When am I going to get good rates on Soulcash?

  • The only reason why I haven't spent any money is because the rates for Soulcash are atrocious to me for no reason when other people are getting double for the same $ amount. Even if steam takes a cut and taxes for my country is higher, there is zero reason for the discrepancy to be so big.

The excuse of using old conversion rates is even more atrocious, since $13.5 CAD was 10 Euros back then, making it actually more favourable for me.

1,650+100 bonus soulcash for $16.12 CAD is pretty fair with typical rates of 100 game cash per $ or 1,000 in most games. Same with euros. I wouldn't care much if the differences were minor due to VAT, taxes or whatever. But $14.00 for 750 soulcash? Really? So one guy can get four inventory expansion slots and I'm stuck with two.

If it were up to me, I'd just use the standalone client but I am stuck with steam, unfortunately.

  • Just adding the old quote below as refence. I think it is appropriate to hear what happened to said check. Did you try opening a ticket via the support and link this thread and the quote? Just ask them to forward it and give you an explanation.

    Quote
140.00 CAD for 13k of it while others have it at amounts of at least 24k or 30k. I was hoping of a compromise between at 20k or 23k in Soul Cash please

I'll check. We do not change our exchange rates that often (our payment works for all our games), might be that the rate is based on a very old Canadian Dollar / Euro exchange rate

  • wow, didn't know us Canadians are getting cucked so hard until I saw this comparison. We only get almost half compared to other regions?

    Unbelievable

Fuck this, I'm not spending anymore until this shit is fixed. Better if they actually retroactively add soul cash for the difference but I don't expect that from this company.

  • Hello,

that topic is forwarded to our team and we are currently working on it.

Once we have more information, there will be an official statement about it. :)

    Cheers,

  • So prices are always being actively monitored? or just for certain currency?

Hate to give you more bad news, but you can only get 2 of those inventory expansions at the sale price (per account). After you buy those 2, you will have to buy the rest at full price (495), so your 750 will only get you 1 inventory expansion going forward.

Does the standalone client actually have a different cash shop with different prices?

    That would suck a lot.

Standalone client charges $12.89 for 750 soulcash.

  • Good luck with that. I know a buddy that asked for a refund due to this change and he was declined so he did a chargeback and got banned from the cash shop (no joke, only the cash shop).

  • People should have just waited. I know some of you couldn't and didn't want to but with thew amount of people reporting this issue, something was bound to happen.

According to this logic if people start reporting this and complaining then something is bound to happen regarding reimbursing people who already purchased Soul Cash right?

I don't have time to sit and read every single forum post out there but if they had made an announcement/post regarding potentially changing the amount of Soul Cash we would get per $ and we still went ahead and made purchases knowing about this change then that makes more sense to not provide anything to us. Looking at this thread alone, threea's post is extremely vague. It doesn't state whether there will actually be a change or not, so it's not clear to anyone whether they would change this issue or make an "official announcement" regarding the Soul Cash rates.

Looking at it from a business standpoint though, I definitely wouldn't tell my customers I'd be potentially changing my rates since it would make them hold off on purchases. I'd want them to purchase from me now at the current rate, deal with their "complaints" and wager that they would purchase from me again using the new rate as well. Not only that but these new rates are much better so more people will purchase from me now because they feel like they are getting a better deal, so I may have lost few customers who feel ripped off, but I've also gained a few customers now willing to purchase from me. Acquisition > Retention

I highly doubt they will make any other sort of announcement regarding these changes so sending in a support ticket to get a response from GameForge is probably the best closure you can get for this kind of situation. I want GameForge to tell me "You should have waited" lol.

  • Here's the new rates for anyone interested. You also get 1,500 bonus for the highest tier on credit card. Steam is roughly 13% more expensive.

  • I don't know about you but the moment they placed stuff up on their cash shop, something was definitely wrong as people in various countries were having to throw out almost triple the price to compare to EU prices. That alone was enough to put up a red flag.

Sure, one may not check the forums often, yes, but even then, wouldn't you find it off that someone from EU purchasing 1000 soulcash compared to someone in Canada trying to pay the same amount had to pay triple compared to EU? Of course that needed fixing.

BUT that isn't to say that people who have bought beforehand should not be refunded. My previous post may have came off as such but that wasn't my intent. It's just more work for GF to do when they need to calculate and re-calculate refunds which results in hell of a lot more tickets being sent in which creates even more wait time.

Just pray you wont get just a measly 600 Grutins. <X
