I'd like to start off by saying that this game is truly enjoyable for me. I've been looking for an MMO to play since I quit BnS. This is the first game I've been able to have fun with, playing alone in years.
With the very hard nerf of alt-farming, I think it's time I bring up some problems with SoulCash. That I think will need to be addressed if this game wants to live and or thrive.
Please note that everything in this thread is my own opinion, feel free to disagree with me!
SoulCash
- Overpriced
SoulCash is incredibly overpriced. At the price of buying the 175% SoulCash, here is the price of a few items in different currencies from different regions on the NA Server.
Assuming: Buying the 4th SoulCash pack with 175% value.
Akasha Transmitter - 135 SoulCash ($1.8 CAD / $1.29 USD / €0.77 EUR)
Anti-Destruction - 195 SoulCash ($2.6 CAD / $1.86 USD / €1.11 EUR)
SouliJamas - 1990 SoulCash ($26.53 CAD / $18.95 USD / €11.37 USD)
Beddy-bye Pyjamas - 1450 SoulCash ($19.33 CAD / $13.81 USD / €8.28 EUR)
I'll get to conversion rates in a second - but as I am living in Canada, does GameForge actually think an average resident of Canada can justify the price of an outfit being $26.53 or $19.33? - Conversion rates
Here's 3 pictures showing the rates of SoulCash on the NA server from 3 different countries.
a) Canada - https://i.imgur.com/6JeXVcO.png
b) United States - https://i.imgur.com/HWGW0Tc.png
c) Europe - https://imgur.com/0gJ6woz
Using conversion rates as of April 18th 2018 at 13:33 Eastern Time
1 USD = 1.26418 CAD
1 USD = 0.807495 EUR
Canada vs US
For 5250 SoulCash, a Canadian will be paying $70 CAD, which is equal to $55.3826 USD. An American will be paying $49.99 USD, which is equal to $63.1841 CAD. That means someone in Canada, for the exact same amount of SoulCash is paying ($6.8159 CAD / 5.39397) extra for the same product, or 14% more.
US vs Europe
Comparing the price of 1 SoulCash
Americans pay ($0.00952190476 USD / €0.00768812267 EUR) per 1 SoulCash.
Europeans pay ($0.00707584991 USD / €0.00571314285 EUR) per 1 SoulCash.
That means someone from the US is paying 34.6% extra for the same product.
Canada vs Europe
Comparing the price of 1 SoulCash
A Canadian will be paying ($0.01333333333 CAD / €0.008519980834 EUR) for 1 SoulCash.
A European will be paying ($0.00893959443 CAD / €0.00571314285) for 1 SoulCash.
This means a Canadian is paying 49.1% more per 1 SoulCash than a European is.
Personally I think this is unacceptable. It's obvious that someone in Canada should be paying more per SoulCash as the Candian dollar is traded less internationally than the US dollar or Euro.
https://www.tdcommercialbanking.com/rates/index.jsp
These are the conversion rates from one of Canada's largest banks
At the moment, 1 EUR = 1.56518 CAD
Converting through TD Bank: 1 EUR = 1.6123
That's a 3.01% conversion rate. I'd be completely fine with up to a 5% fee, but 49.1% is ridiculous.
Upgrading
I've tried to upgrade my level 16 weapon (Grinder) to +7 before and I failed 25 times without getting to +7 (Yes I had weapon upgrade chips in my inventory).
This section is the only portion of my post I will be using information from somebody else, on this reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/soulw…rent_state_of_soulworker/
The user "Mofitex" says that his friend tried 150 times to upgrade his weapon from +8 to +9 and failed. Given that they are removing Alt-farming from the game to get Anti-Destruction and I live in Canada, let's just say for sake of argument that it takes 150 tries to get +8 to +9, that means I would be paying $390 CAD to get my weapon from +8 to +9.
I am aware that +9 weapons are not required for this game - but why would a feature of the game cost so much money?
Anyway, that's about it for my rant. I guess the majority of it stems around the price of SoulCash. I truly enjoy this game and I'd be sad to see it go because of the price of SoulCash.
