I figured most people would have figured this out by now, but talking to a friend today he was complaining about the fireblasts and what not in Chapters 13 through 15 of Steel Graves.
You can skip straight from the second platform to the platform with the machine on it by dash jumping > air dashing, or by using strategic air attacks.
