[NA]Crazy Inflation in the market

  • I think part of the problem is gold sellers/buyers. If you see the rates they are offering.... $10 to the gold sellers will get you a lot more than $10 to gameforge. Inflation is happening because of that. gold selling doesnt justify all of the inflation but I believe it plays a large part of it. When theres so much Dzenai going around or being pumped out (aka the sellers) everything will just become inflated. If you want a real life example (kind of a bad example) look at whats happening with the currency in Zimbabwe.... Hyperinflation.

This is exactly the problem. If 1k SC worth of money can buy 40m dz from gold sellers, why should they sell you for anything cheaper? Especially since they don't seem to be doing anything against gold selling/buying yet

  • I think, my only gripe is the tax-free market. It's a perk exclusive to Gold VIP in our version of the game, and allows for sale log market manipulation with zero penalty. It also renders what was otherwise arguably the only useful perk of being in a guild entirely pointless (the reduced tax). Tax was slowing down the rate of inflation and even if it wouldn't have countered the rate solely on it's own, it would have had an effect.

Everything else is a result of the game naturally have high injection of currency in circulation and negligible money sinks. It was bound to happen with NA's tremendous population. On the contrary making several 10s of million a day from a consistent fragment farm at 55 right now means you can accumulate currency quickly as well with enough tenacity. Inflation only means that raw Dzenny farm has lost a lot of buying power whereas it was extremely powerful only weeks ago. Now it's just a slight supplement. It also means that cards like Scral and titles like Greedy Millionaire which merely boost drop Dzenny have lost a lot of value as well.

New players can make quick money by off-loading valuable endgame commodities like Weapon Upgrade Chips, selling a few so they can afford gear comfortably to 55, and stockpiling the remainder for future use. Most general dungeon gear does not seem to be rising at inflation rates meaning just a couple chips are enough to set you until 55, and then at 55 the cost of gearing out will spike enormously.

It is true though, the Dzenny is very volatile, and can depreciate very quickly over the span of a few days. On one hand I'd recommend trading for commodities that rise with inflation like WUC and EC instead of Dzenny, on the other hand if those kinds of items ever make their way back into the Premium Shop like at OBT launch your assets would plummet in value overnight. Risky.

  • I've been saving Dzenai for a lily hair which was only 7Mil when i checked out again its already at 45Mil within a span of 3 days.

I've only played this game for a week and manage to reach level 43 and heard that you get 200k Dzenai in each Raidat end game.

But as A F2p and with limited time for playing this probably wont be enough since the market prices would skyrocket by the time i'd reach that amount of Dzenai

If this inflation keeps up then I'll probably feel bad once the game is out of open beta.

Honestly I get where your coming from. However I cant agree with it. That hair style wont make you a better player. The important thing for the market is the cost of gear. And that to me is pretty good. In most cases if you farm enough you can even get great gear drops and even if its not your weapon. Just sell it on the broker and then buy the one you need.

Thats thing that really drives an economy in a game. You have to realize that in most mmos the fashion hero's are endgamer's that have max out everything so they have no other use for the gold. Or people thats going to whip out the visa and buy it. You know a market is good when you can look at an endgame weapon thats decent and go "hmm thats not a bad price." Now, about that 200k a run its gotta be higher than that. Because even at lvl 32 i get drops that are worth over 1.5 mill from time to time (the jeweler with the set bonus. actually farmed whole set yesterday XD"

As with everything. It just takes time to figure out where the money is. Im still learning. Also when i get blue prints i craft the items and sell them. Sometimes you can buy the mats cheap or just farm them. I made a lvl 26 weapon that i bought the recipe for. +4ed and sold it for 3,999,999. granted the recipe cost me 650k but ehh it was worth it lol. I know everyone likes to look good. But its just like IRL theres no point in looking good and being broke ^^
