EU Servers needs a fusion ASAP

  • The game is in beta testing and you already want a merger. Funny XD

The "beta" seems like the only argument that people like you will always have.... beta this beta that... well better fix this issue before they release the "game"... it seems funny to you yet?

  • I would have prefer too one giant server on EU, but with differents channels

    Like channels 1,2,3,4 : English/ 5-7-8-9: French etc

Would be better for things like finding dungeons

This is a pretty good start to an idea! You should try to polish that and make a suggestion, honestly.

  • well, i switched from de to en.

the reason wasn't because it was poorly populated, because de is quite full, but it was because it has no difference to the en server.

i had to ask everyone in my group, if he really speaks german, and - wow - mostly they don't. the de server is full of russians and pl people, which i don't really get. so i don't think there's a point in having so many servers. also because i assume that the other eu servers must be dead af

  • I was very surprised to see IT, SP and PL servers... most games in EU either stick to English or add German and French.

It's nice that they acknowledge other communities too, but I'd rather have shorter auto team queue times in a higher populated EU server than so many people scattered.

The language division by server channel is a nice idea, +1.

  • I am pretty sure this is GameForge standard process and they didn't really question the decision. At least there is a EN server from the beginning, so you can just start there. If most people join that one naturally there will be a merge in the future, but that might take some years.

I really don't see the point in having specific channels for each language. Really, what's the point? You don't even choose a channel when you log in unless I missed something. I also don't see people saying something like "Hey random stranger, how is your day?" in the public chat very often.

  • Maybe let's release the game first, before we start talking about merges, ok? :)

I do not want to say anything, but somewhere I heard that most of these projects in beta testing did not leave it.

In general, there would be an idea like B&S. There is a very good idea with dungeons, search in which comes from all servers and channels. I think it would greatly accelerate the search in the dungeon.

    p.s. sorry for bad english

Spiral Knight's does it exactly like that.

  • No idea why they even made different servers, who in Europe can't talk english besides russians? at least make it EU West-East, taht would already help a lot.

  • Many ppl can't talk in english because they don't want to learn it/they don't like it/they arte lazy or they think it sucks.

Don't assume that if you are capable of writing in english then everyone is also capable of it.

  • At school, they teach English at a communicative level that should be enough well...

Never experienced italian schools and their obsolete and uneffective teaching method uh? If we have any possibility to learn english, is from videogames/comics/tv series. Not in school for sure.

So yeah, italian people doesn't speak/write english often just because we haven't a serious and efficient way to learn it. As I said in the italian forum, potential issue with a merge is that a lot of italian players will leave the game, cause they've chosen it over others mmos just because they could have it in italian.

That doesn't mean I'm against a merge, at all. Is just that:

    . language issues

    . market inflation

. stability of a larger server

could be an issue. I'm worried about the server expecially. They're not able to keep up a server with just 100/200 people connected on it, I'm sceptical about a mergerd server with 800/1000 players connected at once.

  • I did find it quite confusing when I was deciding a server why there wasn't just an EU server (as seems normal with other MMOs), so I wouldn't be opposed to merging the servers into one or two. That said, luckily EN was a server choice for me.
