Another company has the rights for the game in SEA/OCE/SA and gameforge can't allow people from these areas play the game.

I contacted gameforge support and they said they forwarded our request for people that were able to play from the beginning. They will definitely give us more information later when they they are able to.

I don't unterstand, can u explain ?
-
That makes no sense since literally everybody could have played from the beginning.
-
Some players who registered and downloaded the game before the IP block happened are still able to play. The question is whether another form of block/whatever will happen in the future to player's from non-license countries so whether there's some sense for them in continuing to play.
And the answer TigerBunny got was probably: we don't know, we can ask but we cannot promise you anything. I don't really think that you will get an answer about it though...
So, play at your own risk and keep in mind that VPNs are against the ToS, i.e. using a VPN doesn't mean that you will always be able to play on GFs servers.

As a publisher, I'm pretty sure they are not legally allowed to say "Oh you're in the jurisdiction of another publisher? That's okay come in and play!" as it would violate the terms of their contract.
tbh, if people can play on JP using VPN and other work-arounds for things such as topping-up of premium shop currency, I'm sure there will be methods for those in our version as well for those who live in regions that are IP blocked. It's just a matter of finding them and your own motivation.

You do not need a VPN to play JP version.

Ah, I'm referring to before they changed their game-handler, when they did IP block people outside of JP. It did not stop Westerners' access into the game via VPN.
Apologies, should've specified that. -
