Anyone else just concerned?

  • Like, I see daily people complaining (no problem with that, feedback and complaints about issues is a good thing). But it really makes me think whether I should put time and maybe even possible money into this game. Of course I'm not going to yet anyway because I want to see how it goes plus I only have a main interest in playing Iris lol.

But with how outfits are being released constantly but no updates on how progression development wise is going makes me have a bad feeling this game (at least the gameforge version) is going to have a very short life span because of how they just want to make as much off cosmetics then abandon the game after full release.

I want to know your guy's opinions, whether they ease my concerns or not for this game. Last thing I want to do is move to the private server which I'm still confused about personally

  • If you have fun play it. All games are fun till a point a played legue for 1500 hours then got bored of it after i hit diamond 3 seasons in a row and coud not progress further. And thats fine had the fun then left. If you are looking for an MMO that you coud play for many(3+) years this one i dont think is a good choice. But who knows. Look at maple that shit is super p2w and its doing fine population wise.

  • It's all speculation at this point. They could release content consistently when the game is "officially" out or they can drop the ball and just work on cash shop (which is something ALOT of game companies do nowadays since its their biggest profit margin). I agree they should be more vocal with the games updates, release patch notes frequently and state a plan on when content will be released, but besides that I'm not sure there's much else we can speculate on. Right now though, there is much they could be doing better. Addressing the cash shop price differential, fix the VIP glitch, make the last levels (50-55) more new-player friendly by adding a higher limit of replays, promote streamers who actively play their game, add the district 6 "raid boss", promote more d6 pvp incentives and like I mentioned, be more vocal with the playerbase.

Definitely this, especially with them being vocal about things, like what they're planning to add with the next update, issues they know currently, give like a response every now and then to hot topics (means that you're keeping an eye on).

I like this game and I don't want to have this game die out, but I'm not putting all my faith and trust to blindly invest into this game yet.

I have been considered since we have had zero information on any concerns, content frequency or secret patches that have been happening. The only thing up see is their hand out and people putting money in. Never see a beta where the devs team was this Swayze.

  • People like to complain and are the most vocal. I'm not judging the content updates and such yet since the game isn't officially out, seems like they're mostly working on the bug fixes and server issues for now and hopefully when the game releases the full version they'll have a better EP system and add the 2 characters that aren't out yet. Then hopefully updates will come at a more constant rate. Cash shop requires little no no effort to add stuff in which is probably why we're seeing new outfits from the other versions of the games being added already. They haven't been the best at communicating their progress but I've seen worse.

If you have fun playing the game then play. It's a fun game and if you're waiting on a character you can always try to get money so when they are released you can buy stuff for them.

  • I can understand why would you like to know if worth spending time or money or both onto this game but as cliche as this could sound, what I think that really matters is if you enjoyed your time/money invested here regardless if were a few days and a few dollars or if were a few years and a few millions. I'm enjoying the game for now and would love to see it last for a little bit longer.

For all the complaining I do, I play the game a lot (103 hours atm) because it's legit fun and I like the gameplay and my cute character.

Just now that at this rate it won't be lasting for long. If you're fine with that, knock yourself out.

I'm used to moving from game to game between Elshit, BnS, DFO, Closers, now this, so I can kinda see where they're going with this already.

  • Ignore the idiots that complain about everything. It's not going to do you any good. There's very little issues that are worth complaining about but, you see people complaining about everything in the book even things that all MMOs share. (Like a certain person in this very thread right now that if you check through his forum account 95% of his posts consists of nothing but non-stop complaints.) People who will complain will complain regardless and they will try to find faults even in the tiniest of places.

The Gameforge Soulworker version isn't that different from the other servers especially in terms of updates. Right now KR and JP have been updating the new class advancements for the past year or so. Before then it was updating raids and increasing level cap. That's the bulk of the major content you should be expecting to see. So, don't let it turn you off that Gameforge is doing nothing but releasing cash shop updates because that'll be majority of what you're going to see before a major patch drops in any of the servers no matter where you go to.

What'll kill the game isn't what Gameforge is currently doing. They're not even really doing anything wrong as of yet. What'll kill the game is two major things.

1.)The game being young so it doesn't know what direction it wants to take yet. Most KR MMOs get weeded out in the first few years. The Korean game scene is very tough. Most Koreans won't give a new game the time of day. That's why Soulworker was released in Japan first as a way to test the water. Especially the genre Soulworker resides in - 3D anime-style beat em up. If you go to KR Soulworker now there's only about 50 people playing. If the mother server fails then all servers shut down.
2.)The lack of an actual PVP mode. Any game that only has a dedicated PVE mode without a dedicated PVP mode will eventually fail. PVP is the main lifespan of most MMOs. So much so that even if the game doesn't have actual endgame content, if PVP is fun enough for most people that alone will keep a large portion of the community playing. Liongames is currently working on how they want to implement PVP in the future with various updates on KR but should they take too long then RIP.

When you run a game and you want people to share your vision you have for the game you dont clam up and throw outfits out every week. If the are doing what you claim where is the announcement. Something anything at this point. Maybe you are comfortable with a beta where they dont actually address player feed back but let me remind people thats what a beta is for...its not to milk the players until launch.

People are complaining because GF hasnt said anything but "buy our cash shop items!" Maybe people would be re-assured if we heard ANYTHING? Also where are you getting this information about what they are doing during this uncomfortable silence?

  • First off why the name calling? Also are we playing the same game? You say that there is nothing to complain about but tell that to all the threads that come in daily about legitimate isssues. You might be happy with a company doing the bare minimum but GF is not even doing that.

I want this game to be good and its really frustrating that they treat their players so badly. Whats even worse is when player such as yourself dismiss concerns and start name calling. Can you honestly look at this situation and say its ok?

Damn, 50 whole players. I love how you knew the *exact* amount of people playing on the server, and totally didn't pull it outta nowhere at all. Pretty sure if it was just 50 whales, those servers and content updates would not even sustain themselves at all. They'd be better off shutting down, lol.

They've already implemented pvp, with it's own mode and everything. Problem is, the pvp is not good.
Hopefully they take a note from Dragon Nest before it got stupid, remove superarmour or add superarmour and superarmour break values, as well as decrease the amount of "oneshot damage" you do in this game. That'd be a fantastic start to make pvp great. None of this gauge stuff. If you wanted to avoid pvp, you should take the chopper.
Also, cap stamina to 100, and make dodge just 20 instead of 40 in district 6/pvp modes, and suddenly we have a pvp system to speak about.

  • People complain about how Gameforge is releasing outfits and stuff during the beta but all I see is them just side-releasing content to help us maintain interest in the game while they keep working on the issues. It's like you giving a kid a new toy so they can be entertained! In this case it won't work very well because people want content, and right now I think they're biding the release of Golden Citadel to full or close to full release. In my opinion, if you want to spend money you totally should! If not, then don't. I believe if I thoroughly enjoy a game and believe I will stay for a long while/make it my "home" mmo then I will definitely spend money on it! It's the kind of situation we're in right now. It's fully up to you how you should spend your money as nobody can guarantee it is worth your while.

But if you want to see what people have been doing you should check out threads about fashion here or anywhere! It might give you some fun ideas if you ever want to invest in the game.

  • Oh, you guys... Let me address your first, Lathander.

"You say that there is nothing to complain about but tell that to all the threads that come in daily about legitimate issues. You might be happy with a company doing the bare minimum but GF is not even doing that."

-Did I say "NOTHING". No. Don't put words in my mouth. Most of the issues scheming about the game isn't because of Gameforge. IF you people would actually look at the main source of the updates which is Liongames and Smilgate you would see that. Some issues do revolve around Gameforge. Like for example, some of the prices in the IM. But, even then it was most likely to fill a quota asked for by the creators of the game: Liongames. But, most of them have nothing to do with what Gameforge is currently doing.Gameforge only has so much control over the game. They're just taking orders and filling quotas because they're the hosts not the devs.

"I want this game to be good and its really frustrating that they treat their players so badly. Whats even worse is when player such as yourself dismiss concerns and start name calling. Can you honestly look at this situation and say its ok?"

-I personally feel there's a fine line between complaining non-stop emotionally and actually talking about issues that hold value. You fall in the latter of complaining non-stop emotionally and your incoherent forum posts prove that much. How are they treating us badly? I think you people forget that this is a beta. Issues are still being addressed. Just because they don't directly talk to you like the spoiled entitled brat that you are doesn't mean they aren't trying to fix up the issues that are current in this release of the game. Have you ever played a game under very poor management? I don't think you have. Because if you ever have you would know what's going on currently isn't even that great of a deal of what people are making it out to be. P2W, which is what most people complain about. Where? Everything you can access for to help you in game you can grind out yourself. Events later will yield ST resets and guild name resets. IF Gameforge holds honest then we should expect to get those as well at some point in the future. More cash shop updates than game updates? We're in the beta. Even outside of the beta that's what to be expected on every server because the game has been around for roughly 3~4 years and a good chunk of those two years were either beta or class advancements. Glitches and bugs? They're addressed almost every other patch. And glitches and bugs will always been persistent in any update of the game. Because they don't get them all in a single patch doesn't mean they aren't trying. Ninja updates? Most MMOs share such a thing. This isn't a Gameforge neglecting to tell the community about information type thing. I can go down the list. What real issue is there where they're treating us badly? Lack of content updates? We're still in the beta. Even outside of the beta there's not a lot to expect in the long run outside of cash shop updates. I've been checking posts they're trying their hardest to talk to us on every server. Where are they treating us poorly? I fail to see one bit of it. What exactly are you looking for? Summing up roughly what most of your forum posts address I fail to see what you're trying to ask for.

-I'll take that for the joke it is because I know you know what I'm saying. It's an Exaggeration. It means that the playerbase in KR is currently so low that it feels as if only 50 people are playing as of right now. In other words it's very low and that's concerning but it's also to be expected given how it's hard to compete in the Korean game scene.

And like I mentioned KR MMOs don't usually last the first few years. They might very well be close to shutting down if something doesn't happen that draws in more players to the mother server.

"They've already implemented pvp, with it's own mode and everything. Problem is, the pvp is not good."

-No they've not. Outside of district 6 and the new current mode in KR it's more of a very old alpha version released 2~3 years ago and they're still experimenting with various updates on KR and JP. This current PVP build we have on the INT server has been around for about 3? years now.

"Hopefully they take a note from Dragon Nest before it got stupid, remove superarmour or add superarmour and superarmour break values, as well as decrease the amount of "oneshot damage" you do in this game. -Remove a core feature that designs the nature of this game? This is what I'm talking about. People complaining about everything. Super armor? Because you don't like Super armor they should remove a core feature of the game, one that actually gives it a challenge to comply to your entitlement of what you feel is acceptable? You just want to mindlessly hack and slash things? Then this probably isn't the game for you.

-Oneshot damage? The players do in this game? Since you said "we". Are you running around with a +9? Pretty hard to oneshot anything in this game if you're running with the current meta that is +6~+7. Maybe you should let off the gear a little. Because when you reach +9 of course you're going to one shot everything. It's the highest grade you can currently get.

The rest are just as subjective as the rest of something you hold personal of your perfect game rather than anything that means anything worth giving a damn over. They hold no water. So, I won't address those.

Cashshop items are not content. Furthermore people are not complaining about them releasing costumes. We are complaing about them saying "Fuck your concern buy my costumes!" I would tell anyone to have fun but hold off spending your money until we actually see what they are doing to do.

  • It's like you giving a kid a new toy so they can be entertained!

Except you're not giving them a toy to be entertained. You're dangling it in front of their faces and asking them for their lemonade stand money for it. Oh and the stove and heating isn't working. Oh and you don't know if they can go to school tomorrow.

  • It's like you giving a kid a new toy so they can be entertained!

Haha, you got me there. I mean, at least some people are entertained by it, right?

  • True.

Doesn't change the underlying issues tho.

Oh, don't get me wrong, it doesn't. As I had mentioned before, they're probably biding Golden Citadel to release so players who have already done all their endgame will have at least something to do when the game is fully released. We're not even certain whether or not we will see Jin or Iris upon release, but seeing as they want to save us things to do they're probably waiting for us behind the curtain right now.

  • What scares me the most of all tbh is the rate ppl get things right now because of infinite EP and the super not broken at all 20% drop rate from VIP , i know that ppl have lvl 7 soulstones already or probably max lvl even, most ppl walking around with +8/9 and full shion gear almost perfect stats among other thing like titles that should take months to get and ppl being rank B or lower.
Also we can't forget the cockroaches called bots that are inflating dzenai like mad, like less than 2 bucks for 10M, not that i blame GF that much on that regard since botting is pretty much impossible to completely stop.
