Catherine!!!

  • Stella is the one who caused the Great Void. If you finish certain story progression in Grace you have a special interact with Lex as Stella.

Wuuuut. How did she cause it? Why did she cause it? To what end? It this only possible to know when doing her story?

I had already read that ages ago, and it doens't clarify anything, nor is it clearly stated if she's actually the culprit :/.

She is the one responsible, she's the only one capable of doing it then. She's grown up with her Howlers and after much abuse and sadness she opened the great void wishing to find a new world.

  • The Game states she was blamed for it, not that she caused it. Unless there is an ingame conservation proofing it, in which case I am interested in a screenshot, that is pure speculation. I highly doubt she did, it's either a natural phenomena or it being caused by the experiments of the NED company, seeing how they are involved in almost everything, makes more sense to me.

  • ^This. In Grace City they clearly mentioned they found a girl, white hair, and all the package. They were clearly talking about Stella. I was like ''wow, so, it means that story-wise, all 6 people actually coexist together and fight? I can't wait to meet Stella''. Level 50 now, she was never mentioned again... I legit thought I'd meet every other character. My Lily needs someone else to vent her anger on.

Yes, and if you played Stella they will mention Haru instead.

True, and <spoiler> old man told Lex how this drove Stella to voluntarily enter the void knowing the danger of it instead of hating people cause she thought that her being gone will make people happy.

Edit: Yes, I believe NED has something to do with it too. Due to the fact on how they are connected to every incident happening in the story.

Sadly, that isn't it exactly. <Spoiler> Stella was special. Much like people existing today. We have psychics and spiritualist that can see spirits and speak to the dead and some other unknown. And just like some or most of us, we see this as nonsense and treat them as freaks. People blamed Stella for causing the void because she's unique and was unable to accept her. She was the oddball, the weird girl who's the only one that can see and talk to her "friends" back then. After the void, these things became more normal and thus, if you played Stella, "they" never want anyone to talk about her past because this led her to suffer alone and "sacrifice" herself for the good of people.

Edit: I almost forgot the reason why I came to this thread. lol

I'm so sad after doing that story quest ;(;(;(

It breaks my heart too. I remember the time when your character will frantically search for that fat traitor with no rest and in a rush just to get revenge ;(

  • For those who play Erwin and have progressed past Candus:

I heard the story was a lot more... invested on Erwin's part compared to maybe some of the other characters, anyone care to share? :O

TLDR: Catherine fell in love with Erwin and talked about how she would become his wife. Made this ring for him and made a promise that in 5 years they would get married.

"Fou yea ra waath ar ciel, en hymme mea, weel nepo en keen ar sar"

"Rasse, rasse, rasse, rasse, rasee, rasse, en rana!"

  • Yeah... my heart broke at that point. I've been working on a fanfiction (not sure if I'll post it or not, I'm mostly using it to write more on days that I don't feel like writing my original stories so I'm letting it be horrible) and I was planning on playing through every character to know how they all react to that but I'm not sure I'll be able to emotionally handle it lol. (Even Lily cries when she has to fight Catherine, and she seemed to go between caring about Catherine and seeing her as a bit of a nuisance)

And regarding the origin of the Void: I wouldn't be surprised if it was NED. We know that NED was around before the Void (in fact, when they're mentioned to Lily the first time, she immediately has a negative reaction to them, saying that all they cared about was money even back before the Void).

I definitely hope that at some point in the future, we get to see the other player characters in the storyline though. I was really curious when Maverick brought Stella up. I'd love to see some canon interactions between the characters in-game. I liked what was in the webseries thing they did (.......mostly) but seeing that in-game would be really entertaining imo.

  • In every game there is an NPC or a really dumb character and Catherine is that character. They made her dense as hell, like... how many times does it take to stop being somewhere you're not suppose to be? Especially with that frail arse body Lol.

She gets kidnapped, then she gets poisoned and if that wasn't enough she goes out lalala-ing again to get stabbed? How the heck do you feel sorry for something that deserved to be dead after not learning their lesson lol.

This wasn't something worth grieving about and if you are then well... You gotta get out more hehe.

  • Eh... no. She is a SoulForcer, a rather weak one, but she is a SoulForcer. In the beginning she just wanted "to do something", which basically earned her "house arrest" from her father. As a reaction to that she goes into that "spider house" where she gets infected by some sort experimental thing (?) of the NED company that would turn her into something like the human like monsters in the later Candus City dungeons. At this point she already realized her mistake.

Henryk uses this opportunity to see what happened at one of the NED companies laboratories. They find out that one of their experiments, the thing that absorbs Catherine, has broken free. Henryk then orders the player to destroy the laboratory, probably to hide what they did there. In addition the "antidote" makes Catherine into bait for that thing, that escaped the laboratory. Its actually a parasite that adsorbs humans soul force multiplying it's strength in the process.

She also didn't h´just go "lalala-ing". The whole city was evacuated to Grace City but pursued by the mobs due to Henryk turning Catherine into bait. The reason she was so happy is because she somehow got cured and was happy to finally have a friend.

Basically Henryk sacrificed Catherine for an experiment to get himself a promotion. That all happens after she regrets what she was doing. Her last words are actually "Papa, I am sorry".

  • I love it, Amaryllis is such a beautiful monster. That quest made me regret not playing Erwin, I feel like he would have had the most special dynamic with her. I'm a sucker for the big brother-little sister trope (especially when one of them dies...)

    Interesting! In Haru's story,

  • Interesting! In Haru's story,

Ooooh... knowing this makes me feel there is some sort of plan regarding this. Lily's story references Stella. I'm very curious about who is referenced in other stories now, and where this is going. (Also wondering if Iris and Jin are referenced at all, or if they might reference each other when they're added... though I feel it's likely there would already be at least one thread about it on the forums if they were referenced in-game before being added lol)

completly agree with you, the typical spoiled brat, after the first minute i knew her, she was already getting on my nerves

  • I'm banishing you both.
