P2W things not cosmetics. If you give me some statistics that this game will die because they raised their price for their quality of the item please show me. i'd rather pay higher prices for quality items because they deserved it. Even comparing it too loot boxes i rather pay $30 bucks for a unique outfit. People need to look at some of the games version of loot boxes if you take the average amount of cost of loot box to get a specific unique item it'll be probably way over $30. I've seen people rage because of RNG. And if you think about it, it actually isn't bad as loot boxes... Something guaranteed.

-Hey if you want to pay less for a outfit sure there are options even for hair you can get outfits for low as $15 but don't everyone want a better quality? Sure we do but that cost more work! (copyrights, designs, brain power)

Also i want to point out i've never even agreed with the "company's ways". I just agreed with someone's statement to you. :P

  • I wrote it as a question not a statement. I'm asking soulowplayer why he's so sure that lowering the prices will have a positive effect. He said it in the original post. If you read it carefully, I never claimed that lowering prices would have a negative effect. I;m trying to say it's possible and no one has proof for one side or the other as of right now.

  • No, the only thing that's sad is how many times you bring up your well paying job. A person not making much money wouldn't spend their money on a game. How are they taking this badly?

The game is only two weeks into its beta and you claim that they are already a company not focused on the community. Am I the only one that finds this absurd? Remember the first two days of the beta, remember how shitty the servers were? I think they did a damn good job listening to the community and fixing those servers for us.

No ones forcing you to pay, if you don't support the company then feel free to do so. If the company was actually money hungry, they would give serious advantages to spending money on the cash shop so as to "force" you into buying stuff. But they don't and you're complaining about cosmetics. I'm sorry I'm so ignorant that I don't realize $20 haircuts are killing this game.

You can find the prices to be ridiculous. I disagree on that but that's fine. I don't see why we can't have different opinions.

  • But where you be lookin for those 1.5-7.5m prices? Last time I checked (yesterday) for stella, it was in the range of 3m for the ones you choose when you make a character and 10m for those $20 hairstyles.

They do seem to be going down tho so I'm gonna save up for that good stuff.

And yes, you can pay to keep the game alive. Doesn't mean it's fine to put whatever price tag they want on hairs and justify is as a means of "keeping the game alive."

  • I'm sure that lowering the prices of cosmetics will have a positive effect as well only because of how economics works and having played other games with buyable cosmetics. Black Desert Online has costumes with stats that cost $30+ and I know many people who pay for them and many more people who find $30 (the original price of the game) outrageous and won't pay for them. Then on the other hand you have a game like League of Legends where the skins for champions were $5-10 for a normal reskin and $25-35 for a Legendary skin where it actually changed skill animations and I personally had 0 problems spending nearly $500 on skins during the 2 years I played and I know many MANY people who are like me and periodically bought Riot Points for the cheap skins or to instabuy a champion.

If they really want to make more money, then lower the prices of the basic cosmetics, Legendary tier costumes can be $25 that makes sense, they typically have special effects or animations that make them unique, but a simple hairstyle shouldn't be more than $10 for an extra fancy one. I would spend $20 minimum (1 per character slot) on 4 hairstyles, and would probably spend even more for hair colors for those hair styles, but I personally can't justify spending the same amount of money on a single cosmetic item that barely changes my appearance. I know for a fact (you can see all the posts) that I'm not the only person who feels that way. So they can either A) Ignore us and keep the prices the same, selling $25 hair cuts to the population of the game who doesn't care, or B) Listen to us and lower the prices of the basic cosmetics and sell them to a far larger majority of the population in far greater quantities.

TL;DR: People are more likely to spend money on more items than they are to spend an equal amount of money on one item.

  • Yeah, i'm trying to wait for the prices to go down to something reasonable. But i wonder if it will. to my understanding there is an alarming number of people buying stuff from the cash shop. From a Busniess point of view, if people are buying at your price, why lower it? It could even turn those , like myself, waiting on a price drop to eventually give in. That is why patrol the board, eagerly awaiting the time the cash shop complaint threads stop being made everyday and not play the game. If i play this game at this point, i know im going to like it a lot and i will inevitably feel like I need to spend money. Course you can avoid this all, if you are a F2P leeching off those who put money into the game. But what happens when those guys supplying the game gets bored and leaves? You're stuck with a bunch of in-game funds , with nothing to spend it on.

I think the Soul Cash prices are liable to stay the way they are just because it looks good in the short-sighted future of things. I mean, you are getting people to pay $20 for some hair, when everywhere else in the world pays $5 or so for the same thing. That's some high level merchandising right there. That all said i do think more people buying at a lower price would make for much better revenue, but it doesnt help if people -are- buying stuff currently. and i know i wouldnt help the problem, which is why i dont play yet. People buying into the market are only delaying when/if the soul cash price adjustment will happen. and i feel that asking players not to buy goods from these players in order to protest the prices is too much as well, because ultimately F2P players dont really care about that. I mean, either way they are paying no funds of their rl money. But we'll see and i'll keep patrolling. for at least another month at max. after that, i think i will either play the game or move on.

  • If you guys dont wanna pay real money then just buy Premium items from players like me. I try to sell at a decent price. <3
