From all honesty, Gameforge is not as bad as people make it out to be. If anything, there are "okay." Just like mentioned in other posts, the log in rewards are nice, and they do listen to some feedback. At the beginning, the huge turn down for most of the people was the huge xp and increase of difficulty, but other than that, I can't recall much. But in reality, if there is something to blame is not the publisher, but the genre.
There are a few who complain and criticize the speed in which the game develops, but there are a few things that these people overlook. First, a small game have a small developer team. You can't expect a small team to work at the speed of a large one, that is not possible. Second is that a small game bring less money to deal with; however, you might argue that a small game cost a lot less which is true, but the difference is not one of a significant amount. They are limited to the amounts of things they can do whether it is money concern or lack of developers.
I see people are worried about the population, but here is the thing. More people are getting away from dungeon crawling games for whatever reason. We can discuss why and what caused these people to leave, but we have realize that those kind of people are the same ones who will eventually leave for any or without reason. I can go on and explain the many reasons why people choose to avoid or leave the games, but the situation is that it will happen regardless of what we do. The population of these type of games are relative small and will continue to become smaller. You can't expect them to be big unless it is an exceptional game like PoE, but even then it wouldn't be fair to compare PoE and SW because of the relevant differences.
All there is to do is continue playing it until there is no more. I can't really see how you can revolutionize a dungeon crawling online game to be in par with the other genres out there. If you notice, most of the games aren't different from each other when it comes down to it. To revive this genre, they will have to find a way to improve it or change the premise/objective the genre promises. Time changes quickly, what was entertaining back then is not as entertaining as now.
About Kritika:
I don't think it is fair to compare Kritika with Soul Worker. Kritika is a huge mess and it was a mess before they published it on NA. It seemed that they came with the idea of "succeeding" in NA while not in KR which was a huge failure. There is a lot of things here and there that also prevented it from achieving their goal, but I don't really want to get into details. Don't get me wrong, kritika had a wonderful combat, better than SW, but that doesn't justify the whole game. Bottom line is that if a game fails in its original region, chances are it will also fail in other regions.
