Energy Cost for Normal, Hard and Maniac.

  • So I hit 52 the other day and a bunch of new quests opened up, I believe all were Replay types. Most of them were for Forgotten Armory. I thought I had hit the jackpot, since I prefer to run quests while grinding... seems like a win/win to me. So I go to FA thinking that I could bust out these quests in Maniac mode for a bit more exp from kills, but nope, all the quests were locked to Normal. I ran them, and new quests for FA opened up, and yet again these were all locked to Normal.


    I went through the entire series of these quests, from Ep 1 to Ep 4, and all were locked to Normal mode. If I recall, this earned me a total of 5% xp at 52... from the kills and the quest rewards from Ep1 to Ep4, and cost 60 Energy. Note, I was running the 20% exp buff and had +39% exp from gear / titles. 5% for 60 Energy. That just seems wrong. So I started to question why the difficulty modes all cost the same.


    Is this the same for all regions? I'm thinking it is, but I do find it odd that quests which do not specifically state which difficulty it needs cannot be ran in whatever difficulty you want, especially since the cost is so high for running a Normal vs. Maniac.

  • Yes, same thing for all regions. Hopefully they'll make energy costs different according to difficulty. Leveling up in the 50s is super slow, all sidequests are total garbage, they give less than finishing a maniac run with A rank.

  • because before for other version the normal exp was same as maniac, you only can get more drops from maniac but same exp.

  • If I’m not wrong they kept the same energy for al the difficulties while JP has 2/4 more energy for hard and manic. I can’t be sure because I’m not logging on JP anymore

  • Please don't claim anything without proof. Link a source or show a screenshot. It makes a statements much more trustworthy.

    About the energy cost, yes this is definitely sometime they should change. Why not turn this into a suggestion?

  • I think it's crucial that the higher-difficulty levels cost the same as normals - a game like this is most fun when you're pushing yourself to the limits of your skills, and making the higher difficulty stages obviously more energy efficient helps to push players towards this.

    However, I will also say that a quest shouldn't be locked to normal difficulty, as that's literally creating the worst experience possible on a progression and gameplay level. Normal difficulty should be the starting level for new players, by the time they're in Ruin Fortress they should be tackling Manics. This sounds like a bug so I would actually report it as such, there's no design reason for this to be the case, given that all the other difficulty-locked stages are both tagged and there's no quests outside of Ruin Fortress that seem to be like this.
