Music for the Soul - A Stella Class Guide

  • Question, what key do you use for the Orb song? Can't manage to figure it out. :-:

I have Orb Song on my 5 key, right after Spirit Pulse.

I personally don't find Orb Song a super high priority skill that it must be on tier 1, and considering Spirit Pulse's low cost it's easy enough to instantly cancel out of it if need be to cast Orb Song. As a bonus, having it on the 8% cooldown tier means it's only 2 or so seconds longer cooldown than Spirit Pulse in the first place.

  • Hello Natt,

Wasn't really sure where to look for Stella, but for brooches, are there any in particular a Stella should look for?

Or should I just look at the guide Ice posted: Brooch guide

The brooch guide is great. I'll put down my thoughts of what's good, but they overlap heavily.

In most cases, people will use brooches for offensive purposes.

SD Brooches: Easy to get, balanced set effects.

    Attack:

    1) Smelter (+Armor Break)

The ideal choice, as it provides the most offense for the slot.

    2) Bringer of Death (+Crit Damage)

A worse brooch but a lot more affordable while providing a small damage boost.

    3) Valour (+Boss Damage)

1 or 2% Boss Damage doesn't sound like a lot, but every little bit helps.

    Defense:

    1) Nautilus (+Boss Damage Reduction)

    Best PvE SD:Defence brooch.

    2) Barrier (+Damage Reduction)

Weaker than Nautilus, but works for trash mobs and normal players in case of PvP.

    3) Perseverance (+Critical Resist)

Mainly for PvE, but can help prevent sudden huge hits in PvE.

    4) Verve (+%HP)

Not that great on Stella due to her low base HP, but still usable.

    Effect:

    1) Swift (+Movespd)

Best PvE SD:Effect Brooch. SD: Effect does not provide many game-changing brooches, so the movement speed is the best there is.

    2) Adamant (Superarmor on Hit)

Primarily a PvP brooch but can possibly help in PvE by preventing cc effects.

    3) Runner (%chance to gain movespd on sprint)

    A poor man's Swift.

    4) Illumination (Cooldown reduction on skill cast)

If you have nothing better, this works. The CDR it provides is good, but a 2% chance of activation is just too low for you to really notice it.

BSK Brooches: Pretty hard to get nowadays, but provide unique offensive effects on both brooches and set effects.

    Attack:

    1) Smelter (+Armour Break)

Same as above, it's the best in slot.

    2) Bringer of Death (+Crit Damage)

    Same as above.

    Defence:

    1) Provoke (+atk upon evasion)

The best BSK defence brooch due to the attack it gives. It can proc during bass wave iframe as well. Evasion can be hard to guarantee but can be assisted with akasha cards and proper gear focus.

    2) Nautilus (+Boss damage reduc)

    Same as above.

    3) Bluff/Fury (+cdmg or attack when hit)

    Acceptable damage boosting brooches.

    4) Rhino (+cdmg upon evasion)

    Worse than provoke but usable.

    Effect:

    1) Ecstasy (Armour Break on kill)

The best overall PvE brooch. Gets less effectiveness in boss-only raids like GC and Primal but still overall the best.

    2) Swift (+Movespd)

    See Above

    3) Adamant (Superarmour on hit)

    See Above

    4) Tantrum (+attack on kill)

    Poor man's Ecstasy

    ----

As far as which sets to use where, I'd suggest:

    Hat: SD

The armour break it provides is more valuable than the raw attack bonus of BSK.

    Top: SD or BSK

SD provides some HP, while BSK provides Crit Rate. Both are good to have, so it's personal preference.

    Bottom: SD.

Provides Evade and Crit Res, which are pretty valuable. BSK gives Super Armour Break which can be helpful but is ultimately not a priority.

    Gloves: BSK

BSK grants 1% more attack speed at Giga+ at the cost of some max stamina. If using Mega or lower brooches, it doesn't matter which (SD or BSK) you use.

    Boots: BSK

Provides a load of crit damage while SD provides a tiny bit of crit rate and a medium amount of crit damage and some (nearly negligible) accuracy.

  • I didn't realize that placing a brooch set in a certain costume piece would provide different effects. I will have to choose wisely o_o;

    Thank you~!

  • Just another question... I noticed there were SF Amplifier or Soulstone things you can place in.. I guess it is just the weapon?

Seeing how there are locks on 3 of 4 of slots, we can have multiple SF Amplifiers or Soulstones. Are there any in particular Stella should try to find?

    General answer to your questions:

Weapon - can equip SF amplifiers and Soulstones

Armor - can only equip Soulstones

Per 1 equipment you can only put in 3 Soulstones (be it weapon or armor).

Now to specific Stella question, my guess is to go for DPS (again) which is: 2x level 9 Soulstone of same element + 2x crit damage SF amplifer

  • Yep, for PvE purposes 2x Solace soulstones and 2x crit damage amplifiers are your best bet for weapon.

For armour, soulstones aren't super necessary unless you have issues surviving a certain level of Golden Citadel, in which case you can build a bit of that element as resistance. However, this is pretty expensive and you'd probably get more effectiveness from just building some more HP instead.

  • Looking at those soulstones, is Solace the element for Stella or so?
I see there are Torment, Sin, Virtue, and Solace?

It doesn't really matter all that much which element you go - all of them will boost your damage by the same amount.

What matters about the elements is that there are monsters that resist them in Elemental raids. The only significant elemental dungeon in NA right now is Golden Citadel.

In this dungeon, there are 5 elemental bosses: Grace, Hate, Sin, Torment, and Virtue.

Since there is no Solace boss, having Solace stones in your weapons means you do extra damage to every single boss, while any other soulstone would deal extremely little damage to one boss (but you'd also get super effective damage against another).

If you have other questions, feel free to contact me on Discord at Natt#7777, it would probably be easier/quicker than posting here. :stella1:

  • Hello. Reading your guide interested in the moment with the ability of Sonic Pulse. There are two gifs indicated, and as I understand - on the first, there is a damage from the support stance. For the second damage from offence stance . Such a question - why does heal come from both stances? Judging by that gif - you give out a lot of damage + almost instantaneous heal

p.s. sorry for bad english ">.<"

    Speech about this:

Judging by color of beam its the healing stance and dmg s low as well so definitely healing stance, not damage stance

  • Then, if not secret - why such a difference in the damage? After all, the same stance is used. I just started to play recently, and until I really understand what's what.

  • The difference come (most probably) from the weapon. The one on the left is a lvl 55 weapon, the one on the right i dont know.

  • The two gifs were meant to demonstrate that the amount of damage you deal affects how much you heal.

Both are in healing stance, but since my left weapon is stronger i heal more and i heal faster.

  • How does one reach 133% attack speed?

    Titles - Godlike Control Freak (1000 S+ runs) - 10% attack speed

    Glacial Earrings/Necklace - 5% each for a total of 10%

Shoulderguard - 4% on VC, 5% on Aurite (some lower tier blue equips can actually reach 7%)

Weapon - 4% on VC, 5% on Aurite (some lower tier blue equips can reach 7%)

Brooches - 4% from a Giga SD set in gloves

    ---

Having all of this takes you to 132% attack speed assuming VC gear and Giga SD brooches.

This can go higher if you have Aurite gear, Tera brooches, or BSK brooches instead.
