The thing this game needs more than anything else, is more playable characters

  • This is not one of those games where you're expected to play only one character, as playing multiple characters tends to be unfeasible due to the amount of very long character specific grinds. In these sort of games, they want you to play multiple characters, as levelling, and gearing up a character isn't nearly as grindy, and will even have things like account benefits to help encourage making more characters. Problem is, this game is seriously lacking in available characters, with only two not yet released here, when other games of this nature have about twenty, or more playable characters.

They could do, as games of this type usually do, where there there will be multiple base character types, with each of those having different variations defined by the weapon they use. I get the feeling they tried to compensate some by adding more grind to this version, what with levelling taking longer here, and more materials being required to crafts things. Although even then, without more playable character types, even the people these games are aimed at will get bored, and at least largely quit before too long, which is likely why people claim this game is so lacking of players in other regions.

  • Considering they recently fixed a bug of an unreleased characters equipment being available it can't take that long until one is released. Patience my young padawan.

As indicated, I'm talking about character types beyond the two not yet released here, as only six characters in a game like this, is much too small of a selection, and as I said is likely is related to how it is said to have so few people playing it elsewhere. While it's not an old game elsewhere, other games would for instance start with three, or four playable base classes, with each having two, or three advanced classes, so even from the start they're on the low side.

  • You pretty much have to wait either way. KR SW are still in development of possibly a seventh playable character in the making though it is only based on speculation at the moment.

  • Just want to mention that in an old preview video from over six years ago, that I remember seeing back then when I was playing the NA release of Rusty Hearts, one of the two unreleased characters, Iris, was shown fighting in it, along with a girl using a chainsaw, with just character art for Haru, Erwin, and someone with a scythe, that likely later became Lilly, but looks nothing like the Lilly we have now. Meaning from then, the only new character type has been the brawler, Jin, and where the heck did the chainsaw chick go?

It's in the database somewhere, just yet to be used.

  • I rather have more content then 12 characters with 3 different classes each. I think 6 is plenty for a game in it's early state. More are sure to come. I see no need too push out character most people probably won't play in a long run this early. If you manage to play all six at once this is already plentiful.

  • If you consider six enough, even for a semi-newish game in Korea yet, then I don't think you guys quite appreciate how many characters people that can play these games will make, or the importance of having different playing characters. Both DFO, and C9 for instance have 10+ character slots by default, and I still get more character slots in those games. Game content in the form of areas always is added in time, but for these games, new characters are also treated as more content that extends the life of a game, and give it a replay aspect.

As I started the thread by saying, this isn't the type of game that has you play one character, due to the extensive grind of playing even just one character, these are the types that want you to play multiple character. With these games they, especially after it has been out for a stretch, tend keep putting out new characters, and extensions to existing characters about as often, or even more often than other forms of game content. This is also why people will brag/complain in these games about how little time it takes to level, and gear up a character. Even after it has been out for some time, that other content will be progressed through fairly quickly, new level caps reached by some in a matter of days, and so on, while in a more grindy game, months after a level cap increase, most could still be trying to get to the old level cap. With these game, having lots of playable characters is quite vital, which is why I say it's the most important thing the game needs.

  • Overall content>playable characters because regardless of how many chars you can play, the content will eventually limit you of doing something new and does not apply the same if you say ''the amount of playable characters will eventually limit you as well'' cause of people that only care for 1 or 2 characters (in terms of gameplay, nu gear) even if the game have 100+ playable characters. Me for example, games I played have a lot of chars and always loved to try every single one that attracted me and have them geared and looking fabulous, here in SW I only really care about Stella, Lily more or less, Iris have my attention but need to wait until she got released so this lack of playable characters is hitting me very very hard, I would love to have more (make Naran a playable character please) and hopefully we will.

  • Why more chars? We have 2 new chars in KR and JP and one in developing(that chaingrill).I only want the Blood Soulworker's outfits, for example,Ravan's glasses and suit would be perfect for Erwin. Why don't they add their costumes as an event,as they did with the NPC's?

  • the playerbase has dropped significantly. I dont want to start a new character right now. I could barely get to 55 with trying to auto-team and find people.

also~side note. One of my IGNs that I used initially but deleted the character to star over is still not available to use... so I wouldnt want to start a new character without this IGN being available. I even checked with friend finder if someone else had it. nope. there is hope.

It takes 7 days after deletion for the name to become available again.
