When Would/Did You Alt?

  • Hiya everyone! Just for some insight I knew from the start I was going to main Lilly as soon as I saw her and although I have only leveled up to lvl25, I would also like to try out Stella sometime. But I'm not too sure when would be best? I know people will probably say to do so whenever but I would find it hard to balance two characters atm since I don't have much free time and I don't want to favour playing Stella over Lilly and vice versa.

So, I was just wondering from those who do have alts and those who are planning to, when did/will you decide to start them?

  • Don't play an alt until you're 55 so you get that bonus exp.

With how ass awful our exp rates are, you need all the help you can get.

As for me, I'm struggling to even get to 55 on a single character because of how atrocious the game is designed, both from core gameplay/technical issues and the fact that we have the horrible Korean version instead of the Japanese one.

  • Right now I'm a level 51 Stella and waiting to level my Lilly with my friends. I also have a Haru & Erwin that I like to level alone (Haru is primarily to "experience" being solo). People have started using them to farm akasha cards and will probably tell you to save slots for farming them. I don't really care, because I love playing all the characters and am patient enough to wait on transmitters that sometimes come as log-in rewards (just not very often). Keep in mind that before you fill all slots that you can re-make characters to "reroll" the level 1 costume piece box every 24 hours (this is the deletion cooldown). Overall, as someone who loves leveling in really any game: go for it!

  • I've got a Haru alt at level 25. Already got costumes and everything for her since I enjoy her... now I gotta get the 50k bp title on her too, wew. I save my last 2 slots to, like other people said, farm akasha/anti destructions/revives/grutin coins.

  • Whenever you spent your daily energy with your main and still have time. I leveled my main Stella with a friend and when we ran out of energy and I still had time I deciced leveling my Lily alone and they were pretty close, by the time that I got my main to 55 (last weekend) my Lily was already 49 and right now is just 51 cause of lacking time a bit for the two. It shouldn't bother you to prioritize your main, even if you left your alts a bit behind it's still a plus if you cap your main cause of the bonus exp.

Right now I have a Haru as well only lvl 13 cause of time but specially her skills not getting me, I basically only want to try her cause of curiosity about her gameplay and how cute she is (literally I wouldn't mind having her with cute stuff and not even playing her, she has the best hairstyles d**n Haru let Stella have some nice things). I'm not planning making an Erwin so my last slot is being filled with another Stella looking for the ARs and the Anti-destructions until we get a char slot expansion so I can make my planned Stella for reading the story while leveling way slow.

  • I'm almost 54 on my loli atm and I'm trying to play alts more and more because queues are hella dead and I can't be arsed to solo some of these manic dungeons.

  • Thank you everyone for the replies!! I'll probably wait until I cap my Lilly (or at least get close) as I've heard people same end-game is a bit lacking atm which should give me some time. Although, I am a bit confused on how you can use them to farm for akashas etc.?? It's probably some starter bonus thing or I'm being stupid lol but if someone could clarify it would be much appreciated!

Alzii Re-rolling the costume boxes sounds like a good idea, I need that big bow!!

Naruse That sounds like a good strategy, but I find it difficult to use all the energy up anyway since I can only play 2-3 hours when I'm free... But I'll keep it in mind when I hopefully have more spare time!

Komari Ugh I know the feeling, I don't like soloing manic but hardly anyone else queues..

  • I would definitely cap a character before leveling alts. When you get a "rank" it gives a 5% exp boost to your other characters under 55. You can farm akashas with an alt because it takes very little time to 100% Rucco's progression board, easy akasha transmitters. Good luck on your bow! It took me a few days to get the white shirt I wanted.

  • I was planning to cap haru and I got her to around 28, already joined a guild but some other friends made another guild and I joined theirs with an alt Erwin out of curiosity, found I liked Erwin more so instead of torturing myself to cap haru I went and capped Erwin instead lol

  • I just main Erwin even though I'm max level, I hate managing more than one character 'cause I never feel like it's worth spending money or items on another character. I just think of it as "I could have gotten this on my Erwin instead" so I probably will never get another character unless one in the future comes out that I REALLY like and then I'd just consider switching over but then I'd just main that character. I don't like having to manage different characters.

  • If you're planning on upgrading/getting to endgame, you're going to have to play alts anyway.

I'd say start them early, and only play them when you have additional time. (After your 200 EP is gone.)

Just saying, I do not feel any meaningful difference when playing alts now that I am Lv. 55.

5% Really is not that much.

PS: You play this game for fun, if you feel like starting with an alt, just do it.

  • If you don't have enough free time (like I do), it is best to stick to one that will be your main and get it to 55. This is because it will help you to get a basic knowledge of how your leveling progression goes since it's your first time going through so the second time you roll on an alt, you can level it up faster and giving you more free time (or progression) at the end.

  • When we talk about AR Card farm with create/del characters is it really worth it or just min/max strategy? I already leveling my third alt and just found out about people doing so and there's only one character slot left.

It's the only reasonable way to grind AR for free right now. Assuming you have at least 6 hours every day to play and 3 empty character slots, you can get exactly 105 AR in 5 days. This rate is reduced by 2 hours/day and 35 AR/5days for every character slot you aren't using for the grind method. It depends on your priorities. You can potentially profit a lot more in the long run if you have a full account of capped characters and you actually play them, along with getting a bunch of free inventory and bank expansions and other goodies that you wouldn't get from the "efficient" AR grinding method. You also still get a good amount of AR easily from 100% progress all the way up to and including Grace City (after this it takes way too long to get town completion). Also factor in your personal sanity when doing the brain-melting "efficient" method.

Edit: Forgot that the free inventory expansions aren't account-bound.
