This needs to be fixed. Brooches are taking up space in my warehouse more than anything and they're useless.What are they even used for? Whatever it is, I find no use for them. Too little space for so many items... It's honestly annoying

I agree they need to fix this.
But for now there is one simple solution (if you have a character slot left)
Bank them all - create an alt - take them out of bank - delete alt
Or if you dont have a character slot available you can simply store them on an alt you don't play for now.
Until it's fixed it will save you some frustration. -

EDIT: So I found out on order to get rid of brooches you have to move them over old brooches that are placed in fashion or you can fuse them with a brooch fuser.

you can also upgrade green to blue and blue to yellow, and it will make it a premium item. it only cost 50 grutin coin aswell ( the teddy bear ) this way you wont feel bad later when you know you deleted 100+ ones
