Recommended AR Cards guide

  • Foreword

All the card effects described in this guide are for their maximum level (maximum Tier). You should upgrade your cards to their highest Tier to get the most benefits out of them.

Cards that come from AR Cubes (2-5★ cards) are usually better than the craftable 1★ cards. There are, however, some 1★ AR Cards that you'll want to use even if you're loaded with 2-5★ cards. It should be easy enough for you to figure out which those are.

    Useful and/or Semi-Useful Craftable (1★) AR Cards

There aren't that many decent or good craftable (1★) AR Cards. I'll try to list those that might be actually useful if you don't have any better alternative to use from the 2-5 star cards.

If a 1★ card isn't listed here, this means it's not worth bothering with.

Active 1★ cards for clearing trash mobs and dealing damage over a large area:

    1. Junk Knight:

    - Crafted from Dark Helmet Piece dropped in Junk Pool Episode 4 in Candus City.

    - Deals damage in a square-shaped area, can reach mobs far into a room. Does less damage than Deus Ex Machina, but the attack finishes faster and can reach further into the stage. It knocks down enemies with the last hit, so mobs will take some time to stand up and continue running towards your direction.

    2. Deus Ex Machina:

    - Crafted from Giant Robot Finger dropped in Forgotten Armory Episode 4 in Ruin Fortress.

    - Deals damage over time in a circle-shaped area. Has better reach to the sides than Junk Knight, but doesn't reach very far in a straight line. Deals more damage than Junk Knight, but it takes longer to finish all 3 hits of this summon. Each hit will paralyze enemies as well. While the enemies are paralyzed, they won't be able to come closer to you and won't be able to group them up effectively. Therefore you should use this card if you're confident you can kill them with the card itself, or if they're already gathered up nicely together.

    3. Arachnis:

    - Crafted from Spider Queen Crown dropped in Big Mouth Episode 4 in Candus City.

    - Deals damage over a wide area and inflicts bleed that deals damage over time. This card is not widely used, as its damage is lower than the two cards mentioned above. Might be worth trying out due to its very wide range.

    4. Snake:

    - Crafted from Snake Fragments dropped in NED Company Episode 4 in Grace City.

    - Deals damage over a fairly wide area. Personally I never tried this card out, but I've seen 2 or 3 people use it in some situations. You might wanna give it a try.

Active 1★ cards for single-target damage (decent for bosses):

    1. Squall:

    - Crafted from Fire Extinguisher dropped in Buster Core Episode 2 in Ruin Fortress.

    - Deals damage in a small area in front of the player. Creates an AoE fire pool that deals the most damage if the boss is stationary and doesn't move from the pool. Deals the most damage against large bosses, as they will get hit multiple times (the fire pool consists of a few smaller AoE circles).

    Active 1★ cards for healing:

    1. Cynthia:

    - Crafted from Antique Worn Out Script dropped in Big Mouth Episode 3 in Candus City.

    - Heals HP of all players within range.

    2. Dignity Snatcher:

    - Crafted from Mysterious Snatcher dropped in a random RNG box obtained from clearing Steel Grave Episode 10.

    - Heals HP of all players within range. Additionally attacks enemies within range.

    Active 1★ cards for support:

    1. Temptation Stone:

    - Crafted from Doll Fragments dropped in RNG box called History Page, which in turn is dropped in RNG boxes called Red Glutton Cube or Gold Glutton Cube, which drop randomly from enemies in Ruin Fortress or casual raids. Please be aware that the History Page items sold in S-Coin machines are not the same History Page that drops from Red/Gold Glutton Cubes. You need the History Page from Red/Gold Glutton Cube to have a chance at obtaining Doll Fragments.

    - Creates a safe zone for a few seconds. Players inside the safe zone are invincible and cannot be knocked up, knocked down or pushed by enemy attacks. This is especially useful at Primal during the x21 HP Bars phase, when you have to activate a device and don't want to be knocked up by enemy attacks.

    Passive 1★ cards for offense:

    1. Brock:

    - Crafted from Martial Arts Book dropped in Concrete Jungle Episode 2 in Candus City.

    - Increases Critical Rate by 20% for 3s with 10% probability when attacking an enemy. Has a cooldown of 15 seconds.

    2. Black Gauntlet:

    - Crafted from Steel Gloves dropped in Front Lines Episode 1 in Grace City.

    - Increases Attack Speed by 10% for 5s with 10% probability when attacking an enemy. Has a cooldown of 10 seconds. Semi-useful card for classes that benefit from attack speed, mainly Erwin and Stella.

    3. Sentry Commander:

    - Crafted from Safety Barricade dropped in Control Base Episode 1 in Ruin Fortress.

    - Increases Attack Speed by 10% for 6s with 10% probability when critically attacking an enemy. Has a cooldown of 40 seconds. Due to its high cooldown, it's only useful for burst DPS on Erwin and Stella.

    Passive 1★ cards for support:

    1. Megiddo Maker Mk2:

    - Crafted from Lighter dropped in Area 9 Episode 2 in Grace City.

    - Restores 20% stamina every 15 seconds.

    2. Cell:

    - Crafted from Twisted Cells dropped in N-102 Episode 1 in Candus City.

    - Restores 10% stamina with 5% probability when attacking an enemy. Has a cooldown of 10 seconds. Not as useful as the card mentioned above.

    3. Dancing Shadow:

    - Crafted from Glowing Blade Fragments dropped in Flame Breaker Episode 4 in Grace City.

    - Restores 90% stamina when hit by enemy. Has a cooldown of 30 seconds.

    4. Chaser:

    - Crafted from Broken Blade dropped in NED Company Episode 1 in Grace City.

    - Restores 20% SG with 10% probability when critically attacking an enemy. Has a cooldown of 15 seconds.

    5. Xenia:

    - Crafted from High-Frequency Generator dropped in Area 9 Episode 4 in Grace City.

    - Restores 30% SG every 60 seconds. Not as useful as the card mentioned above.

    Useful 2-5★ AR Cards

All of those cards come from opening AR Cubes, and some of them can only be obtained from special, time-limited cubes or special events. Please be aware that at launch, some of those cards might not be available. If that's the case, it will be noted down in a card's description.

Every 2-5★ Card comes in Normal version and a Hidden version. The Hidden version has a Holographic tint on the card's image. It also has a symbol µ at the end of the card's name. The Hidden version of each 2-5★ card is generally stronger, but sometimes can have different or additional effects.

Active 2-5★ cards for clearing trash mobs and dealing damage over a large area:

    1. Rita ★4:

    - Tier 1 Rita summons damaging circles concentrated in a single area, while Tier 2 and Tier 3 summon more circles that are more spread-out and cover a larger area. Tier 3 has a wider range than Tier 2. The Hidden version of this card deals more damage and has a wider range of the circles.

Active 2-5★ cards for single-target damage (very good for bosses):

    1. Glutton Army ★5:

    - Tier 3 summons more gluttons and they attack more efficiently. The Hidden version of this card adds even more gluttons, more damage and better AI for the gluttons. Gluttons deal damage over time, so it's not the best solutions for bosses that die in a few seconds.

    2. Rita ★4:

    - For small bosses, it's best to use Tier 1 version of this card. For medium and large bosses, use Tier 3 instead. The difference between Tier 1 and Tier 3 damage on small bosses isn't that high, so considering the fact that Tier 3 also gives you better mobbing utility and better damage on large bosses, you should upgrade it to Tier 3.

    Active 2-5★ cards for healing:

    1. Cynthia & Hugh 4★:

    - Recovers a substantial amount of HP to all party members within range and paralyzes enemies within range.

    Active 2-5★ cards for support:

    1. Big Puppet 5★:

    - Summons 7 balls that give buffs. The only ball you'll be interested in is the golden ball. This ball, upon breaking, explodes in a small radius and gives every party member standing close to the ball a 5 second buff called "Release". This buff resets all of your skills' cooldowns to 0 seconds for 5 seconds. This means after activating this buff, all of your skills that were previously on cooldown are now available to use, and you can spam them for the next 5 seconds. It's an incredible card that should be one of your main priorities to get. The Hidden version of this card has better chance to spawn golden balls. Upgrading it to Tier 3 is also a necessity to have a good chance of getting golden balls. Please be aware that it only takes 2 hits to make a ball explode. If you keep hitting the ball over and over, it won't explode until you give it at least 1 second of rest. The balls will explode automatically after about 12-15 seconds from being spawned. Please be careful not to explode balls by accident if you're using AoE skills. Also try to cooperate with your party members so that they can get to a golden ball before someone explodes it. Try to always maximize the number of people who get a buff from the golden ball.

    2. Rapid Flame 4★:

    - Summoning this card will give you a random buff, but more importantly it will tank some damage for you. If you get hit while this card is active, you won't take damage until a certain HP threshold. It's useful for beginner players, but experienced players won't really find much use for it.

    3. Asphalt Golem 3★:

    - This card will summon a golem that will draw aggro of all enemies for a pretty long time. This card is useful in Golden Citadel for dragging 4 minibosses together in each room. It's also useful in Primal for drawing the attention of small tentacles, so that they won't knock up players in your raid.

    Passive 2-5★ cards for offense:

    1. Brock 2★:

    - The Hidden version will increase your Critical Rate by 20% for 4.5 seconds with 20% probability when hitting enemies. Has a cooldown of 10 seconds. An essential card for almost every player.

    2. Black Gauntlet 2★:

    - The Hidden version will increase your Attack Speed by 5% for each stack (maximum 3 stacks) for 4.5 seconds with 15% probability when hitting enemies. A good card to have for classes like Erwin or Stella.

    3. Force Strike 3★:

    - The Hidden version will increase your Critical Rate by 3% and Attack by 8%. Please be aware that the Attack increase only applies to your base attack, so it's going to be not very noticable at all. The only good thing about this card is its 3% Critical Rate. Generally this card is recommended if you have nothing better from passive offensive cards to equip.

    4. Sentry Commander 3★:

    - The Hidden version will increase your Attack Speed by 15% for 6 seconds with 15% probability when critically hitting enemies. Has a cooldown of 30 seconds. This card is useful for classes like Erwin or Stella, but you must time it right so it activates while you're using ultimate skills for those classes.

    5. Shion 3★ (in some regions it might be a different star rating):

    - The Hidden version will increase your Critical Damage by 900. A wonderful DPS card that everyone should consider using if they have it.

This card might not be available at launch.

    6. Sedurin 4★:

    - The Hidden version will increase your Critical Rate by 40% and Attack by 50% for 10 seconds with 20% probability when hitting an enemy. It has a cooldown of 40 seconds. The Critical Rate increase is very high, and the Attack increase is decent (please remember it only applies to your base attack). The only downside of this card is its very long cooldown. It's a good card for burst DPS, especially if you're doing casual raids or GC when there's lots of downtime between each enemy wave. For sustained DPS it's good but not super spectacular.

This card might not be available at launch.

    7. Catherine 5★:

    - The Hidden version will increase your damage to bosses by 17%. Arguably the best offensive passive card, always use it if you can.

This card might not be available at launch.

    8. Lucy 5★:

    - The Hidden version will increase your Critical Damage by 2100 for 7 seconds with 10% probability when using a skill. It's a great offensive passive card, but it relies on RNG to activate.

This card might not be available at launch.

    9. Yomi 5★:

    - The Hidden version will increase your Critical Damage by 600 and give you 5% Damage Reduction. It's a decent offensive passive card, if you don't have Shion or Lucy.

This card might not be available at launch.

    Passive 2-5★ cards for support:

    1. Megiddo Maker Mk2 2★:

    - The Hidden version will recover 25% Stamina every 5.5 seconds. This is a fantastic card, useful for Primal especially if you're just learning the dungeon and feel the need to dodge a lot.

    2. Cell 2★:

    - The Hidden version will recover 19% Stamina with 5% probability when hitting an enemy. This card is a good alternative for classes that can do multi-hits.

    3. Flame Tempest 2★:

    - The Hidden version will recover 25% SG with 20% probability when hitting an enemy. Has a cooldown of 15 seconds. Semi-useful if you're playing an SG-starved class like Lily or Erwin solo. Useless if you're playing in party and have a Stella.

    4. S-01 2★:

    - The Hidden version will recover 15% SG with 19% probability when being attacked by enemies. Has a cooldown of 20 seconds. Like the card above, it's semi-useful in some scenarios, but if you can use the other card instead.

    5. Xenia 2★:

    - The Hidden version will recover 75% SG every 60 seconds. A decent SG-recovery card, but the drawback is that you have to wait a whole minute for the effect to activate.

    6. Enoch 3★ (in some regions it might be a different star rating):

    - The Hidden version reduces SG cost by 12%. It's not super useful, but if you have no better passive cards there's no reason why not to use it.

This card might not be available at launch.

    7. Sean 2★:

    - The Hidden version will increase Zenny aquisition from enemies by 20%. Decent card for farming Zenny. Use it if you want to contribute to inflation : )

  • Nice job (as always)!

Even tho new players won't immediately understand the importance of A.R. Cards, this will definetly become a core guide for everyone. Also very helpful that you put the location where to drop each one of them.

  • Does someone know for what the akasha card is that you can buy from the tanuki, the 3 star one

i thought it would be usefull as fusion fodder...but when i tried it said it is not possible to use this one for fusion

  • Awesome! I don't have ANY of these yet, lol. I'll second the question about the 3star Grutin(sp?) card? What exactly IS that for? No skill added, can't use to fuse. So WHY this card?

  • Does akasha passive skill stack? like when hp is under 20% increase def by 40%. I have 3 of these and don't know if I'll fodder the other two or use them as well

once you max out a card EXP you have to go back to add and upgrade it there with either a Nebula Card(or higher ver) or Same Star value card of the one you are trying to upgrade. It will tell you on the card what it needs. So you can use those 3 star ones as fodder for other 3 star cards

  • Can somebody explain what happens when you remove AR card?

Game says that it's exp reset, but does it affect card level or only current exp %?

After you remove card can you pass it to another character on account?

    Thank you.

    Thank you.

Only resets the exp, but it does not affect the card level.

As far as I know you cannot trade Akasha cards once they are in card form. Only the items you use to add them at Shiho can be traded or sold.

  • you can however give it to another character via bank - which is what he wanted to know
