VIP Content, Reselling Problem and Economy.

  • I'll try to keep short since I get really tired on last two wall-text. I really wish the global Soulworker could be better than others.

I suggest the publisher to keep an eye on the economy of this game. Not only the huge amount of gold produced by combination of Bots and VIP booster, but also there is an problem of reselling.

I mentioned the previous one in another post.

And that VIP thing boosts your gold incoming, too.

As a player It actually not worth it if you only need gold; you can simply buy some fashion and hairstyle to sell them, which you get more and no need to grind.

But unfortunately it increases the gold amount that can be circulate in the community, while bots loves it the best. So as a community we have more and more gold therefore the price is increasing everyday.

I look at the fashion market every day, therefore I know how bad the price increasing in market is. For example, a 1950 Soulcash set's price simply x10 just in weeks. Some time, a set sell for 10M yesterday could 20M next day. I understand there are more gold coming to the community since more players hit the max LV, but it is simply too fast considering how long the game has been released open-beta, and how much we spend in the upgrade. I personally think the upgrade isn't cheap, but there are just too much gold, and VIP booster/Bots make it worse.

Speaking about VIP, it is quite disappoint that the VIP didn't come with an EXP booster.

I talked it with my friend two days ago:

Me: "53 to 54 is soooooooo hard. ||"

Me: "Gift me a VIP please. ;) "

Fri: "huh, How much is the VIP btw? :/"

Me: "uh, nevermind. I just found it don't have an exp booster. :("

Although we have items such as battle book in game, beside the expensive price, they are simply not easy to use. It only continues for 1 or 2 hour, therefore If you want to maximum it's value you should do anything but playing. Which means, you shouldn't go bathroom, talk to your family, eat dinner, checking twitter, making post, etc. Certainly no one forced you to do this, but it's a normal reaction that you feel sit on the fire while having something in limited time as short as 1 hour; it simply brings your stress. I used to buy VIP membership in games like Mabinogi. In my opinion, they have a great VIP that not only boost your gold but also the exp for 30 days, which saves me a lot time from grinding. If that $20 VIP membership could come with an 30-days exp booster instead of 2-hour battle books, more people will consider to buy it, including me.

(Meanwhile please reconsider the dzenai booster. I won't say 'please abandon it' because a player like me can't really see the whole economy in game, and it surely decrease people's willing to buy if there is less booster. But like I mentioned before, there are really too much gold and the price keeping increase with an awful speed. At least I think people need to reconsider the percentage on that booster).

Okay let's just make it short on reselling.<X

I have a hard evidence on the reselling topic.

I bought a SFL outfit yesterday for my dearest Lilly for 20M (and in fact the price increased from 7M to 20M less than a week. It increased from 14M to 20M just for a day).

And today after I get up I decide to sell it shame on my impulse buying. I first like to sell it for 30M since there is a 9% fee to use the market. Then my heart of greed comes to me; since there is no one selling it, I set it for 40M, then after 3 seconds deeply thinking I increased it to 50M. In addition, I used two tickets which waives the fee and extend the listing time.

I think it could take sometime since the price is really, really high. I won't even consider to buy it myself with that price. I decided if it hasn't been sold I'll wear it myself.

    But I'm wrong.

    It only took about hours.

The reason I talk about it is because people like me can make easy money through this way. Remember our VIP membership even have a fee waiver; If I have a VIP membership waives fees, I probably going to buy things with 20M and sell it 30M repeatedly since it has very low risk and you have nothing in minus. I think it is necessary to have a mechanism that limit items' transaction, or reconsider the fee waivers. Reselling could put new players in an even more difficult condition, since they usually get fixed amount money when they enter the end game in games like Soulworker; there isn't many things valuable in the early stages.

And again, there are too much gold in community. Seriously, items just being selling like they are free today. I got 20M when I reached LV55. If a new player reached LV55 months later, what they can do with their 20M while things are being seeling at 500M each?

  • 1.Imagine,not only the VIP ones have a lot of DZ,but the players who got the eq and outfits and have 55 they need also have a lot of DZ,so this inflation is smh explainable

2.If you know how to put the stat "bonus xp from enemy" on gear+manic ep 4+if a manic dung has "bonus xp" as a bonus+doing daily quests,u won't need an xp boost. And you are hardly getting xp only from 45+,and 53-55 is the worst in x grow

  • Limit the amount of times you can sell an item on market to 1 mean the person who bought the item will get soul bind instantly Problem solved. And they need to balance the amount of dzenai the server produces and the amount it consumed

The fact that this game is still open beta and considering during launch the market will probably discourage the newer players since they will think the grind is too much even just for fashion items.

The Gap between Between Beta players and Newer players is too big.Hopefully this can be at least be balanced.

There is no fixing it, once premium items became sellable on the market the economy went to shit. the introduction of a VIP package only hurt it more. While the tradeable premium items are not so bad the VIP should not have been added till after official launch to avoid creating a huge gap in beta players and new players after launch. As it stands now once official release happens any new players will look at the market and see that if they want to make any real DZ off the market they will HAVE to buy from the cash shop which only makes the market worse.

  • Well, it will take some time before the markets settle down.

The current problem is the weekend event. It is beyond me who at Gameforge thinks that this event is good in any way. It's not just stupid but it completely destroy the in-game economy. One of the many reasons I am currently on an indefinitely time-out.

There is an effing reason Gameforge why dungeons are more expensive at cap. Not for you to just throw the whole game off-balance but too ensure that veterans won't create too big of a vacuum.

Soulcash will become so ridiculously expensive. I mean, we were all clear on that but not that it would change for the worse so fast.

It all comes down to demand. Some classes are more favoured than others so offering skins, hairstyles, clothes etc. generates a bigger profit margin than for other classes. So these prices are a direct reflection of that very fact.

Furthermore the longer the game exists the more DZ players will have accumulated ergo certain goods can be sold for a higher price. Basic Inflation.

  • The problem with the economy is that there isn't a gold sink that's substantial enough. Repair fee is almost negligible and more or less no one incurs costs on potions. Currently the most expensive thing you probably can do with dz is enhancing. IIRC it was 1 million per try at 55 +7? that's the amount you earn in drops in 2.5 runs of raid (equal to 50 energy). Even excluding VIP stamina, that's 4m of dropped gold per character at cap generated per day(6m if you include the free stamina recovery).

  • That's true. But changing the statts of gear should also be pretty significant. Since you can literally wasted millions by doing so. Been there, done that.

I'm still interested in which direction this game is headed.
