EXP Gain Bug

  • Hi there,

It seems there is a bug which influences gain of EXP. This occurred while I was leveling an alt with a pre-made of 4 players, starting at Candus City (though after now discussing it with others this morning, it seems to have affected people in Rucco Town as well). The bug causes the experience gain to be severely reduced. In Candus City, a Manic run should offer around 30-40% of a level per run. However, when this bug was in effect, a Manic run would give around 9-13% at the same level, gear, and dungeon. This bug affects strictly mob kill EXP. It seems to happen near the time of log-in reset, but unsure if it's coincidence.

It also seems to only occur if you do party play, but again, not enough sample size. I haven't heard of solo players being affected though.

If this bug happens to you, drop party, re-log, and re-form party after. Afterwards, the EXP should be back to normal per gain. Credits to my friend Zappie and his partner for noticing the bug as well as figuring a fix.

I do not know how long this issue has been going on for. But it may contribute to the sentiment that people feel like leveling is very slow in the game. The first time it was brought to my attention was on 3/27.

For staff, if needed, I can provide a VOD of the stream where it occurred and we fixed the problem live. Otherwise, the text above should be self-explanatory. This bug can severely inhibit a player's progress in Soulworker, and they would be none the wiser if they had no frame of comparison.

  • Not sure about the player's level on your party before and after reform, but there is an exp/drop penalty if the party exist someone high level. Example, 20 level dungeon and with someone lv30++.
