I really want to play Soulworker, I do. But the games camera is so close to the character that gives me headaches. We could really use an FOV slider, or even just the ability to zoom out more. I'm sorry if this sounds hyperbolic, but I legitimately cannot play the game. I get sick very quickly.
FOV is too low, I cannot play the game.

Yes, they really should do something about FOV or camera distance max. It was really uncomfortable for at first too but I get used to things really easily. There was also someone who has the same issue you as you in Motion Sickness Camera Too Close

What is Video Game Motion Sickness?
Motion sickness caused by video games, sometimes called simulator sickness, is caused when there is a disconnect between what your eyes are seeing and what your body is feeling. The most common theory (taken from many medical websites) about why you get sick is that your body thinks that you have been poisoned and you are hallucinating the movement that you are seeing but not feeling, so you get nauseous and (if you don’t stop playing right away) vomit in order to flush the toxins from your body. - 'Your body can get used to it after repeated sessions (a pattern of playing and getting sick, stopping, and then restarting later when you feel better until you stop getting sick entirely) when your brain finally realizes that what you are seeing and doing isn’t actually harming you. That process of getting used to it can take a while and isn’t pleasant.'
Quoted from somewhere. OP will get used to it

I had the same Issue but after playing for 30 hours now im totally fine with it !
The first 5 Hours will be very bad tho..
-
Same here, OP. I really enjoy the game in general, but I can only play in short bursts because of the camera being so close.
-
Google "SoulWorker zoom tool"
Fixes the issue the developer/publisher probably will never.
Alternatively, you have to play in a 4:3 resolution because the game is Vert- FoV scaling. Only 4:3 (or 5:4) was comfortable enough for me. 16:10 still felt too zoomed in, but maybe it's your middle ground.
-
Try lowering sensitivity so you don't like move the camera around like crazy. Works for me,
-
There are files where this can be changed but since its been stated by GF that changing anything like that is a bannable offence i would not recommended it.
I do not understand why they don't do it tho. Its like super easy

-
Go to district 6, See the camera view there. It's not the same as in dungeons itself....
that one is actually far away from the character
-
I had no problem with this game but i had problems with Soul reaver 1 hope you get well op !

Yes, that is specified in those files I was talking about earlier. Can't access them now since I am at work.
As soon as I get home i'll give you guys the name of the file.

I would also prefer zooming my camera a bit further out.
-
Megaten had the same issue. The default camera was way too close and it annoyed/bugged a lot of players, including me.
Some good Samaritan actually created a mod that allowed the users to scroll out the camera pretty far and everyone used it. xD It was actually so widely used that the GMs didn't ban people for using it because well they can't ban the entire playerbase and most of the GMs used it as well. :x
It isn't so bad, compared to Megaten that is, on soulworker, but being able to zoom out a little bit more would be amazing. Sadly, it will never happen
Since we have no control over the game. Neither does GF. And our suggestions will always be ignored. -
I had it similar, but in different order, after 30-40 hours i got sick of this FOV and i just cant play it (but i have to...).
-
Just use the tool as many people do actually and you are fine ~ I guess
Gameforge won't do anything about that , the hype of the game is going down i doubt they wanna ban their entire player base for that and rather keep them ~ ( And it doesn't give any advantage so why not.. oh , well maybe pvp'ers will complain but pvp is dead here so who care )
I play on a 40' screen 3840x2160 It's unplayable , even if i get used to it before , fight a big boss in a tiny room or corner and tadaaa you see nothing . -
It also seems to be tied to class. It's perfectly fine on Stella, but playing any other class makes me uncomfortable. Lily is borderline bearable, but Haru and Erwin are just awful to play regarding the field of view.

I hope you realize you are advertising a bannable 3rd party tool on the forums.
As many people already said - you'll get used to it. It's the only real option you have. I got used to this FOV. Not to mention - different FOVs on different people leads to unfair advantages. I personally am glad there's a unified thing here.

Where do you figure you get a unfair advantage? The forever non-existent PvP? The non-existent endgame?
Achievements is this games endgame and changing you FOV should not matter to anyone?

If you consider it an unfair advantage then playing in higher resolution on a bigger screen is an advantage too, everyone should have fixed 800:600 resolution to be fair.
Seriously tho, before using this i tried rescaling UI for skills icons to take less space on the screen as the last resort but... it scales only windows, not the "game" UI.
If i have this game fullscreen and minimize it i get DC from server after around 3 min idle, so im forced to play windowed borderless which forces me to 16:9 on 16:10 monitor...
If the bugs would get fixed and a few menu options are added this mod will be less appealing, until then this is the only solution.
