PvP mode coming tomorrow

  • New content: PVP mode in the Dimension Trip

First runtime: 18:00, 20:00 and 22:00 on Thursday (all times in CEST)
First runtime for NA: 18:00, 20:00 and 22:00 on Thursday (all times in EDT).
More info tomorrow after the maintenance

I'm guessing they're going to test the stress first.

I'd hate to enter PvP just to join the lag fest and crashes cycling on forever

But then again.... they should seriously fix the random server crashes first... and keep it fixed.

  • PvP is pretty buggy itself with iframes not being very accurate at times and 0 packet loss, imagine how stressful it would be for the publishers to deploy a PvP mode in which people just end up crying due to lag, crashes, and other kinds of things that may occur. If you give players the feeling of the "not official/beta" they won't complain/suffer as much as they would if they were to officially deploy a PvP mode.

  • Before I say something I got some questions:

    1) Is PvP worth it? As in rewards of course

    2) Is PvP actually a thing? (Big enough to host tournaments, to make entire patches or updates around it, it's part of the core of this game or it's just small enough that it can be skipped?)

    3) To veterans, is this PvP even balanced or at least tries to?

    4) How ping sensitive is this?

  • I said this earlier in another thread. But adding PvP so early on when there are so many current problems is a bit of a reckless move. I understand Gameforge doesn't necessarily choose, but really?
We have so many frequent crashes, somewhat lacking in end game content (although PvP will somewhat solve this issue for some people)
Everyone came for the same reason. To play the game for what it's seen as. I don't think PvP was ever really boasted in any ads. Which indicates a lot of people came for the PvE experience that has been shown so frequently. Not to mention they will have to choose one of two things after this
1: They neglect the balancing of PvP so they can frequently publish content in an attempt to satisfy those who aren't into the PvP scene.
2: Have people work on balancing the PvP mode which ultimately means the speed at which content is released will be somewhat slower (depending on the size of said group)
Either way I didn't think they would add PvP so early on... it really does baffle me.

Either way, new content is new content and gives me a reason to keep playing, so thanks
Even if PvP isn't really my cup of tea :P

  • I don't mean to complain when we're basically given what we wanted: new content aka pvp arena but the thing is, nobody take pvp seriously in this game considering the awful balancing, each class have their skills that one shot players or just remove any chances of fight back like stella basswaves. The problem is I'm pretty sure pvp use the same multiplier as for pve, one way of fixing this would be to have different multipliers against players. Anyway back to the topic, the fact that nobody bother with PvP in it's actual state means that nobody is going to be care about this update apart of the 2-3 firs days for the laugh seeing how broken the pvp system is right now, get bored then go back to complain about the lack of content on the forum cause we don't have any more content in the part of the game that matter here : PvE, Pvp will only be relevant once liongames do the proper balancing which they said they'd be doing in 2018. I don't really care either way since I'm going to continue grinding either way but I hope for the rest of the community that next PvE content won't take another month to appear cause by then the PvE Commmunity(99% of the actual community) will be dead.

The problem isnt only damage in pvp, it's also bugs like the one where you dont see others player animation/skills cause theyre stuck lying on the ground on your screen, and also overpowered skills like this

  • Nekavrad I don't think it will matter if pvp in terribly unbalanced if the only time people can even do the content question (arena) is only 2hrs a day on specific days. I don't know if i can really consider this content if its this restricted but hey maybe it is like some people are saying and this is just a test run. I highly doubt it though.

I agree with you that pve content is where the game really needs new things. It would have been much better if new pve content was added with the pvp.

  • Things to consider before entering the pvp mode:

Dimension Trip doesn't regulate gear, akasha skills or brooches. Therefore what you bring with you will have a big impact on the outcome. Many people will probably go unprepared or with pve gear and pve akashas and they will get oneshotted.

I believe it's possible to obtain temporary pvp gear from an NPC (like renting it) but I'm not sure how this is done.

The gear in our current patch is not pvp oriented and we all lack a ton of Crit Resist, so at the beginning we can expect fights to end quite quickly.

Playing the pvp mode rewards you with materials to craft pvp gear that is incredibly strong. You should absolutely farm these materials if you are interested in pvp, although the downside is that this set will be bad for pve.

  • It's entertainable.. everyone craved it, basically sent messages to Gameforge for weeks on weeks. No matter how early the game was, they wanted PvP ASAP. And now people be like "Uhmm, a little early.. Much buggs probably..And it's a high risk."

:haru4: There is just no winning, huh?

  • Cant wait to get that sweet "Server disconnected" while playing PvP.

Edit: 3GB For pvp update seriously though?

That's what I don't get either. I feel like if they had chosen Golden Citadel over PvP, people would be like "Hell yeah let's go!" and then after a couple weeks they'd be back at "We don't have CONTENT". PvP is highly likely the only type of content that can hypothetically last for as long as you'd like and you can swtich it up with different modes so I guess that while it is a very bold and risky choice because you can encounter major technical difficulties, it's also the best possible way to keep the giveusmorecontent-side of the community at bay.

Then if there's any actual issue with classes being unbalanced, I can't wait for people to cry over it instead of actually:

    • Sparring and practicing
    • Gearing up correctly
    • Learning matchups
    • Get familiar with PvP
  • Meh, I'm waiting for other content, I've never been much into PvP mostly because my internet is garbage so playing against people in games like this who have way better internet than me is frustrating.

Yeah Specially When you still get hit when your enemy is clearly far away.
