alt farm nerf

  • GF HQ: Ok, now that you (staff) have all you wanted how about making our players pay for it?

    Staff member #1: Sure

    Staff member #2: Yeah

Staff member #3: Why don’t we do something useful instead?

    *gets thrown out*

    End of the story.

I’m on my phone and too lazy to do a proper meme

Edit: Since this is an exploit why don’t they remove the energy exploit by getting killed and leave? Both are things not intended to be like that.

  • Are you really trying to tell me the akasha card system is ONLY for new players? You can not possibly be serious.

GameForge is telling you the system is for paying players and as a bonus for new players or possible event rewards. I am not telling you anything, I am just stating the obvious. What do you except? Those things are this games lootboxes. Lootboxes always work that way. That#s way I said the game should't be balanced around them. They should be just an extra.

Energy exploit doesn't directly effect a CS item (there is on, but probably less important) and the fix probably takes more then just increasing a number in a config file. It may get fixed in the future if they care.

  • I personally don't dislike Gameforge but, I feel that this server's fate was sealed from the get-go. Why Liongames decided that it was appropriate to give a game to a host that gets majority negative feedback from its player-base is beyond me. Anything that they do that so much as rub the players the wrong way will be amplified 100x. This is bad to a lot of people and is amplified x100. Lol...

That aside. This is pretty bad but, not that bad. At least you can still farm for Akasha's and Anti-Breaks and they didn't remove the ability to do it all together (at least not yet like they did in other servers). But, I'm an optimistic type of person. If this method isn't further nerfed and we end up getting the revamped login check rewards then this shouldn't be too bad. If we take it a step further then when we get character slot expansions, just make more characters and farm Rocco. Unless of course for whatever reason you're playing every character so all your slots are filled. Then in that case... dunno what to tell ya. That's what I plan on doing anyway. I've also dealt with Elsword for 5 years. I've seen the real shit. The nitty-gritty of it all. So, I'm a very tolerant person. I don't think anything that happens on Soulworker can outdo what happened on Elsword especially NA.

  • I really liked the game but recently used almost all my anti destruction up. Got 3 Broken weapons from 6-7 from Haru. Wasted all my money around 100mil that I farmed up from 1-55(got 55 yesterday). Got non good maxed out 1-2 star card arksha card.
In PVP modus I get 1 shotted always playing dead. So I decided to quit the game because apperently I need to play 24/7 progression on all 3 cities for 1 month to get my weapon to 8 or something.

  • Unless of course for whatever reason you're playing every character so all your slots are filled.

This is the current state im in. I like playing variety, therefore I only have 1 usable character slot for alt farming. I was still getting something, bit by bit. I guess adding a tradeable cash shop item that locks a character from deletion and gives 1 more slot(up to x slots) would be a nice addition. The tradeable part is important, as f2p players need to buy these from whales.

  • In this game, Akasha are essential to maximizing the effectiveness of your character. Both as a solo player and as a player that wishes to carry their own weight rather than getting piggy backed. The same goes for Anti Breaks. If you've been playing from the beginning and you don't have at least a +7 weapon, you're doing it wrong.

What made this all possible was that this game actually felt free 2 play friendly, because progress was just a little extra effort each day, rather than a lot of waiting. Which is what this fix is. Essentially, I'll be unaffected because I've been saving anti-breaks for quite some time, anticipating GC. And I have all the Akasha I need. But that's the issue.

Now I have a huge edge over people who're new or haven't capped yet, because they're getting punished for the old heads (this game isn't even old, which is the sad part of how quickly things are going to crap) using the free 2 play method to progress. I'd hardly consider it an exploit as much as I'd consider it an unintentional (or overlooked) design choice. I figured this method out the first day I played (3rd day of beta) without being told about it or researching it. It was hella obvious.

What they don't realize is that in me saving money on Akasha Transmitters and Anti-Breaks, I was willing to (and did) buy some outfits and eye colors. One thing I will not do is gamble, knowing how terrible the rates are on pulling the good stuff. Especially after dropping 350m on that rip off limited akasha pile of sht that doesn't even guarantee a limited akasha. Man was I heated about that bull when i pulled 2 Ava's and jack sht from the 50 regular transmitters. I feel bad for the poor souls who dropped 50 on that sht and got nothing.

  • So, I'm a very tolerant person. I don't think anything that happens on Soulworker can outdo what happened on Elsword especially NA.

Can I be so pessimistic an say. We are heading into the "right" direction to outdo it? In Elsword you at least don't pay to be able to upgrade at all after a certain amount of times. Okay, you have to repair instead, which can be worse... But at least IDs are not that important and there is no grade on gear.

This game unfortunately it set up really well to die from whaling. Not by GameForge, but LionGames. People always forget the items to sell are developed by LionGames for that very purpose. Both are equally at fault here.

Agreed. It's designed from the get go to be extremely p2w focused. I think the only thing we can really complain about at this point are the prices.

    Knocks on wood

I don't think the (EU) prices are a real problem. It's the gambling and low success chances that are really disgusting. I rather buy a card or +9 weapon for 50€, even tough that's extremely expensiv, then this lootbox nonsense. What the game lacks it a method that guarantees you success after a certain investment. Also some stuff straight out shouldn't be in the cash shop. IDs are the best example, you should have an easy way of rerolling ingame for how important those stats are. Just let us reroll for ingame currency so it acts as a money sink. This helps the game and makes the players happy.

  • Yes, I do (and many users know that). I am just providing you the explanation I have: the exploit of items for new users.

Making a decision as heavy should have supplied a alternative method for end game players to earn the rewards that people needed, thus they exploited the delete character system.

What I'm saying is, say there is a high demand item so for example 'Weapon Upgrade Chips' gameforge wouldn't solve the issue of them being is such high demand by lowering their drop rate even further and allowing them to be purchased in the premium shop.

If gameforge wants to say "Endgame players have no way to farm these items apart from getting a job or disposing your wallet into this game" then just say it

    :iris1::iris3::iris4::iris2:

  • If you aren't going to give end game players a method to farm these items, change the success rates drastically

You know on the Japanese server, they (used to / still have) have a pack for 5000 yen that gave you 60 red akasha transmitters (a red transmitter guarantees minimum 3 star akashas) and they had events that allowed you to farm anti-destructions and akasha transmitters. People aren't mad that games are pay to win, they're mad at how much you have to pay...

    Akasha Transmitter - 135 SoulCash ($1.8 CAD / $1.29 USD / €0.77 EUR)

    Anti-Destruction - 195 SoulCash ($2.6 CAD / $1.86 USD / €1.11 EUR)

That's the different values in currencies you have to pay for the items - assuming you're buying the 4th soulcash pack.

  • A long, long time ago....

I can still remember, how that one day alt farm used to make them smile.

And I knew if it wasn't free, maybe they'd raise the RNG, and, maybe, they'd be happy for a while.

But April made me shiver, with every forum post they deliver.

Bad news on the news feed; I couldn't let myself read.

I can't recall if it was a glitch when I read about the seven day switch, but something touched me deep inside the day the alt farm died.

  • dayum that hit me hard

    :iris1::iris3::iris4::iris2:

  • Relax guys.

Gameforge is just making another guide: "How to displease your community and still make the most profit".

Like they did with Metin2, Aion and Tera.

Every other publisher can learn a lot from them!

    /sarcasm over.
