So there's the crux of it right there. Putting aside technical considerations, mmorpg on mobile platforms are generally an Eastern phenomenon. Let's frame this by saying I consider the switch a mobile gaming platform. I use mine as such and have no reason to plug it into the TV at home.
While NC Soft saw huge numbers of their lineage 2 base move to lineage 2 revolutions, this isn't really panning out the same in western markets. It's a good example of how the concept isn't really breaking through and a switch mmo would inevitably suffer the same barrier to the market. It's just not how mmo players are used to operating and that's not even codifying the technical reasons.
Granted is an interesting idea but I doubt we'd see it.
