I'm confused on how some stat work

  • Hi, I am a newbie to MMO.RPG Until now I encounter some stat which seem redundant (might not). Hope you guys can tell me on items that say:

    1) damage reduce which has multiple version, damage reduce (only), damage reduce on boss and damage reduce basic

    2) attack speed, attack (only), attack damage %, does it applied to basic attack only or base damage or inclusive skills?

    3) how evasion works? Its applied on both basic and boss?

    4) how attack speed works? Is it applied to basic attack only, or it means faster casting time, or faster overall animation?


    I have many more question but I will keep other question for later time. Thanks in advance :)

    1. I assume its normal mobs, elite mobs (those with SA) and bosses
    2. Pure Attack should just be added, attack percentage I think apply to everything but I might be wrong. Needs testing.
    3. Evasion should just be a chance to take half damage, mob type doesn't matter
    4. Pretty sure attack speed is overall animation, it does make Stellas Spirit Swamp faster
  • Damage reduce means that it reduces damage from those attack types. Boss is just from boss. I'm not totally sure because I've seen all sorts of people say different stuff but I believe attack damage % is a scaling modifier to your attack damage which is your overall damage. Evasion is like the opposite of accuracy which causes attacks to miss based on the value(PvP attacks will not miss entirely and you will take "partial damage" from them). Attack speed scales best with channeled skills but also makes casting speeds and attacks faster, it's not exactly significant, though.

    Yes and no. Most of the time it will speed-up the animatin (Lily, haru) However there are some skills (Erwin's, Stalla's) that have a set time, in thus case it will increase nimber of ticks

  • 1. Damage reduction actually comes in 4 varieties: basic, boss, pvp, and no modifier. Basic refers to trash mobs and elites, boss is the map boss, pvp is for other players, and no modifier refers to all sources.


    2. Attack speed is a % increase to your overall animation speed. Flat attack increases e.g +45 attack, apply to your whole attack, because the actual increase is a fixed amount. Attack % only applies to your base attack, meaning it does scale with your weapon attack or flat attack bonuses from gear.


    3. Evasion is basically what you would call Parry in other games. It refers to the chance you will deflect the incoming attack and take reduced damage. The only way to completely "evade" damage is to not be in the attack hitbox. Basic mpbs, bosses, and players can all evade and attack. To reduce the chance that an enemy evades your attack, you increase your accuracy stat. Partial damage increases the damage you do when an enemy evades your attack.


    4. Attack speed improves the speed of your animations overall, and it applies to both basic attacks and skills. Keep in mind that some characters like Erwin that have particular skills that scale with attack speed, meaning they directly do more damage the higher your attack speed is.

  • 1. What you need to know about damage reduce - the value shown in your stats menu isn't the "real" value. The "real" value is calculated from the "displayed" value in your stats window. It's unknown how it's calculated, but the "real" value will always be lower than the "displayed" value. For example - if you equip 4/4 armor set from Golden Citadel, you'll theoretically have 100% damage reduction from Primal/Saurus, but in reality it will be more like 80-85% damage reduction. Same thing applies to all other kinds of "damage reduction".


    2. For example:

    a) +4% attack speed will make all of your actions faster (basic attacks AND skills).

    b) +300 attack will increase your attack stat in status window by 300. This will make all of your damage stronger (both basic attacks and skills). For example, if you had 10000 attack before and now have 10300 attack, all of your basic attacks and skills will deal approximately 3% more damage.

    c) +50% attack will increase your BASE attack by 50%. Your base attack is when you take everything off. Base attack is usually around 1500 at level 55 (depends on class). So a +50% attack stat will only add about +750 attack if your base attack was 1500.


    3. Evaded attack = you deal/take 50% of damage.


    4. Attack speed increases animation of skills and basic attacks. BUT it doesn't make "charge" skills any faster. For example, one of Erwin's skills needs to be charged for a few seconds - it will not charge any faster with higher attack speed.
