The Game is Actually Kinda Doomed and Why

  • I guess it's a new trend to assume the game will fail as soon as the game releases nowadays, or rather a typical cycle. Typical, you see the same type of guy making these kind of threads on newly released games, just mention a few flaws the game has and you will have a "reasonable" argument. Then, you see a group of people agreeing with OP because they see players leaving like this has not ever happened before, this is SERIOUS Stuff.

The Players loss comes from those unstable players who just come to "try the game," then leave the next week. These players are most likely to never be stable in any game, for they keep jumping from one to another. The other group comes to burn-out people who try hard at first with the idea of "Staying in this game," but eventually they will find a flaw and use it as an excuse to leave this game. Lastly, comes people like OP, self-proclaimed sage, who has seen the future far away from us. This type of wizard will warn you about what's about to come, then stay until the prophecy has been accomplish. Very wise indeed.

I'm not going to bash nor criticize anyone further, but I'll say one thing: Those players losses and threads you see it's the typical-cycle for games like this. a MMO like this *Mostly* consist of small to medium player base, they mostly never excel in population due to stated facts, SW is not the exception(if you think it is). It's not an issue with the game, but rather the genre. you will keep encountering these kind of issue in almost any SW-like mmo. I am sure some of you here discussing are already familiar with this cycle, there's nothing to be surprise about. He is just "that guy." I am not defending the game, I am just simply stating facts that I thought people clearly knew.

P.S: someone in here prob gonna say, "There's that guy who (insert) like this (me)" Yea, that's right. Someone has to reply to this typical crap

  • And the cycle repeats itself. How many times until both sides come to a mutual agreement?

On a serious note, I do get what you guys are saying. SW has a lot of issues that need resolved and we're expecting GF to fix them asap.

But on the other hand, it isn't as easy as 1-2-3. From what I understand, GF main job is to act as the 'medium' between us, the players and Lion Games, the developer. There are things they can do, such as keeping servers stable and delivering reasonable prices for us to spend on, and then there's things they have to get permission first before making a change from the original production, e.g. content. Also, GF is a multi-publisher so they would have to go through channels.... so yeah, I'm already expecting things to update real slow at this point.

Not to mention if you guys took some sort of computer programming class, it's a real headache. Especially when you think it's going to go well just to see that the program you're making has an error, well, it's frustrating trying to debug and solve it.

  • Saying a game is gonna be dead doesn't acquire to be able to "see the future". If u can see where the game is going u can predict if the game is gonna be dead sooner or later. Maybe there are games which doesn't release content as often and still aren't dead yet, but that doesn't have anything to do with SW and it's current state. SW doesn't have much content which keeps player interested, which results in player loosing interest and quitting the game. And since they barely have content they need to bring out new, otherwise even more people will quit the game. The game is already pretty dead compared to a few weeks ago. Maybe people would get active again as soon as GC comes out, but we would have the same situation again after like ~2 weeks when people get bored of GC. So they need to give us new content regularly otherwise the game will surely die and I can say that without being able to "look into the future". But to be honest, I don't think that SW is the type of game which can keep a large player base interested anyway, so I might've expected to much but that doesn't change the fact that the engame content currently is a big issue. If they would push out new content regularly, they would keep atleast a small player base for sure.

  • Well that is some data wo work with, so fair point. It's only steam, but better then nothing. I do except this to fall further. The interesting thing will be if it stabilizes after a while.

And while I agree with the PR thing in KR, people will only stay if the game is actually fun. Tbh, I only stared playing Dark Souls due to seeing a Let's Play of it and kept playing it because it was really interesting to me.

Do you also know what P.Servers have? No laws they have to follow!

Edit: That prediction is based on nothing, that's the problem. I would agree with the statement if the game would be out for six month already. It isn't, so at this point in time it's just fortune telling.
